Someone for the love of god please tell me there is a viable counter to Shaco.

Since the Riven patch I haven't won a single game where Shaco has been on the other team. Every single damned time he gets fed early game and just carries like fuck mid & late game.

1) Mimic players better than you, the way they move, the items they buy, the places they hide, etc
2) Play bot games to learn a given champ, not to learn about the game. Bots will breed bad habits.
3) Learn to jungle if you want to play serious ladder, it will carry you far
4) Videos and streams, watch them
5) Ask for help

Was playing Xerath, the only ranged on our team, and every time Shaco was close to dying he would just do his little innate flash thing and stealth away. Every. Damn. Time.

Also get a Hextech eyeball if there's a Shaco on the other team.

The boxes don't kill because of the fear, most of the time people can just walk right out of range with good reflexes. They kill because one or two will take out 60% of a champion's health if they don't get out/can't get out fast enough.

In any case, many Shacos build Gunblade. So if you scurvy the boxes' Fear, he'll just follow up with Two-shiv or the Gunblade's active to keep you in range. There's also the problem of GP's Raise Morale which increases his movespeed by a respectable amount. Movespeed, against Shaco boxes, is actually a double edged sword. Because there's a small delay when the boxes trigger, the faster you move, the closer you'll be to the boxes once they activate.

Basically that.

Detect shaco is the biggest thing you can do hell anyone with a stealth ability deserves decent invis warding before fights or at least jungle and certainly in pushing lanes. If you don't do this or oracles the better team will and simply deserves to win. Also get armor or mr depending how he builds. Tenacity makes his boxes useless. Just remember detect stealths bait them kill and then kill their team when you can.

Vladimir is awesome. I went mid against Cait, so it was a bit rocky because I kept having to retreat and my usual build doesn't have armor. In hindsight I should have built Zhonya's before a Deathcap, but I kept outsmarting the Cait so it wasn't as big of a deal.

Vlad is so fun. He's pretty perfect for me because he can be surprisingly durable and I don't have to worry about mana management--or retreat as often. Plus, he's a great farmer.
