There's a possibility I might get to move into a house this year, and finally get out of my apartment. I can't freaking wait!

I'm waiting til I move to get a new pet too. I'm still mourning the loss of my pet cat of 20 years, so I'm not quite ready yet, but I really do miss having an animal companion. (My roommate has a cat, and she's great, but not very cuddly. She likes her space.)

I actually had one growing up; my parents bought him for me for my 5th birthday. Named him Rocky after the movies lol. He was a god damned adventurer/escape artist. I always had to keep a good eye on him. He actually passed away about a week after I left for college. That was a difficult first couple months.

I really want a English bulldog, but they are so expensive. Italian greyhound is another one I'd love to have, but Colorado isn't the ideal place for them.

I'm not happy with an apartment now. I hate it actually. The apartment itself is fine, but it's so damn expensive, and I get no return on it. Plus, I hate living in a building with a bunch of other people I don't know, the smells, the mess, the false fire alarms, etc.

I'm so over it.

Heh, I live around a bunch of old ladies currently. It's pretty nice, quiet in the evenings. They ask me to do little things for them here and there since I'm the only one under 110 on the block. They usually reward me with some really good food. There's this really sweet Greek lady who has turned me on to some amazing stuff. The last time I was over there she gave me this slow-cooked lamb and orzo dish called giouvetsi or something like that, so good.

Niiiiice. I remember enjoying watching his cheesy movies on HBO when I was a kid. I'd watch them, if only because I was hoping to see some of his skin. :p

My first vague crush was Bo Duke, from the Dukes of Hazzard. I'd love episodes where he'd end-up shirtless for whatever flimsy reasons. I say "vague" because I was about six years old at the time, and all I knew was that I wanted to hug him.

That sounds amazing. I love my neighbourhood, but just want to get out of the apartments. (I live in a mostly residential area, though there are a lot more shops now.)

Just having your own space is a dream. It's been almost 10 years since I've lived in a house, and I really, really miss it.

Okay, I'm willing to show my ignorance here: is the taste really affected that quickly? I thought it was more of an over-time thing, in which you regularly eat a lot of fruit.

Good to hear that you liked it. I hadn't heard it referred to as orzo until now (risoni or kritharaki seem much more common near me, similarly I usually see the dish itself transliterated as youvetsi) , but it's one of my favourite types of pasta to use. I really have to make some soon...

I would think it would take at least half a day to notice, and a couple of days more likely.

I don't really like most applications of cooked pineapple, but just grilling it with cinnamon usually produces reasonable results.
