You notice anything Oliver talk about in the DF review video regarding to RT issue? It seems to distract him alot since he keep mention it since the hand on previews.

Also, did you try the graphics mode with or without RT on? How the frame rate outside in these modes?
Saw a video of DD2. Only saw that thing once. I think it’s on Eurogamer Portugal. It’s very noticeable on the example that Oliver gave but it’s not game wide.

You are seeing things that aren't there.

Sure.
Improvement apparent through the video, and especially in those 1:1 instances.
Is it perfect on Pro? No, but a simple glance at the purple lines should make it obvious it's absolutely not "clearly the same".

And yet here we are, arguing about those instances Pro too has issues because apparently even the thought this machine could improve a little bit a 30fps 1080p PS4 game from 2015 is too much to handle for some..

So I've checked out THE FINALS and Palworld on the Pro, both of which are supposedly "Pro Enhanced" but they look exactly the same with no additional settings in the options menus. Where the hell can we find information on what the so called "enhancements" are? Seems kinda half arsed to be honest.

Probably they are not patched yet? They might come out today

Ok. Thank for letting me know. I watched lots of clip and barely pay attention to it.

Also, Dragon Age looks alot sharper on the pro but Oliver also found dithering issue in grass and water? I noticed on water but all console version have this. I guess he expect better?

800p should be the lower bound on the pro performance mode, otherwise I don't see merely a 100p difference from the base ps5 get a significant sharper image on the pro.

Edit: yup, just watched a video and noticed this. Dithering on both water and grass is bad especially grass. Other wise, the image sharpness improvement is really good. Hopefully they can patch this and and turn off RTAO.

In question of Bloodborne I'm also don't see how hardware may fix broken software. Framepacing issues are there because of not properly implemented framerate lock, it doesn't matter how powerful hardware it's running on it still will be broken.

I dont find it distracting at all but I can see what he's talking about. After 5 minutes you don't even think about it anymore. The RTGI is such a fantastic addition to this game and it makes it extremely unique. There isn't another game out there that looks like DD2. It's just so natural and warm and encompassing, it's incredibly impressive despite the minor issues with it. Getting that lighting plus 55-60fps with PSSR is really a great demo for the PS5 Pro in my opinion.

Apparently its been "enhanced for PS5 Pro".

After 10 minutes I am not 100% sure I'm noticing an IQ difference although it's been some time since I've booted this game up. Looks the same as before but likely slightly sharper.

There is still a "prioritise graphics" option in the settings but this still caps the game to 30fps, even on Pro.

When in performance mode, the framerate is now uncapped, I seem to be getting between 60 and 75fps in the new expansion area.

Unsure if the uncapped framerate is part of this new PS5 Pro enhancement or of this has been in the game for sometime.

So far it looks like I remember it. Unless Blizzard specify how they've "enhanced" the game I think this is a bit weak.
Well that is fucking lame

Performance equivalent to which GPU>?
In DF's video it is slower than Rx 6800 in elden ring
It's basically an RX 6800 - but performance will never be the same, i'd expect in most cases the PS5 Pro to perform around the level somewhere between 4070/4070 Ti depending on the game and how much optimisation the developers put in, Elden Ring is an outlier as it's a FromSoft game and they are always horribly optimised

Nice unboxing, although I feel Sony should have provided him with a free Pro.
This dude played a major role in the campaign that led to Forbidden West IQ improvements, and there's a chance, as a consequence, to Guerrilla's new solution that impressed DF so much.

In question of Bloodborne I'm also don't see how hardware may fix broken software. Framepacing issues are there because of not properly implemented framerate lock, it doesn't matter how powerful hardware it's running on it still will be broken.
And yet, unless that source measures are incorrect, it would appear the game is noticeably improved in this regard. More than the already noticeable improvements provided by PS4 Pro, and then PS5. For "some bizarre reason", as said in the first post.

Dead Rising 2 is listed as Pro Enhanced. Did anybody else catch that?
Lol yeah i see it on the store page for Pro games but on its individual store page there's no Ps5 pro enhanced tag ...this game having a Pro patch doesn't make sense ...it would be the only PS4 game with a patch and of all games ...why Dead Rising 2? My guess is this was mistakenly put there. Perhaps Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster was meant to be on there instead ...that game doesn't have any PS5 Pro tag on its store page but couple weeks back people were apparently looking at screen shots of it with

That was to be expected. I expect almost every game to have pro support from now on at launch
Dude ...there will be plenty of games not Pro supported....there's this thing called "Japanese developers" have you seen how few shits they give about further optomization? I can see so many future jrpgs and fighting games already they won't get patches. Hell, got one already releasing after Pro, Dragon quest 3 remake, no Pro patch.

I'm thrilled about Kingdom Come 2 because KC1 never got a PS5 patch even though people were constantly asking for it. Didn't trust those guys to do it as they are seemingly PC focused and they're small. Thrilled though as this game will be a looker. Hopefully will be 60 fps ...i don't see any reason it shouldn't be except for some comments the devs made about not getting our hopes up for 60 but that was before the Pro was announced...we'll see

That's because it will launch with PS5 Pro support so no patch needed, right? 😉
Very much looking forward to this game regardless.
I hope you a right. Sony said that PSVR2 games will automatically get enhanced which I guess means an improvement in frame rate and general performance.

First quick impression on AW2 performance mode. Anyone who says this is not a good upgrade are either blind or dont remember how it looked on OG. I played it 2 weeks ago so i know exactly how it looked. Im playing on a 55" OLED TV and sitting like 2 meters away from the screen.

There is still some shimmering on objects yes, but turning off motion blur and film grain significantly clears that up. The image quality besides that is so much better. It looks crisp in both gameplay and cutscenes, you can see the increased fidelity everywhere because of this and the higher settings. Shadows are better, lighting looks better, ground detail and texture detail looks better. So far im really happy about how this looks and runs on a VRR screen and tbh im really impressed by PSSR because this shits internal ress is like 850p? Anyway death to FSR finally

Keep the impressions coming, YouTube is lacking for current gen.

Even on regular PS5, compression just destroys IQ and you can't have a real idea what it looks like...

Imagine on pro with PSSR. That's why I ask u lucky ones, talk ur impressions

only performance mode maintains 60fps , the other two modes run between 40 to 60fps
you cant help incompetent developers with the pro
why cant they even lock it at 30fps
They need to lock both modes to 30fps and offer a 120hz 40fps mode on both consoles. The performance mode though does look sharper than the base console which is good.

With patch, it looks clean af beacuse of PSSR but the fps still isnt perfect based on that video. Perf mode loks fine tho

Just watched the video Lui and...the quality and RT modes are still a fucking farce, like, they're friggin' horrible...

It's Team Ninja, I know, still, technically wise they're as incompetent - if not more incompetent - even compared to FROM software.

Man, wtf happened to this company, they used to release games with generation defining graphics back in the OG Xbox era, after that though...

Fuck

I was debating getting this today at Best Buy since it's in stock but then realized there's really nothing I want to play or re-play on PS5 right now. Guess I'm skipping this.

Hello,

This year has already been a very busy one for No Man’s Sky, with 6 updates already this year, including the huge Worlds Update. Our last update, The Cursed, dropped just a couple of weeks ago, and players have been loving the spooky Halloween vibe.

In game development some features take weeks or months, and others take years. Today we are releasing some features that have been years in the making.

PlayStation 5 Pro

PlayStation 5 Pro releases today and is an incredible feat of engineering. We were so excited to get our hands on it from early days of development. We couldn’t wait to see what was possible in No Man’s Sky with so much power at our disposal!

We’re excited to be able to share an enhanced version of No Man’s Sky for PlayStation 5 Pro with players at launch. Bringing even more detail and higher image quality than ever possible on console before.

PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) allows for incredible upscaling to provide crisp 4K resolution at 60fps. No Man’s Sky will also be an early supporter of 8k resolution, with the universe looking incredible in 8K at 30fps.

As well as a much sharper resolution at higher framerates, the increased power of the PlayStation 5 Pro has enabled us to ramp up the graphical quality across the board. Players on PlayStation 5 Pro will see improved lighting, with ultra quality reflections and higher quality ambient occlusion in all modes. Explore the most beautiful and detailed alien worlds No Man’s Sky has to offer, for the first time on console.

Not only this, but all of these improvements also come to PS VR2! With our most stunning virtual reality imagery offering an even more immersive experience for Travellers amongst the stars.

Cross-save

Starting from today we are rolling out cross-save support on all platforms. This has been a huge undertaking, and is one of most requested features.

No Man’s Sky now supports cross-play and cross-save between a huge number of platforms including last and current generation consoles (including PlayStation 5 Pro – see below), and PS VR & PS VR 2.

Adding the ability to transfer saves between platforms via a server is especially difficult for No Man’s Sky, as the work involved increases with each platform supported and how long folks have already been playing for. Both those numbers are large for our tiny team.

It’s very common for players to rack up thousands of hours of saves exploring across space, building elaborate bases and cataloging their discoveries, with incredibly detailed saves. Adding cross-save for us is a little bit like moving house, the longer people have lived there the more complicated it is to move them! We also have players who played once at launch, eight years ago, suddenly loading up that save on a platform that didn’t even exist back then!

The Normandy returns

Everyone here at Hello Games is a huge sci-fi nerd. One of our absolute favorite series is the incredible Mass Effect games. To join in Mass Effect’s annual N7 celebrations, we are pleased to welcome the legendary SSV Normandy SR1 back into No Man’s Sky!

It was back in 2021 that the Normandy made its first appearance in one of the first expeditions we ever ran. The limited-time expedition culminated in players being able to claim the Normandy for their fleet.

In the intervening years since that event, we have welcomed a huge number of Travellers. Many of these new players have envied those who proudly displayed their Normandy in their frigate collection.

Mass Effect fans know that this legendary freighter only appears when it is most needed! Today, and for the next two weeks, as a love-letter from one science fiction game to another, we are giving everyone another chance to encounter the Normandy in an overhauled version of the original mission and add it to their collection.

Huge thanks to our friends at Electronic Arts and Bioware for helping make this happen.

It has been a momentous year for No Man’s Sky in a number of ways. We’re so grateful to be able to continue this journey with you.

  • On PS5 Pro, Quality mode now runs at native 4K (2160p) 30fps.
  • On PS5 Pro, Performance mode will upscale from 1440p to 2160p 60fps, using PSSR
  • Split screen on the PS5 Pro will now offer either 30fps or 60fps depending on whether you're using Quality or Performance mode

How the consoles setting compare to this?

Anyone try BLOPS 6 on their Pro. I don’t understand how Sony mentioned support for launch but it doesn’t appear that it’s patched. I might ask for a refund and just play on GamePass.
