BREAKING: Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington dies at 41, Los Angeles County coroner says.

These tweets are probably made by a separate team that has no direct relation to any of the band members.

I'd love for it to not be true, but...

Whoever runs that shit probably runs about 10 bands twitter accounts, and doesn't get sensitive info like this.

If it was fake they would have came out and said it by now to stop it from spreading so fast. Everyone else is picking it up as a source as well.

That was 3 hours ago. TMZ is reporting they found him dead round 9am.

The news is less than an hour old. It's entirely possible that TMZ found out around the same time the rest of the band did.

Unfortunately, I know that TMZ's report is correct. I'm just looking for any reason for this to not be true. Too much to handle :(

So many singing/movie artists end up killing themselves(whether it's intentional or not)... this is depressing to know that many of our idols could just end up dead one day by surprise.

The entertainment business is really that much of a fucking stressful/depressing place huh?

FUCK....junior high sucked and Chester gave a fucked up situation a dope ass soundtrack.....just FUCK

Damn was a fan back in the day, they and especially he was great live. Also loved the album he did fronting for Stone Temple Pilots. Was looking forward to seeing them in a few months with Blink 182 at Blinkin Park at Citifield.

Thoughts to his family.

Used to bump Linkin Park albums so loud in my car after I got a sound system put in. Sad to hear about the abuse he suffered and the self-medication he conducted to ease his internal pain. Rest in peace and condolences to his family.

I'm honestly so sad right now...Linkin Park was one of my favorite bands as a teen if I'm honest they still are. I can't imagine how his family and band mates must be feeling right now.

Rip. Shit. Hybrid Theory and Meteora was my jam back in my early teens. The genre holds little appeal to me now, but fuck if they weren't Two of the greats.

I drifted away from Linkin Park as I got older, but they were the band I followed as a teenager. Also, the first band I saw live. I remember at the start, Chester came running out onto the stage waving the Welsh flag, which was just amazing to see.

I can't believe this.

I'm holding on
Why is everything so heavy?
Holding on
So much more than I can carry
I keep dragging around what's bringing me down
If I just let go, I'd be set free

Holding on
Why is everything so heavy?
Listening to "Heavy" is unbearable right now. Jesus Christ man, I don't know how to handle this. I'm completely beside myself.

Yeah, this is a real shocker for me. Though I didn't know it at the time, his voice is one of the earliest singers I can remember hearing. I never got into them like a lot of people, but he and the band were still iconic. Another tough loss for the year.

It's no doubt that Cornell affected him greatly. Wish he got the help that he needed after that experiencing the pain from that tragedy first hand. I was just thinking about buying tickets to their show for this year...goddammit this is so crazy

RIP

Linkin Park was the first band I ever liked. I met one of my best friends in fourth grade because we both liked Meteora

Wow, thats horrible :(

I fell off their music after Meteora, but absolutely loved(and still do love) their first 2 albums(+ reanimation).

Hybrid Theory and Meteora were huge.

Gonna have to fire up Hybrid Theory now

RIP Chester.

I can't believe it , the lyrics in his songs were more real than i imagined.

I know people like to bemoan the likes of "edgelord" lyrics day in and out, but it's been my experience that that kind of lyrical content doesn't come from nothing. With what's been known about the abuse he faced in his childhood, there's a source to that darkness that I genuinely feel that Bennington tried to confront in his music, but that always runs the risk of going right back into that dark place and risk it consuming you. There's really no easy way to deal with that, and it's unfortunate that he saw no other solution than taking his own life once it became too much.

I'm absolutely devastated by this. Linkin Park was such an important band to me in middle and high school, and even though I've "grown" out of them, my heart is a bit broken by this.

However, it wasn't until I heard this song that I knew that would always leave an impression:

Waiting for the End is a fucking masterpiece of a song and single handedly, to me, discredits anyone talking about how shitty his vocals are, or how angsty and immature they could be. This song is wrecking me a bit right now, as it has done in my toughest times before.

RIP
