This is glorious

Also, since the tumblr blog I linked to has a Carmilla profile pic. Does anyone watch it?

It's a youtube series about lesbians and spooky goings on at a university when people start disappearing, Tumblr seems to love it. I quite enjoyed it myself, the videos being only a few minutes long really helps.

Haven't started watching season 2 yet though.
I've had the series playlist in a chrome tab for months now just never got around to playing it

Well, after being thoroughly depressed by Nintendo's conference and the new "Metroid", I decided to stop playing FFXIV and start Ori and the Blind Forest. Wish me to be mesmerized.

You should! it's very more-ish. The short episodes just keep you wanting more.

Thanks!

Glittering is what I call going over 30yrs old. Before I was in my 30s I imagined that all gays just disintegrated into glitter at that time, OR disappeared and eventually became an elder-gay like Sir Ian McKellen
OHHH.
Wait, so we don't go to a training camp to become Elder Gays once we hit 30? I've been lied to!

Catching up with Carmilla has made me realize that I haven't watched the newest season of The Most Popular Girls in School yet.

Welcome! You're a concept/visual effects artist, amazing. What company do you work for? You're not too old. No one here is. My soul has lived for eons, so even what many considered old isn't old to me.

Yasss! Demon's Souls and Dragon's Dogma are amazing games. You have a great taste in gaming :)

You really do levitation as a hobby? o: nice.

That gif is kinda scary though.

You're a concept artist too right? Welcome! Who do you work for?

Oh and nice, Alex Mytton. Blessed be his peen (y)

Wait a minute, Arcipello?? Is this the same one from eatpoo days? This is Nivbed!

Ooooh, interesting! Is eatpoo still kicking?

Welcome! You're a concept/visual effects artist, amazing. What company do you work for?
I've been at Turtle Rock Studios for 3 years now. Previously I worked at Obsidian for almost 10. O_O

Thank you! 3rd person ARPGs are da best. Especially with character creation. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

It's my jam, haha

Also my jam. ʘ‿ʘ

Nah, I think it has been dead for many years. After eatpoo there was c9, and after c9 there was Apedogs, but apedogs sort of ended in 2009 I think.

Wow!! Amazing.

Did you work on Fallout New Vegas and Evolve recently with Turtle Rock?

What projects did you work on while at Obsidian and Turtle rock?

Any new projects you're working on?

Also, are you single? Just curious. :p

I just love 3rd person ARPG's. What do you think of the Dark Souls series, have you played them?

Oh I see. Welcome to neogaf!! :)

Edit: Your artwork is amazing.

Hey there unity of the void!

Were you part of the team that made Evolve then? I really like the designs of those beasties.

Glad to have more people from the gaming industry here. ^^

Wow!! Amazing.

I did not work FNV, at the time I was working as Art Director on Dungeon Siege 3. :) Yes I did work on Evolve - I did the monster VFX as well as some concept work. I posted some of the concepts I did for Evolve here:
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/evolve-concept-art-collection

lol, y'all know I can't talk about anything related to work!
Also, are you single? Just curious. :p
I've been happily married for 8 years now. :)

I've played through DS1 (it was great!), but didn't finish DS2. I have played through Bloodborne many times - I'm just trying to get one last trophy that's related to a certain chalice dungeon boss. I think the souls gameplay is fantastic, and I love the tone and setting for the games. The only reason I didn't list them as a favorite game(s) is that Demon's was the first that I played and it really captivated me in a way that wasn't replicated with Dark Souls 1 or 2. The Tower of Latria I will probably remember for the rest of my life, that's how amazing I thought it was. From the small info I've seen of DS3 though I'm looking forward to it - "withered beauty" is right up my alley.
Oh I see. Welcome to neogaf!! :)
Thanks! I've been looking for another forum to become active in, as there is a certain charm in that kind of internet comradery. I've lurked on gaf for a long time, but never really thought of creating an account until Bloodborne came out and I wanted to talk about it all day long.

Your work is absolutely amazing. Congrats on your marriage and your amazing job!

Yes you can talk about stuff related to your work. :p For example, from a scale of 1-10 how comfortable is your desktop chair where you work? Would you rather be at home in your sofa or sitting on your chair because it's an amazingly comfortable chair?

See, if you answer that question, you are technically talking about something slightly related to work. :p

Welcome! I'm kind of...well, not kind of...majorly geeking out about your art. Like HH said, it's fantastic!!! You make me wish I had more art skills/talent and make me want to practice. Congrats on the game launch this year!

Also, yay for the marriage! Congratulations! (eight years late, lol) Is your partner/husband/term-you-prefer also into video games?

Who here has experience with long distance relationships?

I do! Been in one for almost two years. What about them? Definitely seconding what Dany said, they are harder.

Although thankfully the distance will be erased this August when she moves here :] Which I am still just super giddy about.

the one and the same! long time no see, well actually not that long since i was commenting on your work over at artstation :p

and yeah the eatpoo forums helped create a lot of great artists, actually Justin one of your images helped kickstart an idea that led me to creating one of my artworks!

loved the backlighting you did for this one https://www.artstation.com/artwork/the-lost-watchtower

and so i was inspired to create backlight and silhouettes in my own image https://www.artstation.com/artwork/her-silent-silhouette

Thank you! Talent with art really comes from dedication of time. I've met some really great artists who didn't always start out as such, but they made the decision and dedication to it and it paid off.

Haha, my husband could not care less about games. He gets why I love them, but I think he gets more enjoyment out of watching me play them as opposed to playing them himself. Though, he keeps mentioning that he might want to start, so maybe I can find a gateway game, lol

Too late to have worked on Left 4 Dead... did you work on Alpha Protocol? That's one of my favorite games.

Your art is great, by the way .

I did not work on Alpha Protocol in any significant way. I only consulted one of the VFX artists on it for a short time. Thanks!

Oh awesome! My bad about the artstation comment, I didn't even look at your profile there so I didn't connect your name to your work. That is on me, I apologize.
I remember that piece, it is great - I'm glad that something I did was inspiring to you. Eatpoo seems like a lifetime ago, ahah. Looking at your work I started remembering a lot posts from back then too.

As an unapologetic Obsidian fanboy; it is very nice to have you here. Oh, and I really liked the art direction on Dungeon Siege III (especially everything on the final boss level/map).

Thanks! Dungeon Siege III holds a soft spot in my heart - I know it is filled with a lot of problems, but for our team (and company even) it was the little game that could.

lol no problem, ive started using my real name everywhere now when it comes to my art. and yeah Eatpoo never quite recovered from that server crash or whatever took it down, ive actually never found an art forum like it since. my god you are right, i was 17 when i joined that forum....holy fuck! glad i've barely aged a day though *throws feather boa over shoulder and struts off*

The biggest thing for me is physical presence and contact, going months and months with it really separates a couple.

Yep! This is the truest. I am very very lucky to be fortunate enough to have been able to arrange trips back and forth with my girl over the course of two years. If it weren't for that, we definitely wouldn't have survived. And I'm glad that we're moving in together so soon as well, because I don't know if we would have really made it through another year of being apart.

Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem looks absolutely gorgeous.

RPG gameplay, fantastic character designs, lots of japanese cultural influences, gorgeous anime artstyle, extremely colourful and fun (with hints of more mature stuff to come).

Even the level up screens and battle loading screens are gorgeous:

This game is an absolute day 1 for me. so glad I have a Wii U.
I can see why some people would be put off by how "anime" it is, but I absolutely love it.

Can't freaking wait for this. The vocoloid idol stuff kinda turned me off at first but I think I can just tolerate it and dive in for the fun ride cause the game overall looks like a blast.

And yea it looks so stylish. Like Persona5 at a rave on crack. Full of delicious anime styles.

Yeah game looks pretty nice, I understand the backlash because it looks nothing like a SMT or FE game tonally at first glance (unless it gets super dark and dreary all of a sudden which it might) but I'm still super excited for it.

I've never played either of the franchises and have nothing to compare them to. though I know Fire Emblem is more fantasy swords and sorcery stuff and Shin Megami Tensei is rather modern and.. dark? I think?

So all I see when I look at this is a fantastic looking game in an artstyle I adore, in a great interesting setting with an awesome looking RPG combat system.

As someone who loves Japanese culture, what they said in the treehouse about the dungeons being based on real life places in Tokyo is just so cool, it's the same reason why I loved The World Ends With You.

Also it has a mature rating, which none of the footage so far really suggests, I bet there will be some dark themes in there at some point. and I love nothing more than happy looking settings with dark twists (Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica being a prime example)

Mmmmm, I agree. I love the colors. Also, I've been ever-so-slightly paying more attention to Tuoma Akagi than to the other characters thanks to that open shirt/abs shot in the first trailer.

In the first trailer, there's a brief shot of a flooded/destroyed city, so I think that there might be some dark undertones or twists that they haven't talked about yet.
