gonna be Bolin and Korra cuz they're gonna send love letters back and forth

WHAT A TWIST

I remember thinking they were a better ocuple than Korra+Mako in season 1

anyway. I've been rewatching ATLA. Sokka and Bolin are the same type of characters, but Sokka has so many more and better funny moments because they're not always him saying something silly. Comically unfortunate things happen to him (sleeping with his mouth open for so long that a spider made a web in it, a bug lands in it and Momo grabs the bug+spider out of his mouth) and his completely earnest reactions are hilarious because they're believable. Bolin in TLoK book 3 too often was merely saying one-liners that sound like he's trying to be funny. I don't remember specific from TLoK book 1, but I remember him being funnier there. I'll have to check that out again and see what's up.

That mouth spiderweb scene is one of the funniest things I've seen.

つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Book 4 |OT| つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

youre going to wait till sunday like everyone else mister

Yeah, it's gonna be either Mako or nobody. I would prefer nobody, but I got the sense they were dropping Makorra hints in Book 3. Could be that I'm just paranoid about romance in this show by now, but that's what my money is on.

Korrasami will always be number one in my heart.

I'm not a fan of Makorra or even obsessed with shipping, or even that much bothered by the romance, so if there were any Makorra hints, they went by my head.

All those "hints" fans keep talking about, seemed to me to be just Korra trying to get back to normal with Mako like friends, not a couple.

Its these two hugs have led a lot of people to think that Makorra is a possibility again and its been the driving force for the Makorra shippers recently.

I know.

Not impressed. Not saying it might not happen, but if Mako and Korra end up together, it'll be despite those two hugs.

Korra realizes who was there for her all this time, who understood how she felt and who she truly loves deep down. The true OTP
Herself.

Iroh 2 better make a comeback in Book 4.

I need my Dante Basco fix.

Also, at this point there are more hints towards Korrasami than Makorra.

Shippers be desperate.

whaaa, Sokka's Master one of the worst Avatar episodes?

it's one of the very best
that list is pretty bad to be honest
Yes, I think that Doug really has problem to get into unusual situations (and swamps apparently). Like when he was reviewing Tank Girl and somehow didn't grasped why they inserted pictures of the comic. FLCL would kill him.

Yup.

Azula, you still want to do that Skype idea you had for book 3?

Might as well. This time we actually have like 2-3 weeks to prepare. Last time it sprung up on us out of no where, and I was kind of scrambling. Also, I have nothing going on for Oct-Nov, so this is actually a perfect time. Plus it's the last season, would be cool to do one last thing with KorraGAF

Although maybe not a good idea, 90% of the talk be about Korrasami tbh.

So when does Book 4 air?

Agreed Sokka's Master is a good episode and it gave birth to the meteor sword, which was awesome until the writer decided to have Sokka drop it in the final fight.

Though honestly his list is weak along with his reasoning.

Having said that I miss watching Avatar The legend of Aang and I should hunt down the DVD, preferably the US version.

I can't watch his stuff anymore. The novelty of his reviews wore off for me. But then again I still watch JonTron. I stopped doing AVGN though, mainly because he never updated and his reviews were posted in another page instead of youtube.

He'd probably hate JoJo as well.

I think unusual situation are great, and honestly one of the problems with Korra is how bland each scenario is.

Eh think I can understand his point about that episode, but I still enjoyed it a lot and it nice that they gave sokka something else to use beside his boomerang. That wasn't a bad list honestly (definitely agree on the first two), and not like he didn't like them, just a little weaker than the many other great episodes (beside the great divide:P). I probably would put the Drill somewhere there, cause last I saw it it felt like a drag.:|

Imprisoned, The Northern Air Temple, The Beach are for more deserving to be on the list than The Cave of Two Lovers, The Headband (imo it's a fun episode except for the last few minutes), Sokka's Master or The Boiling Rock Part 1

those episodes are truly just bad (especially The Beach)

come to think of it, he seems to have a bias against book 3

I kinda got what he was saying about Sokka's Master, but I think it's completely believable that Sokka would feel down on himself for being the only member of the Gaang without superpowers. Sure, he's the idea man, but at the end of the day that's still a supporting role. He doesn't know he's a fan favorite character. I thought the episode was one of the better ones in Book 3, had some great Sokka moments, and helped set the stage for him later on (especially in the finale).

Also, The Drill is awesome, what are you guys talking about.

I know a lot of people who hated Book 3 when it aired because it was so much slower-paced, more episodic, and less serious than the last third of Book 2 was. Episodes that don't drive the plot forward can feel a lot more grating if that's your entire Avatar fix for a week or two. That, coupled with the nine months of anticipation between books and the seven month gap in the middle of the season, soured a lot of people on it. But the season has only grown in my estimation on rewatches. It's interesting (though understandable) that some people still feel that way even if they discovered the show on DVD.

Maybe I need to see it again, and it wasn't bad, but it just seem to had went so slooow, making it kind of boring. Hell the show makes fun of the episode later on in ember island players when the audience are yawning and falling asleep at the drill part.

Seriously, people don't like The Beach? The first half is a little silly, but I always thought the ending was great. Really showed Zuko's frustrations.

It's because it was quite stupid and made the characters look stupid except Zuko.

Azula went from semi-serious cool chick to stupid in an instant.

it's like a speed run of character development. i prefer the first half.

True, but I always felt it had just the right mix of character development and comedy. Maybe it's just me, but I definitely enjoy this episode more than something like Sokka's Master. But Cave of Two Lovers and the The Headband? That shit is awesome.

I'll admit that I haven't seen the episode in a while, but like the entire last third is a sequence of fight scenes, is it not? I guess you could argue that the set-up takes too long but I thought the Drill itself was both a neat weapon and an effective set piece for the action that took place in and around it. It also had some great comedy: Toph's "ooh, what a nightmare" in response to Sokka saying he couldn't see and Mai refusing to jump in the "slurry pipe" are two jokes that still come to mind readily for me.

Because Azula is a genius at many things but empathy was never her strong suit. It is why she was a fierce opponent but it also led to her paranoia and takedown in the end. I thought the beach was a great character episode. The AV Club did a great review of it a long ways back.
