Sorry to hear that. I am using a cable since I was sick of ps5 terrible wifi before....
Yeah same, always best wired anyway whatever the setup.

Make sure you have your broadband socket, and therefore router, near your AV setup in the room and you're good. To the extent where it's worth getting another socket put in if your stuff is on the other side of the room.

Fuck using wifi on fixed location devices if it can be avoided.

Thank you! This and it’ll just flat out drop a connection for me. Completely loop in errors and I have to force restart it or wait it out until it decides to want to work to download something.

Seems exchanging it won’t solve this.

Absolutely insane to launch a digital only console and screw up the internet part.
Yep this the truth right there.

And when i tell people to wait a few months before buying one they all come at me .

Sorry but when a refresh console that suppose to be PRO is worse in most aspects than the base console something is very but very wrong here.

And yeah i am digital only too and took me some time to finally say fuck it wired it is.

I mean sony what the fuck man

Easy answer.
My tv has local dimming bringing thr black close to oled level while also giving me better brightness and i can play my games in my living room where its very bright.

Oled was never an option.

Point is oleds are over rated as qleds are almost at the same level currently.

Absolutely and I say that as an Oled owner. People are acting like oled is some alien tech when it's not.

The 60hz mode with the newest BO6 mode on the Pro now has an uncapped frame rate, letting you go above 60fps. I was getting about 110fps on average with a couple of test multiplayer matches.
I hope they fix the graphics issue in campaign and zombies when using that mode

Odd. My LG TV gave out readings of 70-90fps, hovering mainly around the 80s.

Are there any other changes you've noticed?
In terms of frame rate or resolution/graphics? If you mean frame rate, I do think it’s a bit lower than the 120 mode, which is a locked 120fps. That being said, it’s still definitely higher than 60fps now. In terms of graphics, I notice a bump in resolution for sure.

It’s hard to estimate what the true frame rate is, I’ve learned the reading from the TVs themselves aren’t always 100% accurate.
I have the live counter going. Its immediate and provides values in the XX.XXhz. Is that what you are using?

No glitches so far on my OLED tv…
You using VRR?
There is when playing campaign and on terminus zombies map little white specs flashing every where
There with vrr and with it off

There are many complaints on Reddit about wifi on the PS5 Pro.

Might be worth a watch for you and maybe others who might be interested.

I think this is an aspect that gets ignored while it's a neat bonus:

Lots of poeple saying Outlaws is bad on pro, but dunno man. I think this looks great. The big patch comes out in a week, hopefully the game goes on sale aswell. Maybe they will improve the gfx even further

All the 4k vids of it Pro patched I've watched make it still look blurry. Especially in its full screen mode (who the hell wants to play with borders?). And I watched 10 or so of them. But its meant to be circa 1700p, so I dont know. I want to get it, but I'm lacking confidence and afraid its going to look like arse. Avatar looked awful on base PS5 in performance mode so I dont know.

Its not incredibly sharp but not that blurry either. Base performance mode looks awful compared to this

Yeah when you look at the changes. On paper at least it should look much better. But I'm frightened it will still look too soft regardless. I would really like a trial tbh. For me, I cant risk buying it after the videos I've seen and need to be more convinced.

There's something really weird about Remedy's engine on console.

Digital Foundry made a comparison video for Alan Wake 2 with the PC version (only available on Patreon at the moment) and basically the game seems to be running 40% slower in the performance mode compared to an rtx 4070 and 10% slower to an rtx 3070 or the cost of PSSR is just too high.

If we take an RX 6800 as a comparison for the GPU of the Pro, there should never be such a big difference with a 4070 and that makes even less sense that the game on Pro runs less smoothly than on a 3070.

It really gives the impression that the patch was done in a hurry and even the integration of the PSSR is not good knowing that we obtain a worse result than with the FSR 2.

This is clearly not very flattering for Remedy.

Oh patch isn’t out?

I’ll keep it installed. I downloaded it thinking it was out and it looked blurry as all hell like the base ps5 so figured Ubisoft sucks.

No, the Pro patch is out, just not the major gameplay overhaul. You should know for sure as there is no longer a selectable performance or fidelity mode. So how is it running on the Pro, blurry?

Sorry if its been ask before but in stellar blade is pro the better option then pro max? I noticed it seems to run in a low frame rate in pro max then in pro.

Alan Wake 2 is an outlier. The 3070 is already 50% than the regular PS5, which is on the higher-end of the spectrum. If the Pro only gets around 30% better raster performance, it still wouldn’t cover the gap.

On the flip side, you have games like GOWR where the regular PS5 is almost as fast as a 3070 Ti. This would put the Pro close to a 4070 Ti.

I didn't play it on base PS5 but I will say that Outlaws is still pretty soft on Pro. I think it's as good as its going to get though and I've heard it's a decent improvement over the base PS5 performance mode. Supposedly the Pro mode is the original "Quality" mode from PS5 but running at 60fps. If you're on the fence, wait until the 21st to see if the gameplay patch provides any further changes to the Pro visuals. They haven't said it will but you never know with stuff like that...

Regarding D4, some folks may have suspected that the Enhanced mode is now just the default Performance mode for Pro. I can at least confirm so far that none of the "Enhanced" features from that 30fps mode (RT Shadows or RT Reflections) are present in the Performance mode. The 60+FPS performance mode has the same graphical settings as before. The Enhanced 30fps mode appears to have higher quality RT Shadow and RT Reflections as per Blizzards official communication.

Conclusion so far is that whatever enhancements Blizzard included for their "Pro" support are only reflected in the 30fps mode. Performance mode users (likely 95% of console players) may see an improvement in IQ but for me it's not insanely noticeable from base PS5 and it's still not as sharp as the 30fps Enhanced mode.

So yeah, Blizzard seems to have just Enhanced a mode that nobody was even using...
Super lame update. Really sloppy from Blizz.

But will they actually fix it is the question? The Pro's biggest enemy is incompetent developers. We've seen some great Pro patches, but man having tested most of the big games that have been patched, half of these Pro patches suck. Alan Wake 2's Pro patch is actually GREAT compared to some other games (and I'm not that happy with AW2 lol). Aside from how weird it is that games like GT7 and Callisto Protocol are now removed from being listed as getting enhanced (wtf) let's examine a few games:

AC Mirage-i can hardly tell if anything was done here ...maybe slightly better iq?

Horizon Zero Dawn- no difference whatsoever and it even looks a little worse than base did during daytime conditions perhaps due to sharpening?

Dying Light 2- apparently patched but I've tried every single mode and they all look identical to ps5 base;

Rise of the Ronin- on Nov 7th i thought i noticed an iq boost but fast forward to today with patch 1.08 and the game looks worse to me now than it did- talk about incompetent the Graphics mode didn't even gain any frames despite being unlocked

Baulders Gate 3- looks exactly the same to me...don't know about framerate

These are just a few examples of Pro patches that if there is any difference it is certainly miniscule at best. Now, if it turns out some of these games didn't get PSSR and got enhanced in other ways, what are those changes because I'd expect to see some changes to texture quality, ao, rt etc. At least with Alan Wake 2 I can say for sure that the RT Reflections add a lot to the image and that I'm seeing more detail due to pssr ...the problem with AW2 is that the god damn aliasing is still a huge problem ..these other games? No differences ...rise of the ronin i thought had improved but studying today after patch 1.08 I'm thinking it was placebo...it don't look good

Still a blur. Didn’t play more than one minute.

Game looked the exact same to me as base ps5. Very lazy.

This game could've and SHOULD'VE been a showcase title for the Pro! Talk about disappointing. It already had an amazing looking RT Gi in the Fidelity mode ...so for Ubisoft to remove that option is just fuxking retarded. They're probably using Performance mode settings for their new "one mode for all Pro patched Ubi games" and as a result it's 60 fps and better than previous performance mode but there's no way to actually get great visuals for those who want to play at 30 fps ....this is why everyone is complaining about it looking blurry and soft still

PS- that Youtuber fluffs any game that has 60 fps. He's a fluff youtube channel with no real substance to his analysis

Super lame update. Really sloppy from Blizz.

This isn't unique to Blizz ...most Pro updates have been quick and dirty just like D4 ...not saying there aren't some great ones but man how disappointing to see so many low effort patches. We waited so long for this, spent $7000-$800, we should be at the very least be getting some effort put into things. Dying Light 2 on PC still trounces console for example, in fact I can't tell a difference in ANY mode if I'm really being honest...even funnier the default settings have gamma set to 20 and even on an Oled everything during daytime looks flat and bright as a result. If you're playing DL2 turn gamma down to 15 or 16 it looks a lot better.

Point is- these devs aren't even testing their patches let alone putting effort into adding things like RT or better AO (which this game really needs). I'm not convinced this game even uses pssr.

This.

Generally speaking, Remedy engine is not suitable for consoles. It has 2 major weakness for consoles specifically. First, it does not have DRS which is really crucial for frame rate and image quality optimization. Second, the engine contain techniques especially software GI which requires large bandwidth and consoles lack bandwidth, and the pro is no exception.

I also think at the moment, PSSR cost significant more than other upscalers, maybe up to 15 percent going by GOW benchmark.

Perhaps empire of the ants, the first descendant and Until Dawn remake are the better games for comparison.
