lol you sound like your Avatar kinda, like some grumpy old man, i LOVE it :)))) (i now imagine a grumpy Bill Murray picking Legos one by one at a PAB wall lol)

I shall do the same at that PAB wall though, fuck the kids!

How much do you pay for such a cup tho?

I have taken a couple of minifigs from a kid, after he picked them up from the shelf I was placing them on (I was finding the ones I needed, and getting them out of the way).

My local store, large cup is $14 and a small is $7 (USD).

mother of god... look at that value, i BET at my store it's gonna be like twice as much or something :( So you guys actually get like 500 pieces for 14$ then? No set gives that much value.

Isn't it 7.99 and 14.99?

$8 & $15USD? :)

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS! I was just thinking how amazing this would be the other day but thought that WB games owning TT would hold it up. It is another TT Games one right? Ohhhh man, those characters would lend themselves really well to one of those games, can't wait!

Edit: yeah it is, just checked. So good. I love all these games, think it's why I want the minifigs so badly, haha.

Sold.

Only lego games I haven't played are the Harry Potter and the clone wars ones. Current achievement whoring it up in lego Lord of the rings collecting everything.
Haha, me too. Splitting my time between trying to 100% (progress and achievements) that and Lego Batman 2, got them both over Christmas. Have 100%'d everything else except for Lego Indiana Jones 2, which was a rental and had some weird achievement tied to the level builder part of it. I'm super pumped for Lego Marvel. The press release says it'll have over 100 Marvel characters, including Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, they'll even have a Lego Galactus, haha. Hopefully will lead to more Super Hero sets.

So I finished building Jabba's Palace and the Rancor pit and I'm coming away a bit disappointed. For starters the piece to price ratio is extremely high on this one so it's not a good value at all. I think between the two, it's about 1000 pieces, but the total cost is like $180. Second, it's a bit small so everything feels a bit more cramped than I think it needs to be. I really think there needs a bit more space to open it up a bit. Third, the Rancor pit as a stand alone is really a joke. This thing is really meant to go with the palace and it sucks that they split them apart. It really should be one set rather than two sets. Finally, one last quirk that sort of annoys me but there's a grate that allows you to peak into the pit from Jabba's Palace but the way the design is, there's a bar from the Rancor pit that Jabba's Palace sits on and that bar goes through through that opening area. That seems badly designed to me and sort of sums up these two sets for me. Pretty disappointed.

I'd love to see some pics of a filled cup with this cube build method as i am gonna go to a store on the weekend, need to be ready for that ;)

Here's some old pics of what I go in the cup. It's over 400 pieces. All the bricks and plates were stacked together with the other random pieces filling in the holes.

I guess I'll have to wait for a sale before I get them.

If you can time your trip to go on the same day as a minibuild event could you bring family or young relatives or something? That way you get to experience the chaos and then the calm.

Many people ask if they can shop when there is a long line for the mini-build event, and the Lego specialists say that it's ok to shop, so you could go to the event with or without relative/child, shop around while chaos swirls around you, ask Lego workers to "watch your stuff that you've planned to buy" while you go get dinner in the food court (assuming your Lego store is in a mall of course) then go back to calmly browse the boxes of stuff and talk to the workers/build a relationship a bit and make final purchasing decisions (and at that point ask about stuff in the back room).

And then hand them your coupon and credit card.

If LEGO City is successful, I wonder if LEGO will game their other franchises. I'm surprised they didn't do a LEGO Ninjago (in the LEGO licensed game style), and I wouldn't mind seeing LEGO Chima.

I took a couple of crappy shots of Arkham Asylum with my iPhone camera...

I loved this build. Super fun. The finished set looks fantastic. I love all the little touches like the gargoyles on the roof and the warden's desk and Harley's little secret room. Even Shredder's gauntlets from the TMNT sets get used as a decoration for the tops of some pillars.

I've gotta rearrange some shelves so I can permanently display this set.

Hmmm. Keep flip flopping what set to get next. VW Camper is the winner, but for secondary I am not sure if it is Arkham or Horizon Express.

You guys are making the wait until the weekend to build even harder ;)

Whatever you do, do not peek at the second floor of the town house part of Pet Shop. It isn't to the level of "dat second floor" of Fire Brigade in awesomeness, but there is this one little touch that just comes out of nowhere as you are building it that I absolutely love.

I'm looking forward to the exclusive Lego minifigure preorder bonus. The last 2 games had an exclusive Lex Luthor and Elrond. I hope it's one of the exclusive figures given away at ComicCon like Jean Grey or Black Spiderman.

Where are good places to look for LEGO poly-bags (like the Thor or Iron man ones), bigger bags (like the AT-AT one or the Panda), or mini-fig series bags?

I've been having bad luck finding them in stores lately. There are two Fred Meyers I could find the mini-fig bags at, but the one near me doesn't seem to sell them (or have them in stock at least.
This weekend I went to Toys R Us, Fred Meyer, a Target, and a Walmart and they didn't have any of them in the LEGO sections.

I didn't see them at the LEGO store near me either because they seem to just have a kiosk to make your own mini-fig.

TRU will always have some type of polybags. The newer polybags are seasonal at Target and Walmart so next chance would be before Valentine's Day or Easter. This Xmas, Walmart had 3 Star Wars polybags and Target had the Batmobile polybags.

The Lego Shop will have the holiday themed polybags like the turkey or Santa on a sleigh. From time to time, the Lego Shop will also have a promo for a polybag like the current spend $75 and get a Chima bird. These will be the next 3 polybags available at the Lego Shop:

Basically, wait for the next holiday for them to show up in department stores and Lego Shop or else just go to TRU.
