Earlier on in the thread we have already concluded that you're not sensitive to the ugliness of 30fps. We understand why you're "ok" with it. Most people aren't. Modern TV's don't handle 30fps like older TV's did. Back then they smeared the frames together. Today they throw in motion blur to hide the awfulness of it.

30fps is not a consumer friendly framerate.
You concluded. Not me.
Just because I don’t agree does not mean i am not sensible to it. That’s bs.
We had whole gens of 30fps and it was perfectly fine and tvs are only better now. That’s no excuse.
You shouldn’t speak for everyone because everyone played at 30fps just fine for whole generations. And no. Oled does not make it so much worse. Not with motion blur

You are so not getting it. The TV's back then were much better for displaying 30fps than modern TV's due to sample and hold techniques.

That's just science mate.

It's exactly because TVs have improved that 30 fps got "bad". I still have a PS5 hooked to the LCD TV I played 99% of the PS4 gen and when I switch FF XVI to 30 fps it feels fine. But the moment I do it on the 5 Pro on the OLED... it just bothers me. Motion blur or not. I am not saying it's impossible to still tolerate it, but it's just how the panels work. I kid you not, I thought my TV was broken when I switched Horizon to 30 the first time, and went on the internet to understand it was not, and learned why it was like that.
Btw FF XVI is a much more consistent experience on the Pro in perf mode now. On base PS5 the IQ sometimes got so funky that chars could look like cardboards on the scenario, but that is very much lessened now and framerate is consistent where it matters. I still believe it deserves a Pro patch, but I understand Square will only touch it again when it's time for a remaster.

They were just sample and hold and had more blurring. I do get it, I am not an idiot.
Oled is still better. Just makes the judder more visible because it's better.
But it's still fine. In the meanttime we all got used to 374736473fps. That's the main reason. The jump back to 30fps is always painful. always jarring. More so on oled as you say. But it's still something your brain will get used to in a day or two. You don't have to do that because nothing is 30fps annymore
If I had that oled i have today, back in xbox 360 days, I would've pissed my pantsplaying the same old 360 30fps games. I know because I replayed some on it. It's great.

More judder isn't better.

Does anyone know if age of mythology retold on Xbox uses dynamic resolution or 60fps? Hopefully the ps5 version does so the Pro can take advantage.

Anyone else having problems with Call Of Duty BO6 with FPS drop for a few seconds during games? I already reinstalled the game and it didn't solve, i think its since the update.
I’m having major fps drops/ stutters that come and go throughout the game. I’m on PS5 Pro 120hz mode enabled

That's actually quite a big deal...
Is it though? There's this "playstation will play this Xbox game better" thing going on, but PCs were already playing the game better. It just doesn't seem like such a big deal, at least not compared to the shock of actually releasing their games on PS. I personally thought it was common sense that they'd fully support the new platform they're trying to sell their games on, I didn't get those worried they wouldn't support the pro.

I started age of mythology and it has a performance and fidelity mode. Not sure if the pro runs the performance any better.

I think this effect is amplified by it being Forza of all things.

Your premise that PCs are equivalent to consoles is why you don't see the bigger picture here.

There's two factors the marketing reality and the performance reality.

It looks like they're supporting PS5 Pro and that has a marketing element to it, but the advantages seem pretty limited. There should be an uncapped mode, but that hasn't been communicated at all and it appears not to be the case.

It suggests that when Halo and Gears come to PS5, that PS5 Pro will be the best place to play them on console. Anyone who doesn't see why that would be a big deal is deluding themselves.
best plays to play halo gears and forza will still be pc,

Also these games are old as fuck..

Reading is hard?

Imagine trying to be as intentful with your words as possible only for people who already know how they want to respond to respond without reading or comprehending...

As for these games being "old" they're still pillars of the Xbox brand, which actually says more about the brand than anything, but that's neither here nor there.

Also, PC gamers are not console gamers.

They’re treating the PS5 as just another platform, not a competitor in this context.
Hmm not sure about that. Grounded could really use Pro enhancement and Sea of Thieves got a really low effort patch. I personally see MS as doing the bare minimum when it comes to the Pro. Basically trying to get sales from Pro owners without upstaging their platform too much. At least that's my impression so far.

Those games came out months before the Pro. Most developers didn’t even go back to do a Pro patch at all.

So you think we'll see Flight Simulator on PS5 and on PSVR2?
Is it confirmed for PS5? I don’t think so. I do think every Microsoft title will have a Pro version though. If the rumors of Gears and Halo are true, I expect Pro support for them.

So if/when it's announced for PS5, do you think PSVR2 support will be included?

Things always become "obvious" after the fact...

It was not obvious that Microsoft was going to support PS5 Pro with their own tentpole titles. It's a big deal and a major concession, possibly one with a long term plan to absolve criticism by regulators in the future or simply one with long-term ramifications.

I think it was always obvious. They’re already releasing the game for the PS5. Every major publisher’s AAA games have Pro enhancements now. If they wanted to avoid criticism, they simply wouldn’t have released it for the PS5 at all.

What good reason would Microsoft have not to do it?

To avoid additional backlash from core Xbox consumers who will now feel like the PS5 Pro is a better console for them to own than the XSX if they aren't on GamePass.
