VC sounds nice even though part of that is the
funny border. I'd love to visit Canada, but I don't know quite what I'd see other than how different Québec is.
Yup, Norway. The northernmost 'large' (70k...) city here. It's a small island next to two larger pieces of land and a university was somehow built here. It's kinda cold (oceanic winds keep it above -10C most of the time) without hot summers (28C is the record), but lately summers have been much warmer. For whatever reason Murmansk (Russia) has 300k making it the largest city above the arctic circle :/
