I'm not sure I can answer this question. I don't filter my friends, I don't look for anything in straight people. It just turned out that my friends happen to be straight males. I think he's referrig to how you worded it. You made it sound like you've met gay people but are now of the general opinion that you don't get along with gay people as well as straight people, rather than simply not having many chances to get to know gay people.
