List of PS5 Pro enhanced games

Well the general consensus is Dragons dogma 2 is impressive in ps5 pro both user and gaming media reviews. Well it is always subjective. I do believe there is big improvement in ps5 pro reading and seeing all the comments and reviews about it in ps5 pro. Stellar blade is the surprise. FF7 rebirth and Stellar blade are the two most impressive game in ps5 pro now. We have to wait for Gt7 but they said it is already good in ps5 pro.

I just tested it. Its fucking broken

aight so I saw this GT7 tweet and someone said "just wait for the patch"

and im wondering, does every game need to patch with its enhanced effects or is it automatically applied or something?

Played a bit of DA. You can see some shimmering on distant objects when moving the camera, but nothing too distracting and after a few minutes i dont even notice it anymore. Other than that, the overall picture is really sharp and mostly 4K like most of the time just like AW2

Man its really fucking bad. Anyone who waited for this, just wait until they fix this shit, because it looks horrible. There is no way it stays this way

Only positive thing is the improved fps in both modes. Quality feels rock solid even in combat now and while performance is not locked 60 in the first forest walk area but its like 55ish so pretty close and smooth on vrr display. Sadly i still dont recommend perf mode because of the shit GI settings

Unpatched games get boost, so 30-40% FPS upside in GPU limited scenarios (when there are no CPU limitations). PSSR requires patching.
Oooh ok thank you! And PSSR is like, the visual enhancer of said game?

Now some people saying its not patched. Can anyone confirm if there was a patch today or not for the game? Its definitely broken and looks way worse than before, but maybe its just broken on the Pro unpatched

PSSR is used as an AI upscaler. It looks much better than TAA/FSR1/2 which is what games were using. It takes a lower resolution input and reconstructs so it looks like the game is rendering at a higher resolution, so the image looks much better.
Ok so in reality there's no point in time where I'll be like "for this game I wanna disable PSSR"?

Also, is every future PS5 gonna have PSSR enabled or will only certain companies include it?

See my post. It pretty obvious even without people telling lol. There is no change at all except there are alot of flickering due to compatibility issue.

Pretty weird. This is the first game that has issues on Pro non patched. Hopefully the Pro patch isnt far out then
I think Control was also patched to resolve an issue if played on a PS5 Pro. Even f there isn't a PS5 Pro upgrade of the game.
So this might be a similar case, where it needs a patch to fix the issue or release an upgrade.

Yea. Look significantly better and sharper than the base consoles version which is abomination because the blurriness especially in motion you just couldn't make out the character. FSR man.

I can't believe Oliver singing pray to this game on the base consoles then go on and trash the pro version. I know the pro version has it fault but the Iq/clarity overall is a big step up.

Yes i just thought about control. Probably had the same issues on reflective surfaces. Weird

maybe sony can figure it out and patch it with a system update. Hopefully the SH Pro patch isnt far off

Setup done.
Disc drive inserted.
SSD swapped, it recognizes the games already installed on it without doing anything but a database reconstruction at the beginning.

First two games:
FF7R -> it looks better than quality mode but it's butter smooth at 60fps
Spiderman 2 -> advanced ray tracing is absolutely fantastic and the image is crisp like a pre-rendered movie.

Really impressed by these first two games, more to come.

Can someone test Witcher 3? And look if the grass is still glitching. Maybe record a pro session??

Interested as well. The performance mode was running pretty good on the OG.

So, I've been testing for 20-25min. So far, I haven't been able to replicate the glitch.
I left the game and started from the menu of the game 4 times, I started the game from the menu of the console 3 times and I also rebooted the pro twice just to be sure. I'll keep testing in the coming days just to be sure but I know for a fact that I could replicate the glitch in less than 2 min on my OG ps5 ^^

Edit : Still messing around : there's quite a bit of pop in when you start the save, reminiscent of that glitch, I'd say the first 10 seconds maybe, and then nothing 🤔

Damn, GOW look so good with PSSR especially the fur. Those wolf look extremely good with all the fur.

This might be the best PSSR implementation lol.

Been playing some TLOU2. This will sound crazy but I feel my point made after the previews stands, the iq and resolution in pro mode is almost too high and so far ahead actual geometry detail it makes the game look amazing but oddly dated in places all if a sudden… Still unmatched in motion and I’m so back for some no return here this weekend

Been playing some TLOU2.
Part II has downgraded shadows for some reason. Maybe their solution for the ultra soft shadows interferes with PSSR, but at the moment I wouldn't play the second game on Pro personally. Especially Santa Barbara. Shadows flicker like crazy and aren't as soft and realistic as they were before. Oliver already noticed this a month ago, but this has yet to be fixed.

Part I on the other hand.. only tried it for a little bit and it has blown me away.

All those issues I've noticed post patch on regular PS5 are nowhere to be seen here. Looks impossibly good in motion.

I've tested A Plague Tale Requiem a bit in the 60 fps VRR unlocked mode on the Pro, and the frame rate seems to hover around 80–85 FPS (at least in this particular scene). Not really a substantial boost since on the base PS5 the same mode hovered around 70 - 75 FPS. The fidelity 40 fps mode looks to be locked though while on the base PS5 I remember having dips below the 40 fps target.

For reference the base PS5 runs the following resolutions (Pro base resolution in bold):
Balanced: 1296p upscaled to 4K, 60fps (1512p)
Resolution: Native 4K, 30fps
Performance: 1080p upscaled to 1440p, 60fps (1440p)
Quality: 1080p upscaled to 1440p, 60fps (1440p)

Yeah I've tried TLOU part 1 for a bit and it's insane how clean it is and how fast it runs. I think I noticed constantly 70+fps on my tv hz counter.
This, Demons Souls and Forbidden west put ton of other games image quality to shame. Especially Alan Wake 2. It's still shimmmery after the patch.

BTW, Hogwarts didn't receive the patch yet did it? The balanced mode still usually below 48fps. Quality and quality rt modes 40-48fps too.
Balanced mode at 40fps locked still seems the best to me

Some highlights showcasing this machine:

Horizon Remastered: This has the best image quality (IQ) I've ever seen on a console and doesn’t appear to use PSSR.

Dead Island 2: Delivers impressive IQ and maintains a consistent 60 FPS, with settings seemingly pushed up.

Stellar Blade: PSSR works wonders here—not quite at Horizon’s level but still a game changer.

Spider-Man 2: The full ray tracing mode runs smoothly with VRR, likely maintaining 40-60 FPS. Ray tracing on reflections has improved, though it was already impressive. You might not notice many other changes, but overall, it stands out as a highlight.

Dragons Dogma 2 looks and runs great on the Pro. Playing with RT on, Motion Blur off and PSSR set to "Balanced". Just did a very heavy effects fight against a dragon, half a dozen NPCs and shit going off everywhere and it was consistently hitting 55+. With VRR on its very smooth. Very impressed DD2.

Diablo 4 next.

Good to hear. I started the trial last night and loved it. Plan on playing more this week with my pro.

That was fixed a while ago. While not perfect, it's mostly locked 40 on a base machine now. This game would be ideal for an upgrade.
Oh, alright. I had the game parked on my NVMe for a long time and played it way back when the 40 FPS mode was still dropping frames on PS5.

It would be great if they could unlock it, but I’m not holding my breath on this one. The 60 FPS VRR unlocked mode has too many IQ sacrifices to play it that way, in my opinion, although the frame-rate is great.

Try GOW and let me know your reaction especially at the beginning of the game with those wolf.

That's crazy. I really would love to understand how the glitch happens in the first place. I thank you very much man, you might have sold me on the pro (who am I kidding, hype is thru the roof already), but having Witcher 3 again would be amazing for me.

And you're right, when you start the game on regular PS5, it can start to glitch out in minutes, even if you get lucky and it doesn't happen for a little while. Pro is quite amazing eh, fixing CDPRs clunkiness
