Congrats on reaching the goal Sangetsu!

Is DriveClubVR fun to play without a steering wheel? I know it adds to the 'realism' having one but is it fun to play with just the DS4?

Man you have no idea how torned up inside I am about this. I want a wheel with FFB to make it worth it. But they're hard to order in Canada at a decent price.

And then part of me thinks just controller is fine. But I want my dad to try this at some point, and would work way better with a wheel.

I was not actually aware of this. What are the problems? Just lack of availability or is just our dollar jacking up prices beyond all reason?

I'd consider buying a new FFB wheel as well, but with VR, I think I might also splurge for the stand to properly weigh it down on the floor. But only if a lot of decent VR driving experiences start coming out. Drive Club is a good start, but I want to see more.

Similarly, I'm a cockpit fighter fan, and I really miss the X-Wing/Wing Commander days. If enough cockpit games come out, I'd consider splurging for a HOTAS stick.

Haha loved his reaction as well. Reactions like these are the icing on the VR cake!

Letting people demo VR and watching their reaction is almost as fun as playing in VR. Almost.

I'm not getting a PSVR at launch (I already have 3 VR devices and that money can go to other stuff for now) but I can't wait to read the happy GAF posts!

That Dawg stream looks a bit rough in terms of jaggies. Is that Youtube compression effect, or more representative of gameplay?

Honestly I look forward to my family/friend's reaction as much as I look forward to experiencing some of the PSVR software for the very first time. I live off genuine reactions of excitement/wonder/awe, they breathe life into me lol.

And in 2 years, I'll blow their minds again with 2nd generation Vive hopefully aka the real deal. God I cannot freaking wait for the hardware & software to mature. Still incredibly excited for VR as I was couple of years ago.

You still use your Vive on a daily/weekly basis right? Got pretty damn good mileage out of it I bet even in it's infancy stage.

I am one the fence on getting DriveClubVR because of this. I know my GF would love playing it with the wheel. I had her try the Best Buy demo of PSVR and she was impressed. That is high praise coming from her because she is not a fan of VR and is now more likely to try it out and accept it. She loves racing games and I was hoping that DriveClubVR with the PSVR helmet would suffice in really WOWing and being fun for her. Otherwise, I would put down on a steering wheel if it is THAT much better than with the DS4.

Just tried Rigs at Best Buy. It's solidified my purchase! Soo fucking good!!! That cockpit is legit and it's amazing.

Graphics wise it's one of the stronger titles as well. That Guerilla graphics definitely present if you will.

I am having PSVR party next week with a bunch of my friend, most of them tried only Google Cardboard, I am ready to blow their mind once positional tracking and interactivity with Move/DS4 is involved. Still thinking about what titles should I pick up, KTaNE is pretty much lock, also looking forward to Playroom VR.

Just realized I didn't even notice SDE whatsoever in Rigs in the PSVR. Those sub pixels really help.

Didn't with Eve: Valkyrie either. Though, I forgot to look for it. I was so engrossed in the demo. Funny thing is, I kept forgetting I could keep turning my head to look around. So good.

I was considering getting the Vive this year. However, I think for a similar cost, I can get a PS4 & PSVR right? Realistically, how much am I in for if I do this? Maybe some good Black Friday deals pop up as well...

A bonus for me is I'll get to play all the PS4 exclusives I've been missing out on.

Really hoping PS VR is successful so we get more games for Vive

Far Point is the only PSVR game that I'm interested in. Besides it, games with VR support like Resident Evil 7, Driveclub and GTSport are the other ones I'd try out.

Whenever Far Point is out, I will give it a go.

Best wishes.

Thanks for your impression, since where I went today didn't have the new demos, I couldn't try it. I'm gonna keep my pre-order based on what you said! No pressure on you or anything :p

I'm having a PSVR party with some friends on Friday, then another one on Saturday. Couldn't fit everyone that wanted to come in one evening.

Didn't really noticed one for Battlezone either. I did notice a small one in July for London Heist, or maybe just in the demo menu.

Thanks to a friend letting me borrow his ps4 (sold mine and will not have one till the Pro), I'll be able to play PSVR for a few days at least next week, and we'll probably have a PSVR party on Friday or Saturday night.

I am so salty about not picking up eve valkyrie because I thought for sure the digital price was staying 20... damn, I simply can't bring myself to put 60 for it now :(

Get on that spreadsheet!

I tried Eve at Best Buy and at the end of it I felt a little headache coming on. Is there any known issue with that demo like its framerate not being locked, frame consistancy being bad etc? It could just be because of the barrel roll or two I did midway through. I need to try VR again a few more time before saying I want it because i dont want to plunk down hundreds of dollars just to give me a headache every time I use the thing.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR MAKING MY DREAM TO PLAY WITH YOU GUYS AT LAUNCH REAL!!!

I would have never thought this would have happened, yesterday I was super bummed out but figured a 2 month wait wasn't bad you guys really made it possible. I Would like to thank every one and each of you. I know it isn't much but to everyone who donated I will PM a small thank you note and a sneak peek preview of the PSVR OT before it launches. Also there will be a Special Thanks section where I will mention everyone who help me out in my moment of need (Will also include anonymous donations in the thank you message)

Again I am spechless and I have already communicated the details to Sephiroth so your donations are in good hands.

Thank you all!

Gaf = <3

Glad to help :)

Has anyone been charged from Amazon yet?

My status says arriving Thursday but I have not been charged yet.

Am I worrying too early that something might go wrong?

I was thinking they charged right before shipping and my order says it's shipping on the 11th.

Yeh, they charge when the status changes to 'Preparing for Dispatch'. This probably won't happen until Wednesday (UK here, so expedited is one day delivery).

Yup, almost every day since April. The games aren't there just yet but there is a lot of stuff to try and you sometimes stumble upon some real gems. I'm hoping PSVR ignites some more games to come over to Vive. Even if I have to wait, that's fine. I just want everyone to have a lot of stuff to play regardless of platform.

I go camping for the weekend and I miss both the $20 EVE deal and getting a chance to help out Sangestu-II. Geez... Never leaving the house again.

Sometimes they don't ship until the day before. Sometimes that causes delays in receiving your stuff. Hasn't happened to me a few times, but I guess it's there way of avoiding stuff getting out early. You can worry all you want, but at the end of the day there isn't much you can do.

Just tried batman today, jittery hands were a common issue, but not a terrible one. Actually I played most of the preview games and then some. My main disappointment was RIGS, but probably just because I sucked at it.

Okay, sorry if this is totally dumb but...

I dug out my Move controller that hasn't been touched for years. I'm going to charge it but wonder how can I check the battery life? What I mean is, is there some sort of way to keep the thing on or does it turn itself off after a while of no use? (I'm assuming the latter will happen)

The reason why I want to test the battery life is to see if I need to order two Move controllers in time for Thursday (or a new battery) as I saw on here if a Move controller has been left for years the battery can become useless.

The only indicator I know of is when you press hold home on PS4 and it shows your battery percentage indicator with three levels.

Sync them to your PS4 while you game on a normal DS4 and every now and then go out to PS Screen and hold the T button and move the tiles left and right with the move controllers until they die out to see how long the charge last on them.

That's what I did.

Probably a mix of youtube compression, social screen, and some jaggies. Jaggies will probably vary game-to-game and by developer with how much AA they can afford to use (and this is something the Pro will probably help with further) and obviously the screen is not going to be as sharp as a 1080p/4K TV, but I think almost everything streamed is from the 2D cropped social screen version and not what's actually seen in the headset, which is reportedly always worse than how it looks in the real headset, including framerate which is much lower on the social screen output.

Most of the reviews seem pleasantly surprised how the games look.

I didn't think of that (stupid of me). I'll try that, thanks.

I just thought, I won't have a camera for the PS4 until Thursday. However, I can do as you say, but on the PS3.

Get one of these and plug it inline when the battery is completely depleted. As it charges it will record the capacity of the battery and once fully charged you can check the recorded capacity against the capacity of the battery when new which I believe is 1380mAh. It wont be totally accurate but will give you a rough idea.

Yeah I just played RIGS today and sucked at it as well. It was a fun game it just seems like it will take time to get used to the control scheme.

You don't need the camera to use the moves

Thanks for the link. That's a nice price.

There's also different mechs with different playstyles in the full game. I actually managed to win a "halftime" today but it wasn't easy, can't wait to try out the other mechs. Try them all out and see which one feels better to you.
