List of PS5 Pro enhanced games

To avoid additional backlash from core Xbox consumers who will now feel like the PS5 Pro is a better console for them to own than the XSX if they aren't on GamePass.
I think the days of trying to placate core Xbox consumers are long gone. They are ripping the bandaid off. There is no point in half measures anymore. Might as well go all in on being a 3rd party publisher. From Microsoft's standpoint, this is the right move. Optics be damned. They got a sinking ship to save.

We're nearing that to be sure, but we're not there yet.

What's the next upcoming PS5 Pro enhanced game in the horizon? I don't care about MH Wilds and need something to play.

Edit: Looks like Carmen Sandiego (lol) then AC Shadows.

Sony exclusives is Death Stranding 2. And from third party, games from MS, Forza Horizon, Doom Dark Ages, and Indiana Jones.

When PSSR is done right, the extra sharpness is amazing. TLOU2 is so sharp and so well implemented. Looks stunning. Sharp and crisp.

Yeah. No return mode is sublime. My wife can't even tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps (and she has put in 200+ hours on this game) was like "damn that looks so crisp on the pro now".

TLOU1 and 2 Pro modes are sharp, but the image is ruined by the sharp one pixel wide red/blue chromatic aberration. I can't believe something like this got OK from art lead and QA.

When was this? I know they said it initially but then they removed it like 2 weeks ago and haven't addressed it this week so far
Maybe I’m misremembering, but could have sworn they said it when “revealed.”

It’s still on the direct site, and didn’t Sony mandate it, especially for first party studios?

I think this will be a nothing burger in the end and just store widget errors.

I have seen some of my games get better smoother looking lines as well as better color. The PS4 game enhancement is cool as well now. Anti aliasing looks to be added to a lot of games or maybe it's just some simple shading effects over lines and stuff. Also color detail is higher. Blue, green, red, yellow, all a lot more better and higher. Detail is overall a lot better. But it's not in all games, just some PS4 games of course. And of course if you don't want the brighter colors and the odd smoothing scaling you can always turn off that PS4 game thing off in video settings.

Monster Hunter Wilds on the Pro balanced mode is amazing when locked at 40fps. They fixed the beta visuals
How so? To my eyes the 40 fps balanced mode looks bad as does the rest of the game. I played the beta in the default 30 fps mode and i see no improvement to visuals in either balanced or resolution mode. I still have yet to try out Performance mode because I don't want to have to play a game at 1080p on my ps5 Pro. But balanced has a lower resolution than Resolution mode, the same low res textures everywhere, and the same washed out look from the poor fog and HDR implementation.

The Pro would REALLY benefit from the HD TEXTURE PACK that PC got. That's the only thing that could save this game on Pro at least for me. Is there a good reason the Pro isn't capable of running the HD texture pack in its 30 fps Res mode at least? I would think that mode has the most overhead....or does the Pro not have enough memory bandwith?

I thought this game would be alright on Pro since Beta didn't have the Pro patch but at least in Balanced and Res i see no discernable improvement. Soft as hell across the board with the worst textures I've seen all gen for a non cross gen AAA game.

PS5 : Resolution mode 1656p/30fps, Balanced mode 1224p/40fps *FSR1
PS5 Pro: Resolution mode 1944p/30fps(RT), Balanced mode 1404p/40fps(RT) *PSSR
I don't think the PS5 and PS5 Pro versions use low-resolution textures by default.
(Because there is enough VRAM available)

Can you tell the difference in textures between PC high res and Pro resolution mode? Where is M MazingerDUDE ‘s zoomed in GIFs when we need him the most?

I’ve not checked the difference out but these high res texture packs are always just a scam. Same textures but uncompressed which makes usually 0 difference. I don’t download high res pack for ff xv too.

Anyone else having problems with Call Of Duty BO6 with FPS drop for a few seconds during games? I already reinstalled the game and it didn't solve, i think its since the update.
I’m having major fps drops/ stutters that come and go throughout the game. I’m on PS5 Pro 120hz mode enabled
If you mean a complete freeze for 1-2 seconds then yeah that's been an issue since the start. I think turning off the on demand texture streaming should help.

It does make a difference in Diablo 4, though. Well, it did, since I can't use it anymore because my 3080 only has 10GB and they blocked it. PS5 uses the high res pack I believe because it looks better to me.
I can't remember if I tried FF XV without the high res pack... it's been a while. Is it compatible with DLSS 4? Might re install just for kicks

sadly ff xv is dlss1 and it's awful.
The high res pack for xv is controversial. Using "ASSETS" setting changes how some of the grass looks and stuff which i don't like,
So I dont use assets and I don't use nvidia turf grass because it also looks weird.

About MHW. As Pssr ML matures in Ps5 pro, I hope Capcom in the near future wiill send a ps5 pro update adding a 60 fps with RT reflections mode. Same goes to other past ps5 games. Can Ps5 pro achieve the holy grain in console gaming of having the three important features, RT/4k/60fps, at the same time even in open world game? I think, theoretically, its possible with ps5 pro, especially from Sony 1st and 2nd party developers with there Sony exclusive games. Hopefully we can finally see it on DS2, Saros, Wolverine, Goy, and from Sony Hero projects from Asia and Middle East.

Really? I throught part II was the highlight. Will check out part I shortly too.
Part I has better directional lighting and textures, particularly environmental. The best place(s) to spot this is in the beginning when you're searching/walking around with Tess.

Part II gets close, but it's obvious (at least to me) that it's a touch behind (which makes sense given Part I was built specifically for PS5). Graphically, Part I is better. However, Part II really nails that drab, overcast atmosphere, at times feeling almost lifelike...

I'm curious to see if there is an actual difference for MH or if this simply helps brute force through streaming/decompression bottlenecks in the engine. The thing is massive in size! If you do get to check it, please share your findings.

MH looks like crap can you blame me?

There are a few games on Pro that I like- Lords of the Fallen, Callisto Protocol, LoU1+2, Ratchet, Spiderman, FF7 Rebirth, Kingdom Come 2 is fantastic, Lies of P, Forbidden West, re4, jedi survivor (at 30 fps), Stellar blade, black ops 6 after patches is decent, path of exile 2 is solid. Astrobot looks better now.

If you invested as much as me into the Pro and it's games you might actually understand where I'm coming from. I own all these games and they all were bummers in some way-

sw outlaws, aw2, Dying Light 2 (how did this get a reputation as a great patch?), dd2, sh2, Avatar, darktide, Diablo 4, space Marine 2, Black myth wukong, GT7, dead island 2, gow ragnarok. Mh wilds, ac Mirage, crew motorsport, arhammer Rogue Trader, baulders Gate 3, until dawn remake-its not smooth at 60 fps, hitman 3 (they have the tag but what improvement?), the Hunt showdown

The Sony games that they lazily won't patch-returnal, ds1, gow 2018, ghost if tsushima, uc4 remaster for people who don't have VRR, days gone (BTW no Pro tag for Remaster)

Then the many 3rd party games I would've hoped would be patched that havn't been like Cyberpunk, rdr2, gta 5 remaster, Control, Plague Tale, ff16 Some day I'll make a full list of all those ....this is why I look forward to buying a PC eventually ...to do what Sony and 3rd parties wont and simply get some better settings for the better hardware we all bought ...don't think that's too much to ask.

Some screenshots I've taken from SW Outlaws in balanced mode with PSSR enabled. The only issue I have with the Pro version is the rather low res RT reflections, other than that it looks and plays great in the 40 fps balanced mode (I'm 10h in).

It’s a great looking game in many areas. It has fantastic lighting and shadows and some really good texture work (though in other areas the textures are a bit lacking). The lighting is stunning and shows why RTGI is such a good graphical evolution.

Im sure there will be a new ps5 pro patch coming soon for ps5 pro knowing that its popular and they dont want to alienate the fans. For me, if they can at least make the balance mode with the RT on capped 50 fps instead of 40 fps, that would be impressive.

Capcom, I bought a PlayStation to run away from the mesh transparencies of the Saturn. I can forgive that in KZ3 since it was quite a feat for its time. But why are we using them two generations later? If the machine doesn’t have the power just scale back anything else but this is so 1995…

I left a comment yesterday in the what game are you currently playing:

I started SW Outlaws over the weekend, and I'm about 7 hours in. It's honestly more fun than I expected, with some of the linear missions and exploration reminding me a lot of Uncharted. The combat is serviceable, and it does its job. As for the story, it's good enough to keep me interested.

I'll add that there are also space missions (I've done 3 of them so far: 2 contracts and 1 main mission, and I enjoyed them). There's a mini-game that I thought was pretty cool (Sabacc). Oh, and there's a lot of stealth gameplay and base infiltration.

The gameplay loop is quite different from Jedi Fallen Order (I didn't play Jedi Survivor too much), and the only thing that comes to mind is the platforming, which you'll do quite a lot in both games. However, in Outlaws the platforming is more like in Uncharted 4 (you even have a grapple hook), but not as fluid or smooth. You also keep unlocking tools like in Fallen Order, which opens up specific points of interest on the open world map(s) to explore for rewards and upgrades.

Someone without a VRR display have no business buying a PS5 Pro, buy a decent TV first.
LG oled c8 120 hz but no vrr

Yeah what a piece of shit TV i have ya clown. And surely there are plenty of people who bought a Pro that also don't have VRR TVs ...your "point" doesn't address Sony's laziness at all.

Not to mention having a VRR TV doesn't solve issues all the issues with the Pro, only certain games with variable framerates. Does a VRR TV solve the broken ambient occlusion with PSSR in games like DD2 or Silent Hill ? The flickering shadows seen in certain games Pro version like Last of Us 2's Santa Barbara level? The RT noise we see with PSSR? The lack of patches from other Sony titles? The lack of significant graphical improvement to many games? The lack of patches for many games?

No, didn't think so.

Wouldn’t say “has no business”, but to truly appreciate the additional performance, yeah, a VRR/120Hz display is ideal. I went from a regular ol’ 2018 60Hz IPS monitor to a 2024 FALD 160Hz monitor for just that very reason. I still saw differences on the older one, but that added VRR capability coupled with ALLM and FALD made it night and day!

Sounds like bs to me. PSSR is not currently something that can be updated at a system level. Even if it made so in the future (unlikely), an existing game will have to be patched to support it
Yeah that part I was skeptical about. We've been hearing about new pssr versions and so far we haven't had any specific ps5 pro system updates specifically for that or Sony hasn't made it obvious.

I would have thought if there was an update for pssr it would be for the sdk.
