Hey KorraGAF, I don't usually post here but BOOK 4 already?!?!?!

Also, is this "lol Nick hates this series they put it on Nick.com to die" thing serious with you guys or is it some joke? I'd be surprised of an OT is made for a show that a large amount would greatly dislike. Just wondering!

well a large amount of people disliked this show when i made this OT so.....

but they put it online because it was getting low ratings on tv

edit: and azula is making the OT. i told him to start it already.

Ah ok, so a thisisneogaf.gif type thing. Cool. I personally really enjoyed Season 3 out of all of the seasons thus far. Can't wait for the next season.

I'm almost upset that Korra's coming out so soon, its like Nick is throwing all these episodes in my face because they don't want the show around anymore. Its too much too fast lol. Seriously, 3 seasons in a year? And then it'll be over really soon now :(

Are they planning to end the show this year? I'm not ready! :'(

Or maybe they'll split the Book again like they did with Legend of Aang Book 3 and show half this year, half in July all in one week lololol.

It's crazy that Book 4's coming so soon. It's just starting to hit me that these might be the last Avatar episodes we see for a long time (and that's assuming Bryan and Mike are definitely coming back to Avatar). I'm not ready to let go, y'all. :(

These will very likely be the last. Unless another network is willing to pick up a new series.

I don't wanna leave the world of Avatar yet.. :( I hope the next series is Netflix Only. Nickelodeon does not care about avatar anymore It's kinda sad

Considering what happened with the schedules and all of that, I have come to terms that maybe this is the last time we see an animation based in the Avatar universe.

I know I speculated about this just four days ago, but I wasn't really expecting it.

I still think that January is the most likely release date for Book 4, but there has been no downtime between the conclusion of Book 3 and the start of the flow of information about Book 4, so I'm not ruling out a bizarro October/November premiere yet.

Bryan has said that he wants to get to spend more time with his wife after TLOK is finished. :lol I can only imagine the amount of work that goes into making these shows. I can't blame them for wanting some downtime. As for what they'll do after that ... it's anyone's guess, but it's always possible they'll want to tell stories outside of the Avatar universe. Although yeah, even if they do, it's not looking like Nick's particularly excited about that.

Also, welcome to KorraGAF! :)

doesn't nick actually own the rights to the show? i bet they'll just get fat off the syndication like they did with invader zim.

Yes, Nick owns everything about the franchise.

Wow, Nick just doesn't care anymore, do they? Oh well, I hope the end to the Avatar universe is at least Change-tier, but I'll take another Earth.

Anyone got a better version of this gif?

Fire>Change>Earth>Water>Air>Chibi shorts>anything>Spirits

I haven't been keeping up with Korra since Book 3 ended, mostly since I didn't think there'd be any real news for awhile.

And now this.

Wtf?

azula is working on it
be patient

:P

I think you should do the OT for Book 4. You always did the best job, and it would really be fitting to finish out the show with one of your threads. Seriously, these were some of the best threads on GAF, and a large part of that was you holding them together. Please do the Book 4 OT, we couldn't ask for a better person to do it :D

Also holy shit, this is insane. I never ever would have guessed Nick would put the season out that quickly. Just insane. I don't think I can ever recall such a quick turn around for a show of this caliber. The entire journey of this series has been one long emotional roller coaster. I thought we would have like a couple months to catch our breath, but nope.

It's not even sinking in that Book 4 is only weeks away. Like what the hell.

The only other possible venue for a continuation of Korra's story or expanding the world of Avatar may be the comics, but I have always partly thought of them as a merch tool for the show in the eyes of Nick. Considering that it is not longer considered fit to stay on air, it seems like a remote chance if at all.

Also, the comics had been rather questionable in their quality, but I wouldn't say they are bad. After all, Korra has taught us that having Bryke on board is not exactly a guarantee (RE: Book 2 Spirits)

Calling it now: there's going to be a mid-season break.

I don't even know why they would bother putting it out this early though. They have nothing to gain by releasing it this quick (especially if it's digital only). If they did something like a break, would be really pointless. Might as well wait till Jan-Feb and just have it all ready to go (assuming it isn't 100% ready to go).

BTW the schedulebending OT title was so perfect for Book 3. We need to come up with a really clever one for Satch's Book 4 thread.

EDIT: Lol this is Nick though afterall.

right after episode 10... and then they will release the season 4 dvd/blu ray december 2015 with the last 2 eps on them and when people question if they will air them they will just say... oops forgot oh well you can buy them on dvd.

What exactly makes you guys think that it will be the last season of the whole avatar franchise? I mean not saying I particularly expect it to go either way, but in a interview, the writes said something like when they left the last airbender, the world ended up drawing them back in again and they said they expect that/wouldn't be surprised if that happened again or something like that.

Was that recently? Just a few weeks ago they did an interview and said they don't think they'd want to do more because they felt they pushed animated children's action to its limits

Well, it's probably the last season of Avatar for some time now. The creators really want to take a break, so I can't see them committing to a new series within the next 5 years. And I think when they do jump back in, it will be for a new series all together (so a new idea/world), and not Avatar. Clearly Nick doesn't think the Avatar IP is fit for the current direction of the company (their aimed demographics).

So yeah, it's not looking good. Do I think it's the LAST we will ever see of anything from the Avatar universe? Probably not. But I could see us going 10 + years without getting anything proper. I think it's fair to say, this is the END for Avatar as we knew it (meaning ATLA + Korra being made by the same creators, around a certain period of time). I think this will definitely be a final chapter in that regards.

And for many fans, it will probably be the last thing they see from it in a long time (and it's never a guarantee that there will be anything else later on).

Well I hope whatever else they make, it's action adventure. I mean they can do what they want obviously, but I can hope.

I hope avatar starts a trend for more serious good action adventure cartoons in general tbh.
