Most straight males are less concerned with the shape of their ass, and honestly for most men & women standard sqauts and deadlifts do give most people's ass a shape.
But, lot's of woman figure models do use the hip thrust to improve butt shape. You can see on youtube videos of women doing 350lb+ hip thrusts.
So realistically if squats & deadlifts didn't work to give a person an ass they like, someone may have to work up to really heavy several hundred pound hip thrusts to overcome the flat ass genetic limitations of thier body.
If you don't use a thick enough padding on or under the bar, you'll make a face like Tebow's as you feel the heavily weighted bar press directly into your hip bones.
