As someone who couldn't be described as "masculine" or "feminine", I always wondered where the fuck I stand on that scale, then I realised that it really doesn't friggin' matter. If someone tells you to act/stop acting a certain way, they're not worth hanging around with imo, either accept me as I am or not at all.

Thank you all for your responses! I'm really curious about what the rest of you all think.

"My Boyfriend is gay" by this lady who's name name I forgot.

Also, Johnny McGovern has a ton. Big Dipper and Casswell's "hot homo"
Taylor Swift, Professional Beard for Hire?

Masculine guys are hot
I feel pretty damn masculine lately because I've been almost exclusively hanging out with guys.

I was mad depressed, alone and timid but now I feel attractive, serious, respected and just all around good.

I'm not trying to brag I just feel really confident recently

So it seems my new haircut has magic powers or something ;)

I finally [like, finally finally] have a set date (well, date as in dd/mm anyway) with the guy I had been chatting with for months until back in february. We'll go to a gay party night at a nice looking local club on friday next week. This is all I've been waiting, striving and intermittently working for for (pathetically) over half a year now. I won't doom myself by holding any expectations and I know that the mere thing itself is more than I've had for that long amount of time so I'm really happy about this.

First step ever in the right direction of social life and especially gay socialising. Well, judging from past experience, a thousand things will try to come up in the next days to prevent it from happening, but I'm confident that this time's for real.

And now I feel pretty selfish for only remembering to come and post in here whenever I have something new to say about myself and what's going on in my own life, but if it really happens I'll definitely post about my awesome/terrible night the day after, so that might turn out to be worthwhile (or who knows actually?).

T minus less than 8 days... - Time to prepare!

Some guy just wrote a 1600 word defense of Another Gay Movie and I do feel it is my duty to share it with you. I will however first post my thorough rebuttal of the article:

It fucking sucks. End of.

Now some (selectively selected) tidbits from the article:

There is a teen comedy which is probably seen in a very poor light. It’s gross, kind of disgusting actually. Its production quality is low, like, really low. Jokes about bodily functions and bodily fluids are plentiful. There’s squelching noises. Actually, the jokes aren’t really all that funny. It’s gross out humor of the lowest quality.
...
And it was crass

I know there is a want and a need for certain films sometimes (I still need the Lucifer Box TV series to be made) or for films to speak in a certain way. But fucking hell, that film is not the one on which you should base that argument.

Trying to argue about representation in media is like running on an endless treadmill.

Getting a bit burnt out on these kinds of arguments honestly :p

The "gay characters should always be subtle like this" stuff screams of "But Not Too Gay" much more than it seems to indicate any legitimate concern about how gay people are represented.
As I replied to Hours Left, I'm just happy it wasn't handled in a cringe-worthy, unfortunate way. Subtle is good compared to many possible outcomes, lol.

We balance on the fine line between it being too subtle to be effective representation, or too blatant which would upset the fanboys. (see: an actual visible relationship)

The Walking Dead had a fine point, where Tara (lesbian) barely had any gay moments on the show and the fans didn't complain, but an on-screen kiss between Aaron and Eric sent twitter into meltdown.

Sure, subtle's better than stereotypical. Still, there's this push that this is the only way to portray gay characters because anything more is "in your face" and "shoving it down your throat". I don't consider that a legitimate concern.

Omg that banned post in the mortal kombat thread, I can't even.

It's not even that funny because I know a lot of people actually think like that.

He looks so good on my monitor. :3

I was on mobile when I saw this.

I would totally marry him.
You and me both. I'd have Pizza at our wedding.

Just to clarify that when I say "sexless" i mean they do not show affection the way heterosexuals often are in TV/film. Cam and Mitchell seem more like roommates than husbands. If all we get for LGBT inclusion in a Mortal Kombat game is a developer tweet then we're not making any progress.

I mean, that tweet came to be because of in-game events. It's not like they were asked if Kung Jin is gay just because :p

I don't care if anyone thinks that having a gay character in Mortal Kombat is progress or not progress. I thought it was pretty cool!! I was like "yaasss!!"

I was thinking "is he? huh... omg he is!!! :3" that's what was going through my mind. I'm weird like that :p

It was also as if Raiden was speaking to me when he said what he said about the Shaolin academy. lol...

So I don't know, it just had an effect on me, a positive one. I was surprised, I did not expect this from a Mortal Kombat game. Anyways, It was a small short cutscene but I thought it was pretty awesome.

How I feel. :)

That's the point I was trying to make earlier but others shot me down. It's another case of "we can't actually come out and say it in game/movie/tv/whatever or the homophobes might get mad".
