Sweet. So Cuscoo brought this set to us and it did so well and Notch is so cool as not to be a dick about licensing that an even wider range of sets is coming out of it. Amazing really. I hate announcements like this thought. Another whole range of sets I will want. Great news though!

Pleasantly surprised by the F1 car i just built... It ALMOST knocks the FXX off the throne but not quite. Still i feel this model conveys just what it wants to, i also like the blue round 1x1 stud to represent the driver's helmet lol.

1 regular shot to see what it actually looks like:

and 1 shot with the "pretentious art filter" on ;)

I count two... maybe three new elements in this small set.

- vine elements
- decorative stud caps
- are those arches new?
- and the tiger of course, but since it has been Friendsified I am less excited in it than I could have been.

Friends sets sure get a lot of new parts.

Excellent news. Hope those faces will be printed and not stickers though!

Arches aren't new - http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=88292 (Well, they are new in that color)

But yeah, Friends series got some cool new parts, minidolls, bright colors, cute animals, and some cool sets. Hopefully it's also paying off for LEGO.

Started building the WV Toy Shop. I've decided that as of this year I'm not taking them apart again, as the theme is now up to 5 sets, plus other small winter polys and holiday exclusives. Going to find a way to store them intact going forward.

Many of Xenomurphy's MOCs are of epic scale. Check out his other stuff.

Looks like another $20 Super Hero set winner except for the fact there are dozens of Batman versions and most people don't need another one.

Sadness. My kids may actually like this one. Cool thing is that means 2x2 and other blocks will become in higher demand. I have a ton in bulk, plus PAB always has those type of blocks.
I hope this also means lots of 2x2 tiles!

I'm a bit let down there's no 80's spaceman.

Me too, but I'm positive they'll bring one of them back in one of the movie sets. Remember, they use minifigs to sell their sets. LEGO is smart and know many people want this minifig. LEGO will probably stick it in a $100+ set.

Hey wetwired/ghostmind/et al, any pics of that set that may or may not have had Damian Robin in it? I need to know how badly I need that set :p Great pics of the other upcoming Batman sets.

I don't think they specifically state which robin it is in the sets, there's been a few over the years though....

Thanks for the replies. The LEGO wikia is now listing the set as containing damian, but i'm sure it's all conjecture at this point. It would be pretty major since they've primarily used a tim drake-looking Robin until now...

And wowza that old-style Nightwing's hair is ridiculous. The new one looks so much better.

Jesus. That is insane, and even more so after looking through all the stuff on Flickr. Just...I don't know what to say.

And later in his album, this typewriter is awesome.

Nothing like seeing stuff like his work to bring me back down to earth and make me realize how little talent I really have at making MOCs compared to the big boys.

I picked up a Tenkai Knights minifigure set. It's best described as Transformers meets LEGO. A 2x4 brick basically turns into a minifigure.

Pivoting the hands is different that LEGO minifigures since you have to turn the entire arm too. Most of the pieces fit snugly except for the green guy's helmet which was really loose. The accessories usually fit well except for the green guy's staff. Basically avoid getting the green guy cause he has quality issues but the other 2 I got was decent.

Overall, I think it's an interesting novelty that you should give a shot if you're curious. At $6 a figure, give one a try.

That Arkham guy is a master of the craft. Just...wow.

Yeah, that blew my mind too. The lamp posts are also awesome with how they use a tube and a spray gun whatever it is thingie.

On a different note, I have not had the heart to start taking down the Halloween display, but have started construction on my LEGO Gingerbread House for my Christmas display. Trying to make it like other Winter Village stuff and have the back hollow so you can peek in, which I have never tried before. So it is something new. And trying to think of ways to make a candy style interior to the house, which is even harder. But the challenge also gets the creative juices flowing like nothing else.

Using regular brown bricks for the house, and wishing I had tons of the tan bricks like Sydney Opera House uses. That color is PERFECT for gingerbread.

I am interested in all LEGO "clone" brands out of curiosity. None have matched up to LEGO in terms of quality IMO, but some are close and do have some interesting differences.

I am waiting for a BOGO 50% off or something for those Tenkai Knights figure sets before I get some

What's the compatibility of those to LEGO? Hand size same as minifigs/accessories fit in minifig hands? Heads come off? Helmets or heads interchangeable with minifigs?

Final part of Brickset's review of Parisian Restaurant is up.

Brickset said:
I think I can safely say that this is quite possibly the best LEGO set ever made. Here's why:

The overall design of the building is interesting and well thought-out. Not only the front, but the back too.
It features an unprecedented level of detail throughout, not just on the ground floor and not just on the front.
Unique and clever building techniques which make use of parts in new ways.
New parts, and old parts in new colours, including 300 in olive green.
A long build, but not repetitive and I loved every minute.
No stickers (thanks azbadboy...)
The finished model is a joy to behold and is practical to display. I know that's the case with all modulars but it certainly isn't for, say, the Sydney Opera House.

Get hype, people! Something might have come along to dethrone Pet Shop!

Toys R Us has a Buy 1 Get 1 40% off sale tomorrow on these toys.

The accessories are interchangeable. The heads and helmets do come off and are interchangeable also. The helmets will not fit LEGO heads though.

4 of those are legit figures. I've never seen the black or white ones before though.

Starting with An Unexpected Gathering today or tomorrow. I will than have all the Dwarfs through a combination of some sets and some bricklinking.

Only other LOTR set I want is the Tower of Orthanc. Probably sometime early next year.

Tower of Orthanc is rumored to be done after this year along with first wave of LOTR. I'm not sure how valid it is but keep an eye on it.

I almost out that the response as well. My fault.

This is why I am reading as little as possible about the Parisian Restaurant before it's release. If this set is going to take the crown from the Green Grocer (and the Pet Shop isn't far behind either), then I don't want to know the details of the build ahead of time.

I cannot wait for this one.

The new Ninjago sets are now up on S@H with a December 1st release date. We should be getting at least some of the CITY, Creator and Friends sets then as well. I'm also wondering if these sets will start showing up at TRU in advance like last year... I'm going to be visiting my local store frequently over the next few weeks.

I'm in the same boat. I was really, really underwhelmed with Palace Cinema so I'm hoping for a return to form. I'm staying dark on the restaurant.

OMG!

THAT CARPET!

Are those "legal" uses of cheese slopes in that floor pattern? It looks like they're not attached to anything in some sections. Like they're wedged together: pun intended and not intended.

And I don't care, I just am wondering if I should consider doing things like that so that I can create what I want without worrying about "technically cheating".

I posted info on these awhile ago. The black and white ones are bootleg knockoffs, so buyer beware. Oh yeah, they also have knockoffs of the official LEGO ones like Iron Patriot so read descriptions carefully.
