Dunno if I'm gonna go back and get ones I missed. Seems silly since I'm not gonna have them all anyway.
Is it still available on LEGO.com? Then you didn't miss it. :)
EDIT: Looked on LEGO.com. It is gone...

Honestly, if you hunt quickly, you might find Pet Shop for close or just barely above MSRP at this point. It will only increase from here on out. If you intend to strike, the time is now.

Yeah I was checking eBay. I could probably snag one around MSRP but I'm not jumping into this until I know how I feel about modulars in general. Trying to be smart here regardless of how foolhardy it is.

Seeing how deep and awesomely they are digging with LEGO Batman, my heart is aflutter with the thought of what they could do with a LEGO Spider-Man, Avengers, or X-Men film.
Heck, give me a LEGO Spider-Verse film and give me a CMF line of every Spidey ever.

And as huge as the roster and villains list that Avengers has, I feel a LEGO X-Men CMF line and sets would be some of the most fun and random figures ever.

There is no more Matt Hagen. There is only...Clayface!

Absolutely love this set. It isn't as poseable or fun as Lex Luthor Power Armor or Hulkbuster, but it is about as perfect a representation as we will ever get of the classic Batman villain. My bias towards the character will show, but this set is worth every single penny.

On a side note, is this the first ever Mariah Carey figure ever in this set?

Quick and dirty potato cam of the action on my kitchen table now. I need to go upstairs for Infernox, my demon MOC, and my Abominable Snowman to join the fight.

This Simpsons house box is big af

Had a gift receipt for the falcon I got last week and decided to return it and spend $50 on the Simpsons house , was close to buying the kwik e mart, maybe I should have bought that 🤔
Or maybe I should have had two Falcons

The world has been altered

If you think the Simpsons box is big, you should get the Ghostbusters HQ, Disney Castle, or Best Star. The Simpsons box is small compared to those.

You mean one of each, yesss?
Wasn't even able to do it, double-modular MODs are usually great. ^_^

Got two pet shops to do symmetric houses, I'll probably get a second Detective office to extend the pool room (I think it's nicer when broadened) and after seeing the full-corner bank here, I wonder...

Ordered Assembly Square with some new years eve gifts and 75 euro in VIP points.

Will barely fit the street on the mantelpiece, so next year i'll have a problem

or have to move to a bigger place

Anyone else think we should start an OT6 to coincide with the release of TLBM? We could have the official thread in OT link to OT6, be a great way to lure in unsuspecting victims.

What is the best way to dismantle a large piece so it's not so difficult when putting back together again?

I have R2D2, an AT-ST, UC Millenium Falcon and some of the Ideas sets.

I want to pack some up to make room for Slave 1 but I don't want to just chuck all the pieces in a bag as when the next time comes, I'll be a nightmware to sort out. Especially the MF.

How do people deal with that?

I mean I think the easiest way to handle that situation is let me come up there and take the Falcon home with me. No disassembly and storage on your part required.

Part way through my 4th attempt, I was very close to selling it. It's not a nice piece to put together. Also, good luck getting it through my door, Jesus it's big.

Drop them from a low height and see where they break apart to show the weakest connections?

Not an easy task selectively breaking down a model for easy reassembly as a lot of overlapping is done to make the model stronger. May spend a lot of time figuring out where a lot of single pieces go. Also it won't necessarily save a lot of space.

While dismantling it's pretty easy to sort into very generic piles and place in separate bags. Sorting by each element is the painful sorting. It's also fun to rebuild something you have built in a long time.

Pet Shop for between $180-85 do it or too much?

It was $120 less than a month ago on Lego store, to keep it under perspective. You may still find s deal around tbe retail price of $150, and tvere should be a lot of sets out there. A few months from now the prices will probably raise. Now? I would try to look for auctions with "best offer" option and try a price of $150. You may get it.

Yeah I've been finding those but shipping isn't free and it isn't a cheap set to ship lol. Bricklink has some at retail but it's $20-30 to ship. I'm gonna keep trying for $150 though.

Well, shit. Went up to Westfield Stratford today and saw Assembly Square going for £180. Didn't have the money so wrote it off for the foreseeable future. Decided to go play blackjack in the casino upstairs for the first time (was planning to do so before seeing the set anyway) and an hour or so later I'm walking out with £200 and two free bottles of Armand de Brignac Gold Brut.

2017 off to a good start.

I've got a brand new, unopened Pet Shop that I'll sell for $140 plus whatever shipping is. Let me know if you're interested and we can figure out details.

I'm thinking of joining the true dark side and buying a UCS Star Wars set...

The question is; TIE or Slave? The former's more iconic, yet the latter is a better build and has a slightly better value. Help me, LegoGAF, you're my only hope.

You buying for the build or the display piece? I'll always recommend Slave I over the TIE overall but it doesn't display nearly as nicely.

The thing is I'm not sure. At that price point a mediocre build (albeit a detailed one) would make me feel underwhelmed, but with the Slave I I'll get a great build and then a much more obscure Star Wars ship. Most of what I've bought so far (outside of the Tower Bridge, which only had a 'decent' build) has had both good-great builds and look amazing on display so I haven't decided what I prefer yet.

Maybe I should wait and see what they're going to be putting out next before buying one; if it's an AT-AT or the Falcon I'm there.

I've been looking back at 2016 and one of the highlights of the year was my trip to Billund. The couple of days I spent there were the happiest I've had in years. Here are some photos you might find interesting.

- Where it all began, Ole Kirk's house:

- The HQ:

Real-life LEGO bikes ;P

- A shelf you'd see nowhere else!

- Speaking of the LEGO house, it should be finished this year:

- If at first you don't succeed, try, try again:

(Few more pictures here)

Bonus picture: Two of my favorite places on Earth come together: The Kennedy Space Center built in Billund's Legoland:

Pet Shop is probably the most hoarded modular out there. Stayed on shelves for 5 years and every LEGO investor bought it like crazy hoping to capture modular magic from the past.

Prices should stay close to retail or slightly above for awhile.

Once you buy the TIE you will want a X-Wing to go with it. This will lead you to looking at aftermarket prices for the Red Five.

You have been warned.

That's in fact one of the reasons I'm hesitant about the Slave 1. It's obscure enough that having just that on display would 'feel' more weird than if I just had a TIE Fighter so therefore I'd be more inclined to buy another... and another... etc. I'm already deep into the modular hole and the Creator Expert Cars are my jam, maybe I shouldn't get into another series.

UCS X-Wing is only about $60 over msrp on Amazon right now from most sellers. And that is with free shipping and no tax from most of them, thats really not bad at all. The longer you wait though...

What do you guys do with sets after you build them? I don't really have space to keep them together....seems like kind of a waste just taking them apart and putting it back in the box.

I'm space limited too, so sets I don't want to keep out for a while get broken down into sections and placed into labeled Ziploc bags, which end up in a storage tote. The boxes get broken down, flattened, and stored in another storage tote that can roll under a bed. Maybe once I get my nerd cave established I can work on a better showcase.

It really depends on what type of LEGO fan you are.

Some of us build sets from the instructions, and when we aren't displaying the set it goes into a ziploc bag for storage. Whether we keep the box, flattening it to conserve space, or toss the box is another variable.

Some of us build sets from the instructions, and when we are done displaying a set we part it out for our MOC-building collection.

Some of us just buy sets for their specific parts, and immediately part them out for MOCs.

Some of us are addicted to parting out sets but never get around to building much with them.

Some of us are addicted to buying sets, never building them, and then storing the sealed boxes on every shelf and spare space we can find around the house.

Some of us (few or none in this thread) speculate in LEGO, buy large numbers of sets with high resale potential, and rent out a storage container to manage our reseller inventory.

For those of you that have The Lego Batman Movie 70911 - Penguin Arctic Roller - Do your front wheels spin freely?
My front wheels are extremely tight and do not spin freely. Took apart bottom half and I'm seeing that the problem occurs when I add in the two dark stone grey bricks 1x2 with holes. It squeezes the parts together tightly and no longer allows for free spin. Any one else have this issue?

First, buy some ziploc bags and start flattening those boxes now to start saving space. Second take a deep look and be honest with yourself if you are going to keep buying sets or not (and if you plan on keep posting or even looking in this thread you will, you will). If so then take some money and invest in some kind of display, I believe you will display cases talked about throughout the thread. I personally got some shelving put up on the walls for display and that works out great for me. You just have to mindful of the spacing. If you have an extra room you can turn into a Lego room than, I hate you and i'm insanely jealous. Just kidding I don't hate you, but I still would be insanely jealous.

I just watched Jang's review tonight and he said the same thing. Such a strange design flaw for LEGO to make.
