I'm curious, how was GAF back then? Because I can't even imagine the beginnings of a forum that is currently one of bigger (or maybe even the biggest) gaming forum on the Internet.

That wasn't nearly the beginning of gaf, just the last major iteration. It had been going for at least 7 years prior to that, but obviously not with the same userbase. There was no OT... everything was together.

Oh god, it just occurred to me that this year marks not only my 35th birthday, but my 15th year on gaf.
Lies, the internet didn't exist back then.
I'm glad my internet forum history is dead and buried and no one can find it because it was awfully embarrasing.

While sigs are very definitely a bad idea, I kind of wish they'd allow us to add links along the lines of Bandcamp's setup to have a pseudosignature. You could have a blacklist to make sure people weren't adding meatspin and enforce a 5-link-max / 16 chars for link. That way people could pimp their own OTs, link to YT, etc.

Wow, this is literally the same story as me just two days ago. It was also rather difficult, but I'm glad it worked out well for the both of us. =P
(The friend I outted myself to is different from the one I'm crushing on a few pages back. That one... may be a bit more difficult. *sigh*)
I know it's a gaming-focussed forum, but I'm still surprised they don't allow you to add links to Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, etc to your profile at least.

Strange. I changed it some time ago and had no issues. Anyway, time to reply to something two (100PPP) pages old...
I felt lazy and didn't want to hunt through all the webpages looking for a source. Incidentally all the ones in the first page gave I couldn't find any links to a source if I Ctrl+F for source. Mark Sisson's blog (I suppose) is also one of those. I found this blog post where he stated the same, but I couldn't find the source. Does he list some in the books? I did see a couple of links to some studies in other blog posts.
Can you setup one with your cell phone/internet/etc provider. I got mine through my internet provider.
They don't allow 'free' email addresses.

So after a long sabbatical due to my braces, I finally started hooking-up again. And fuck me, for the first time ever, I can't cum. I was hard and enjoying my time and all but I just couldn't cum. There's plenty you can do even if your wear braces. As for the other, I wouldn't worry about it. If it continues then maybe it will be something to look at.
On a hindsight that's true. But then again I was not sure how easy it'd be to find a hookup who wants to do things with someone who wears braces. I'm just glad it's gone now since it also affected the enjoyment of my eating time.
As for the other problem, surprise surprise I had no problem afterwards just reliving the encounter. I guess it's nerves?

So, I am routinely on the opposite end of things: I'm the guy who practically blows at the drop of a hat and can't usually make the other guy cum, so they always end up finishing on their own. I wouldn't say it "offends" me, but it's problematic from the perspective that I am apparently not skilled enough at what we're doing and that it's also embarrassing to have such low stamina. No one has specifically complained about this to me, but body language makes it clear that they're somewhat disappointed in my [lack of] performance.
I'm not trying to make it into a better/worse situation, only point out that these types of stresses and frustrations go both ways and that maybe it isn't worth worrying about too much.
True true. Lesson learned though. Next time I'll try to abstain from porn if I'm about to hook up in a few days time.

The 18 year old dude I went out with two days ago had braces, and I had never been with someone with braces before, but kissing him didn't feel any different than kissing someone without braces... but now that I think of it, he went "very light" on oral, and it wasn't memorable at all. I don't know if that had to do with his braces or his lack of experience.

I think I might be now officially dating someone I really like
