Sorry to those that couldn't get a Revan. While i'm not always happy about the required purchases and how much you have to spend to get free stuff I guess this debacle shows how it can be a blessing in disguise. I'm betting thats why the site was especially borked last night more so than usual. Probably a gazillion scalpers ordering multiple seperate orders with just keychains. It was like a perfect storm of promos for them to abuse.

I found the first Dimensions sets in TRU. Got Ghostbusters, Harry Potter and A-Team. Also got one of the minifig packs (I picked the musician one).
Now to wait for 10 gigs of updates...

Picked up the U-Wing and the Shuttle at Wal-Mart this morning...was tough to leave the Tie behind, but I'll probably snag it eventually as well.
After this debacle, I decided to pick up the Rogue One sets from TRU.
Ended up with 4 free polybags (2 FO Finalizers, 2 FO Generals), a free Bricktober minifig set, a free "Creepy Geoffrey & Kids" set, a poster, and some coupons.
I already have Revan from the "May the 4th" that he was offered.

So here's a question for you guys: what Duplo sets come especially recommended for the young ones? Got a nephew who's 2, going on 3 in a few months. To be honest he may not immediately get the idea to be fair, but he's been having some fun building stuff lately with some basic wooden blocks, so I was thinking of tagging something Duplo onto my double VIP order to try giving him for Christmas. So yeah, if anyone's especially knowledgeable about such things, that'd be nice.

Im pretty sure it was actually.
I read the fine print on the deal from the website after my order went through because I thought about doing a second one in case my first one didn't go through and I think it said one per household.
Only reason I got it is because I'm in Europe for a few more days and I'm 9 hours ahead of PST, so I woke up right when the deal went live. Seems crazy it was that limited, especially if it truly was one per household.
Not saying I'm not glad they didn't put a high minimum price for getting the figure, but that might have helped make it not sell out so crazy fast. I know I would have bought a lot more than the little $20 if it was required.
Got a friend who doesn't care about LEGO? Make account in his name and you got two Revans. Easy. Also, just use your work address.

Making the threshold so low made it easy to order just a keychain and get Revan combined with not turning on the Rogue One sets until much later easily exhausted the supply.
I didn't have to pay a scalper to get Revan and i got a keychain I wanted. Tomorrow I can get the Rogue One sets I wanted, double points, and the Xmas Calendar. That is win/win in my book.
Had the Rogue One sets been turned on at the same time as Revan, I think there would be less disappointment. Most I imagine were trying to do one big order. I just was lucky in that I didn't intend to buy any Rogue One sets today.

YMMV on the promos, as I have an established rapport with store management. At the least, you should get the Finalizer and the Bricktober minifig set.

Oh that would be why I only got one confirmation email but have 2 orders in the Order Status. Hopefully they automatically cancel the other one. Otherwise I'll donate the 2nd Revan to the next contest.
Ya I was planning to buy the tank thing, mainly for the minifigs and it's a good piece/price even if the tank thing looks dumb imo. But since it wasn't available and I wanted to order fast I just grabbed the Boba keychain like everyone else. Can always use a Boba keychain.
In case anyone was wondering if Revan had different packaging or anything... nope, 100% identical to first release.
Great to get a second shot at it though.
Anyway, if you love Star Wars sets it looks like they did a really nice job on all of these Rogue One sets, particularly the larger ones. They are reviewing well.

I didn't do this. I am just saying it is easy to do that and doesn't stop the one household rule. Should've ordered a keychain cause I wanted a Revan.

Yeah it's one of my favorite models from Star Wars. I had planned on getting it since the wife and I like Jedi. REALLY tempted by Krennick's shuffle. Looks so awesomely evil.

I'm happy with my old Endor Battle AT-ST anyway.
On another note, this other chain has 25% off EVERYTHING this weekend. Only... they didn't add the Rogue One sets. Watch them add them on monday. And unlike TRU, they don't stock the exclusives so there's no opportunity for a cheap modular or something.

I agree, love how the wings work.
I got the U-Wing, Krennic's Shuttle and the AT-ST. That's the more expensive ones out of the way. I'll get the other two over time.
I also had to pick up some non-LEGO Rogue One stuff (mostly Black Series 6" figures and some Figuarts pre-orders)

Brickset has now listed 10255 Assembly Square, so that adds some credibility to the rumor.

It's a bit messy to have to download separate packs now, but I played a bit of Midway (which I hadn't touched yet) while waiting for my stuff. I hopped into the Harry Potter world and it's pretty great. A huge area including Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, that other town, and surrounding places. Messed around quite a bit, will try Ghostbusters tomorrow.

TLG should worry about fixing their site instead of banning people over a mistake.
Add to the fact that there is no possible way to cancel mistake orders at that time considering their phone support is closed, email is considered too slow according to them, there is no option on the site itself.

Yeah I got the shipping notice too.
Just a heads up, Duplo sets do not offer great building experiences by themself, it is only when you combine a lot of sets that you can get creative yourself and create awesome things.
The Batcave with Batwing is pretty cool, together with the Spider-Man motorcycle it is my sons favourite set and the only one that stayed together longer than a couple of days (and he has three large boxes full with Duplo). The polar set with the whale is pretty cool too.
The basic train set is pretty solid as well. The Disney train with Mickey and Minnie was a bit of a let down, but the figures are excellent.

Awesome, thanks for the tips! And yeah, that definitely helps as I'm certainly a little out of my element here, but he's started showing some interest in building stuff, so I'd certainly love to encourage that!
