Lol, I recently watched a pretty mediocre Mexican film with some friends, and they were a bit uncomfortable during a gay sex scene (I wasn't! I've always found one of the actors involved pretty easy on the eyes :p). Not "ewww gross" but a bit weirded out. Cultural or otherwise, I think I have accepted people are not very comfortable with gay sex.

Yep, know a lot of guys (on the internet and in persona) who kill men, women, children and anything else in video games and watch very kinky pornography but somehow, two guys kissing is where they draw the line and apparently feel grossed out by.

That is homophobia, no question about it.

Probably. Good thing I found some new people that I chill with that didn't even blink once at the sex scenes in GoT, straight or gay. I kinda stopped meeting the people who react so badly at same sex affection over the last year, one after the other. They made me angry and I don't want to associate with people who make me feel bad about myself and my sexuality.

Hi Christopher! :)
What's up?

Which movie was that?

It's pretty hard for me to find any good, or at least find a Mexican movie I enjoy. They're usually heavy with the swearing and way too explicit with the sex scenes and well I don't enjoy that very much at all. But I'm curious about the film you're talking about.

Happy for you! That's the smartest way of going about it IMO.

Pan's Labyrinth?

Spanish =P

Mexican-Spanish :p But it's a huge exception to the rule. Most modern Mexican films are incredibly pretentious, same-ish and they tend to try really hard to "reflect the social realities of Mexico in an oh-so-clever and artistic way!".

My backlog is almost finished.

Just need to finish Pokemon X again and get on Digital Devil Saga 2.

To be fair, that's the goal of any hack writer.

Such comments are not an attack on straight people, they are targeted against women.

It's misogyny.
Women don't have to tiptoe around the fact that they use their vaginas for more than visits to the bathroom and giving birth. Misogyny is a serious issue, but I don't see how negative reactions to vaginas are on equal ground with negative reactions to gay sex and displays of affection. Most women are straight. Being straight is an advantage in a world where straight = normal. For one thing, straight people (including straight women) don't have to pretend they sleep with the same sex to avoid awkwardness and evade public abuse.

I still think the "ew gross" sentiment is just the result of truthfully not liking the idea of a certain type of sex. Gays dislike straight or lesbian sex, straights dislike gay sex, and you could broaden that idea to certain kinks like sex with heavy, skinny, young looking, old, masculine, feminine, ... people. If it's not your thing, you most likely find it uncomfortable or gross.

In other words, the intent of most people saying gay sex is gross, is not to dehumanize or insult gays, or to distance themselves from gays. It's a genuine reaction. And it's the intent of actions that determines whether something is homophobic/racist/sexist/... imho.

So while I understand that negative reactions to the idea of gay sex are yet another drop in the bucket of negative expressions towards homosexuality, I don't find it fair to say "ew gay sex" is a big no-no because it contributes to a certain narrative, while saying "ew straight sex" is a-okay because who cares... You're basically asking the straight community at large to censor thheir own natural feelings and reactions, just to offset the damage being done by a smaller group of douchebags. I find that unreasonable.
I don't question that the "eww gross reactions" are genuine. My point was that, regardless of any intention to insult or dehumanize, those reactions do insult and dehumanize because they add to the toxic atmosphere of homophobic sentiment. A lack of hostile intent hardly matters when that voice is part of a chorus. One reason bigots can compare us to goat molesters and child rapists without offending everyone and being driven out of public life is that people with more moderate opinions have done their part to make homophobia normal. LGBT people can be bullied and degraded out in the open, in school and at work, because there's a collective attitude that we're not normal. We're different, we're separate, we're gross. This is dehumanization in action.

Regarding your point about self-censorship, you could make the same argument against self-censoring racist impulses. Why shouldn't people walk around spewing racial slurs left and right, and speaking up when interracial couples make them feel uncomfortable? Because people can be better than their knee-jerk emotional reactions would have them behave. Tolerance does involve a degree of self-censorship. There are times when we choose not to say what's on our minds because we value other people's feelings over our urge to voice petty and hurtful thoughts. Being respectful or at least diplomatic can make life better for everyone.

Nada let's talk about happy things this page is depressing

Sure. I'll throw something out. What's happier than making your bum looks fabulous?

I kind of want to upgrade my underwear from the Hanes and stuff. Anyone got any brand or materials that they recommend? Let's say $30 and below. I remember Naked Snake had quite a collection, but it might be creepy to PM him out of nowhere with this question.

Thongs and speedos should be the default for undergarments.

I'm going through my WiiU VC backlog. So far Earthbound has been amazing, I love the characters and the world in general. Next is going to be Super Metroid.

Super Metroid is by and large a brilliant game, provided you have the patience to figure out where you need to go yourself. I'd like to see what you think of it once you're done.

If it is like Metroid Prime Trilogy I'll surely love it. I hope is not as slow as Metroid 2 though, that game is unplayable for me

Earthbound is such a magical game. If you liked it so far, then you're not gonna get disappointed by the ending!

SM hits the ground running and isn't hampered by Metroid hunting.

Super Metroid has far more in common with the original Prime than it does the sequels, so if you enjoyed 1 more than those two I think you'll be quite pleased.

Prime 2 is my favorite Metroid game, popular consensus be damned.

I think I'm far from that yet, but I really hope it is great, this game might be the best JRPG I have ever played

Sounds good. My favorite is Prime 2 too, but I definitly don't want to go through a similar game again :p

Apropos Earthbound, I'm still stuck on the boss in the cave (the one after the biker boss with the tank). Don't know what tactics I should use on him. :/

PSI Rockin' and bring those hamburgers with you. And grind. Grind like hell because this game is very difficult at the beginning

If you can, then try to level up before fighting him. I got stuck a really long time in Fourside's
Department Store
. I had to do a lot of grinding with those damn Mad taxis and Crazed Signs.

What is that stream you're talking about? Is there some kind of special event or convention going on right now?

No, he will troll me as he always does, and my question will not be answered ;(

I think we're all just a bit eager to talk about cocks in bums tbh :(

I really would like to talk about it, even if I don't have any experience :p

Fair enough.
He seemed a bit full of himself.

Same lol.
A little bit, yeah. Don't know if that is genuine or if he just acts like that in public generally.

And the anal thread doesn't beat the Oral thread from Watch Da Birdie a few months ago.

After watching porn and finishing your "business" whatever I was watching that was sexy 5 seconds ago is now gross and I have to turn it off quickly :p

Lol I'm not the only one.

Sex produces a very raw emotional response, I don't get why people should be just ok with it, no matter the type of sex.

Also people are not used to displays of affection so it weirds them out. It really freaked out my friends when they saw me kissing someone else for the first time (it didn't help it was a french kiss :p), I don't think that makes them homophobic, it's simply something you don't see everyday. Also public kissing is kind of gross no matter who.

Also, holding hands. This is something that simply doesn't happen back in Colombia, but it's common in Rio. The first time they saw it they were shocked, now they don't bat an eye. And I really don't think that first shock was homophobic. People just are not used to things.

Being a man (gay or straight) is a far, far bigger advantage in life than being woman.

Sorry what to you? No offence, but do you think it's impossible to look at individual parts of things, whether living or inanimate, of larger scale and find them either pleasing or displeasing, without being against or for the wholeness of the bigger picture?

There's a world of difference between "not my cuppa tea" and "your genitals are gross and repulsive". Gay men who feel the need to express the latter are as bad as those who feel the need to say how grossed out they are by the idea of two men having sex.

Where do you live? It's a pretty common sight here in Austria when you are in bars, train stations or in parks, sadly just with m/f couples though. (My country is pretty homophobic, but we begin to see some changes thanks to people like Conchita Wurst.)
