It's a dryer, it sits on top of a rubber mat on top of a small fridge and there's no contact with the table or drawers so it's fine.

I put the room to good use today finishing up the Ecto-Wing...

I see your Ecto-Wing and raise you one Ecto-Suit.

Just a quick mockup after my space ones, I was inspired. :D

Vied for a tag related to cocks, so here it is.

I was just looking at the pictures of your setup and thought that X Wing looked familiar so I went back to /r/lego before scrolling down as I hadn't seen your username next to it on there before. Such a good mixup.

You must buy the same set twice in Amazon to qualify for the promotion? Or can you choose two dufferent sets belonging to that list and the 40% will be applied towards the cheaper one?

And it's best to buy 2 sets that are, or nearly, equal in price to maximize the 40%

Looks like the Bogo sale just ended for the day at amazon. It, or something else, may pop up iver the next 11 days of their 12 days promo

That's also great... ^_^ But I'd want to put an actual Larson scanner in this...

I'd probably need to get something custom made, unless you know of another way to do it?

I love this. Any LDD files for it? Need more pics of Ghostbusters X-Wing, too!

Yeah it's actually based on an LDD file someone else created that I modified/improved. When I take better pics I'll post the LDD file for it

I see your Ecto-Wing and raise you one Ecto-Suit.

Haha awesome, are you gonna build it?

Been putting together a lot of the sets in the collection to see if I still like it or not, so far I'm finding that I'm not liking quite a few of the sets in the collection anymore. It's possible my tastes have changed or something! There are a few sets I wasn't that big on to begin with so letting them go was pretty easy. Some of those Forestmen sets though, still too good to let go (Aside from the River Fortress which was too empty)

Well, it's something most people that have done electronics have built a couple times. It should be that difficult to create a tiny version now... It depends how many millimeters you can spare inside.

It would probably require a microcontroller programmer, though, unless you go for a kit that already include a pre-programmed microcontroller. Using a kit like this:
tinyCylon-thumb3.png

and soldering the LEDs directly on the chip would probably do it (the left button isn't required, and the top resistor have far smaller alternatives).

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbhU1BBO0TQ

(in fact, you may already have enough space to put the kit without modifications inside... you would just have to bend the leds sideways)

The chip above is small enough to enter in a 1x1 brick space, but if it's still too large, there's a version that's a good chunk smaller than a 1x1 tile. It would be harder to solder, obviously ;) I have no doubt you can fit half a dozen small CMS diods in a 4x1 tile volume. Since you can put the battery anywhere, it's just a matter of running the wires.

I may really try it, although probably not before summer... I want more free time :/

Edit: to give an idea of scale, quick and dirty:
2kB7ZeO.png

That's the LARGE version of the chip (the one seen above). Yes, there's a version far, far smaller.

A major main floor reno has caused all things LEGO to be moved into the basement office. I actually like it better like this. Considering I barely do any building, I apparently love to sort.

Caught my 10 year old (who is way too cool to be playing with LEGO) building that white building in her spare time today.

Potato quality pic incoming:

Sounds like me. I have sorted more than built the past year. I do build sets when not sorting, but I haven't done MOCing for quite awhile except for very small items for my LEGO comics/photography.

Is your secret LEGO stash area full yet?

Here's a couple of links I came across in the past when I spent ten minutes looking into something similar but got sidetracked

http://hackaday.com/2015/05/19/bricking-microcontrollers-sparks-interest-in-programming/

http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/gadgets/a15601/mcookie-arduino-lego-microcontroller/

http://littlebits.cc/shop/kits
(These kits sell for about half of retail on Amazon.com, which may make up for some of their short comings, according to the reviews)

There's a lot of interesting ideas for interior... I really like the "american diner" style of this one:
http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/123135-moc-cafe-corner-interior/

I'll definitively keep some ideas (and the juke box microbuild)

Is there an LDD file for the interior, including the jukebox?

Do you have LDD file for A-Team van, as well?

Sandcrawler is 20% off again.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JZMYOOC/?tag=neogaf0e-20

It's lowest recorded price ever is only $3 less than it is now. Good time to get it.

Also... SHIELD Helicarrier is $50 off for one day only. Cheapest it has ever been, so far.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NHQFMKM/?tag=neogaf0e-20

I've been mulling over the Sandcrawler for the past week. I watched and read nearly every review and and still can't decide. If I had access to this price I would have pulled the trigger, for sure.

Meh, Sandcrawler is still a brown box supported by Technic beams. I've stopped bothering about that and EW. On the other hand, I'm a little interested in getting more of the OT ships, with the Y-Wing coming out. But that would mean having to track down a B-Wing before they get expensive, and finding a recentish TIE. Maybe a color swap of the TFA one could be made?

If you've done that much research and still haven't pulled the trigger, maybe it's best you not buy it. Sounds like buyer's remorse waiting to happen. I do like the set, and you do get your money's worth IMO. Just make sure it's something you want if you are gonna drop that much $$$.

I find that generally, if I'm not hyped enough to buy something day one, I probably won't care later either, regardless of price.

Built the Winter Holiday Train and Santa's Workshop over the weekend.

Loved them both. Especially the Train surpassed my expectations. I was no fan when it was released (due to the high price over here for the most part), but seeing it in person made me buy it anyway (and buying it in Paris, where it was 10 euro's cheaper). Having it build I actually really, really like it. It looks incredible. It's pretty fun to build and everybody who sees it is immidiatly charmed. Only negative I have is that the rotating christmass tree rarely rotates as the weels attached to the mechanism don't alyways roll on the rails. I wonder if I did something wrong, but I don't believe so.

Santa's Workshop is pretty great too. I prefered the build of the Toy Shop, but it looks great. The window build of the lower part of the building was incredible though. So simple, but such a great result!

We're having a nice christmass decoration going on our windowstill now. A train crossing a wintery village (of two buildings, lol). So glad we invested in these sets in stead of a christmass tree, lights en decorations. And though the set-up is allready crowded, I'll probably get next years set again...

The problem I have is, as well as taking an extra hit in price because where I live, it's going to cost me lots of extra time and $$$ to get it to look how I want -- specifically with less studs on-top. Something like this:
Igxaf0k.jpg

The original Sandcrawler was completely smooth on the outside. You would think they would replicate this feature in a UCS model.

The other issue is it will be a long time, if ever, that another Sandcrawler will be produced. Worse still, there's a trend where Original Trilogy SW sets are getting dumbed down with each new iteration.

Personally don't mind the studs on top. I feel like some builders try so hard to hide the studs and it really defy's the LEGO aesthetic rather than try to embrace it. It does look nice, but the studs look just fine to me.

But at the same time, I get that a lot of people don't like the Sandcrawler for many other reasons -- such as that it feels like a shell with not a lot going on inside. It's a divisive set, no matter how you slice it. If you are a huge OT fan though, I think it's a good one to buy if only to use as a basis for a custom version. Plus, good minifigures.

I may not have dropped cash on the Sandcrawler today, but I did pick up the Imperial Assault Hovertank (20% off) so I can hopefully receive it and build it before Rogue One. I'll have all of the Rogue One sets other than the TIE Striker (still holding off for a 30% off deal at some point.)

Aaaaand... my LEGO Batman Movie Batcave should arrive Tues with the Snowglobe... lots of goodies this month.

I picked up the Sandcrawler pretty much immediately, not just because I'm a LEGO Star Wars collector, but also because it keeps reminding me of one of my favourite toys as a child...

Amazing. I never had this, but did have all the figures (still do).

The worst decision I ever made was ripping out the cardboard interior to my Millenium Falcon to make more room.

My white whale was the AT-AT, which is why I was so happy when TLG released that $150 CDN version a couple of years ago. I still love that thing.

I finished Krennic's shuttle over the weekend. I love how accessible the cockpit is! Time to build a stand for it....

I had snuck in a back-order of the Pet Shop on the LEGO website a while ago when it was on sale, and just got a notice that they canceled it. Pretty bummed :/ I could get it on Amazon for $50 more I guess.

Wow, I guess this is it. If I can find one at the shop on Wednesday, I'm tempted to get another if I ever would want one. But they were always unreasonably expensive here - about $30 more than a regular modular, for some reason.

Grr. I can't locate Joker's Lowrider anywhere in the area around me. None of the usual suspects (Walmart, Toys R Us, The Lego Store) have it, either online of off.

Stupid Canada. :(

I will get the Tran, but I'll get it next season or if like this year LEGO sells it all year round, I'll wait for a good promo.

Train screams expansion. Any good MOCs with additional train carts yet?

I've just kind of got back into Legos as an adult and have started with several of the Star Wars vehicles. I was also wanting to build some kind of stand to display them (particularly for the X-wing so I can display it with the wings open) but wasn't really sure what the best way to do this would be.

Is there any kind of tried and true method for this? I assume there are probably some good go to ideas out there already.

Silly me bought the holiday train to go around the tree but I totally forgot to get the components to motorize it and it looks like the parts are now on back order until after the holidays. So before I go pay a $30 premium, are there any places or suggestions on how to get them?

call your local LEGO store. they might have some in stock as they sent then when they shipped the trains to the stores

This and another option is getting another train set like the Cargo Train or Passenger Train (both of which are on sale now) that comes with the train power functions. You would get the added benefit of another train set and more tracks.

Ponn with the best advice. You get more track and parts to make your own trains along with all the parts necessary to motorize a train. It will tide you over while you wait for a rechargeable battery pack and AC adapter to come in.

The Cargo Train will also give you a better assortment of parts and track to work with.

This is what I did; I'm still waiting for the Holiday train to arrive, but I got the High-Speed train in the meantime and had it do a few test runs under the tree :D

I build stands for all of the ships I plan to display. If you look at the pic I posted you can see the ones I did for two ships on the right.

Ren's Shuttle is just a super basic one that uses clear cylinders but it looks decent.

Is your secret LEGO stash area full yet?

SECRET LEGO CLOSET!

I actually got rid of a ton of the backlog over the last year by donating them to various charities. There are still a few items in there but I've also drastically cut back my purchases so it hasn't been as packed as it was.

Find somewhere under the ship where a Technic bar fits, then use Technic bars of various angles to build the stand you need. The good thing about the angled ones is that they're very stable but still allow for dynamic poses.

You can also just build a straight stand out of clear rounded windows or transparent 2x2 round blocks or anything transparent.

This advice is amazing! Thanks! Toys R Us has it for the same price apparently too so I'm going to swing by after work to grab it. Thanks again!

I am a big fan of the technic approach, especially angling the ships. These last few I made I also integrated stands to hold the mini figures from the set.
