The Cape worries me a little. Looks very flat. I think I'm going to weave some black wire through the edges to make it malleable and more cape-like. The lack of a hood is a bit disappointing but overall I really like it.
Phasma looks spot on. And those new stormtroopers are win.
Well here a video review of her. Does look a bit flat, but looks to get the job done least.
Heh dang some of the earliest Star Wars sets from the looks of them.

It's funny, I don't think LEGO Star Wars sets have aged terribly well, but that particular X-Wing is super cool IMO.
There's something about it -- like you can clearly trace its design lineage to the Airport sets of the 80s/early 90s, which were the sets I grew up with.

I love the look of that first X-Wing set, I remember my parents got me one for either Christmas or my birthday and was amazed at how cool it looked and the swoosh factor.

Comes out January 19th according to Amazon. Ghostbusters Level Pack, Dr. Who Cyberman, Doc Brown fun pack and Joker/Harley team pack. Next wave after that looks to be in March.

Ordered Slimer, Stay Puft, and the Wicked Witch. Nice deal and I wouldn't have bought these otherwise.
If you have the game make sure you get the Dr. Who Level pack, that goes for everyone with the game. The Scooby Doo pack also comes in real handy as far as abilities, unlocks Scooby Doo hub world and the mystery machine upgrade has a water cannon. Unikitty is also useful and fun as hell to have running around with you especially with the Wicked Witch and stuff she says to her. Can't think of any other ones off the top of my head except for Portal of course.

How long will the first wave of Dimensions packs be available?
I'm in no rush to buy them, but I don't want to miss out on the ones that have minifigs I really want. I'm holding out for really good sales or clearances.

I wish Kylo had a hood to go over his helmet. Still, he looks pretty good.
Oh, well, never say never about getting the game. As far as for display you may want to consider the Doc Brown pack as well then since its a different hair mold. Also the Cyberman pack will be pretty popular since its the only way to get that fig for Dr Who collectors.
Well, this right here is probably the best sale on packs there has been, especially on the ones already marked down. The starter packs were marked way down between BF and Christmas but I think they have started going back up. I don't think anyone really knows what their time frame is for retiring sets yet. I would say all of them will probably be around till at least May when the last of their current waves comes out then after that it will probably be fair game. If you are worried you might want to get the really exclusive figs like Wicked Witch, Portal and Dr. Who to be safe. Maybe BttF too.

Venkman's hair is the same in the Firehouse and the Dimensions set. However, in the Firehouse he's a slimed version and everyone else is a new printing with arm logo patches. The only way to get a "clean" Venkman with arm printing to match the other three from the Firehouse, is to buy the Dimensions Level Pack.

Slimer is different, but barely. In the Dimensions set, his tongue is hanging out of his mouth. In the Firehouse HQ, it's hanging out but the end is pointing upwards, and he also has slime/drool dripping from his mouth.

I walked into Target today to see what sort of LEGO sets they had and the place looks like the end result of a Nickelodeon Super Toy Run. The shelves were empty with maybe 1 Minecraft set and a few Friends sets left on them. Very different than they were a couple weeks ago.
There won't be a sale. The minute it shows sold out at one retailer, the resellers will clean out all the other retailers. The best you can do with UCS/D2C sets is get them during double VIP points promotions. Next one probably won't happen until March.

I'm with you there. I'm wondering if a hood would still be possible... Pick up an extra cape piece and cut it to size maybe... Or just toss the stock cape entirely and fashion a custom cloth cape/hood/shawl.

Finished the UCS Slave-1 tonight, took about 6 hours total. What a great set. I'll take a slight break before digging into the UCS X-wing.

Before the Dimensions/Ideas reveals, wasn't there some rumor or statement that Lego was looking into doing something using all 13 Doctors? I guess that could have been in reference to the game, and how you can play as all 13, but I'm still hoping for at least another set or two, or a CMF line (13 Doctors, the lizard girl, the potato guy, and then a special trans-orange "regeneration" Doctor is my dream).

My renter's insurance is mainly for the Lego and the videogames+computer. Saying that, replacing the computer and games would be far cheaper and easier than trying to replace ALL of that Lego.
I've heard January and February being thrown around - was waiting on confirmation.
I've also heard June for Disney CMF.

Shit. That sucks. I went through similar shit with the Helicarrier this summer. Took weeks to get it fixed. I just have terrible luck with Lego on their website but good luck in the stores.
