I can’t feckin wait to try NMS with PSVR2 later!

I genuinely feel like all of my favourite games are getting decent upgrades for the Pro, so I’m as happy as a pig in shit.

Performance mode runs more stable now outside of few traversal stutters:

Quality mode has the same FR.

That's f'ing pathetic ...the entire reason a Pro patch was necessary for this game was to be able to play Graphics mode at a higher framerate! The graphics mode looks so much better than the ugly 60 fps mode ....what an inept developer they are so disappointing

Yeah but performance mode has PSSR so it should look much better now?

PS5, ignore the image listed as ps5 pro. It is the ps5 version.

I am sorry DF didn't go over how significant the pro look sharper and better than the ps5 on performance mode. It is like going from 1080p to 1440p perceptually especially in motion due to how fuzzy and muddy FSR look when fighting. PSSR fair much better here in this scenario. Ps5 performance look even worst in the forest section.

I am not sure how this 800p on the pro? I don't think PSSR can make this look much sharper with just 100p over the base ps5. My guess it is the lower bound, we have to see for DF analysis here.

Just like DD2, Oliver seems to only focus on the flaw of the game image quality. To many people, it might not be an issue at all, but I can see what he talking about regarding water dithering. As for grass, we need to see more footages in the outdoor section. I still hope the dev fix it.

God of War Ragnarök patch went up a couple of days ago.

New PS5 Pro Enhanced Options

  • PS5 Pro Enhanced Mode: New mode added for PS5 Pro that enables Favor Quality features while running at 60 frames per second
  • High Frame Rate mode will unlock framerate when running on variable refresh rate monitors
  • PS5 base Favor Performance mode is boosted on PS5 Pro
  • PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution option available as an upscaler in addition to Temporal Anti-Aliasing

They give you the option of using PSSR or TAA

This is great for comparison.

Its the same resolution as AW2 in perf mode and im playing AW2 right now and it looks crisp af. Gonna play DA a bit later, but expecting the same awesome results. Mind you everything looks much better on a 4K tv than any screenshot or video you see from Pro games

But how ? Don't know about HD2 but Space marine 2 doesn't have a Pro patch, unless of course it's via brute-force-ing itself due to the better specs ?
Via Brute force is possible.
According to the DF video an unpatched game which was GPU limited can get like a 30% improvement, a CPU limited game around 10%
For a lot of games this can make the difference between shaky performance and reaching the VRR window or even stable 60fps

Oh. DF has not listed the bound yet for the pro version. I think they will go in depth analysis on the pro version.

This kinda different from AW2 situation though. In these Dragon Age footages, you can tell and see clearly the pro look significantly sharper and better. On AW2, the clarity on the video footage is pretty comparable, ofcourse the pro has better image stability and graphic.

Warharmmer is variable up to 1080p on speed. Hd2 is 1080p fixed. So warhammer makes sense to keep you out of the lower bounds. Hd2 needs a patch.

Played some BO6, see no difference.

Played some Mirage, I do not recall if Mirage had any GGX modes, but I did not see any GFX modes on the Pro and it seems to be running on 60fps and quite sharp resolution.

First descendant Quality mode is still in 30fps only. I guess performance mode uses PSSR for better image quality?

Gonna try Stellar Blade tonight. I just hope quality modes can now finally be played in 60fps.

The Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PlayStation 5 Pro enhancements include:

  • Visibly higher base resolutions in both Quality and Performance modes.
  • Quality mode retains a 4K resolution and ray-traced elements but is now upscaled from 1800p to 2160p
  • Performance mode now runs at a higher resolution of 1800p (upscaled from 1200p) and includes raytraced occlusion and reflections while continuing to deliver 60 fps.

Pretty solid here. 1200p with PSSR will look much better in this game.

Interesting they don't mentioned PSSR here.

Wait.. just noticed output resolution to 1800p on performance mode. Why not 4k? The internal res is pretty high here. My guess it is using PSSR here and they want to keep stable frame rate and go go for 1800p instead of 4k. Really weird.

Updates are keep on coming. That is why for ps5 pro owners, be patient. Updates are still coming and more updates coming soon and PSSR ML will continue to evolve and learn more how to adjust, upgrade, and optimize games. Updates, upgrades and PSSR ML continue to evolve and learn new process will become norms throughout the ps5 pro cycle.

I didn't have much time earlier so the very first thing I've downloaded on Pro while installing TLOU Part I disc + Patch is the Resident Evil 4 Remake Demo, which I know extremely well running like ass on PS5 with Resolution + RT + Hair Strands.

First impression? Runs like fucking butter, rock solid 60fps with Res + RT + Hair Strands + DoF + Lens Distortion and CA and Motion Blur, I threw everything at it, caused mayhem in the village, nothing, all felt as perfect as it gets.

Jack Nicholson Reaction GIF

This is one hell of a first impression personally, I knew the patched version runs well but I needed to test raw performance increase and given my most wanted upgrades from this machine were Capcom games at max quality and effects at 60fps, this alone justifies the purchase for me.
As soon as I'll test Part I for my first PSSR exposure, gonna run RE2R which is also very demanding on PS5 in Res + RT.

Baldur's gate 3 didn't mention PSSR either but later confirmed it so they probably are using it

The performance mode also adds back in the RT they removed from the base console so they probably topped it out at that resolution due to that. It first started from a 720p base when it was initially released so those are good gains.

  • On PS5 Pro, Quality mode now runs at native 4K (2160p) 30fps.
  • On PS5 Pro, Performance mode will upscale from 1440p to 2160p 60fps, using PSSR
  • Split screen on the PS5 Pro will now offer either 30fps or 60fps depending on whether you're using Quality or Performance mode

How the consoles setting compare to this?

These are huge upgrades. IIRC, the base quality was 1080p -> 1440p with FSR2 @ 60 FPS target (and terrible IQ) and quality was 1440p native @ 30 FPS. Performance was unstable. So these are huge upgrades. Can anyone test BG3?

I tried BG3 for 5/10 minutes (I’m just taking a cursory glance at each game with a pro patch currently). From my brief play-test it did look sharper (and with decent IQ) in performance mode, and the performance itself seemed great. Decent.

I’ve been impressed with all the games I’ve tried so far in one way or another. NMS is the last one that I tried and it looks ridiculously good. It’s like Hello Games have improved everything, from draw distance, to textures, to general performance. I didn’t notice any visual breakup in that game at all.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 looks much sharper than before (I was quite surprised tbh - the character faces look more defined, and textures pop in general), though I did notice the odd weird shadow in the city, and I don’t think it runs as smoothly as some of the other games I’ve tried. I only tried the RT mode though.

Split-screen cap seems to be lifted, too. PS5 and Series X both were capped at 30fps and typically dipped in larger populated areas.

Thanks! What display size are you using?

Silent hill patch is not live yet right?

There is a reason ElAnalista is banned. They just do a comparison between pro vs ps5 running the same game and listed as pro patch is broken.

How is that possible if you a technical analyst and can't tell they have not patch yet and running the same thing.

Mirage removed the graphics or fidelity option and is 4k/60, I know because I booted it it up try and the updated started downloading as I launched it, before installing the choice was there and after the update installed it was gone.
