List of PS5 Pro enhanced games

You can 100% see a difference on Portal, even Richard from DF said as much in the video I posted. If a game runs at lower resolution and becomes more blurry on your tv the same effect will be reflected on your Portal.
This is just most notable on an actual tv.
Even the difference between 120hz on or off in Blops 6 is notable on Portal, even though the screen is only capable of 60hz.

Do you have a Portal, by any chance? And did you use it together with a PS5 and a Pro?

Compared to 4k screen, differences will be minor on small 1080p screen.

I don't have portal and I don't have use for it (fiancée has second screen for tv/netflix etc.) but I already used PS5 on my old 1080p tv in 2021. With downsampling every game has at least decent image quality.

It actually can. I honestly fail to see benefit to oled on mine

I have a G1 OLED and a QN90, and it's night and day difference for motion. I wouldn't be using rting as a source for motion conversations, throw up blurbuster on your TV and then look at it on an oled and you'll get your answer 👍

LED can't touch oled in motion clarity though either, and that's just by design. And on the opposite end 30fps is fricken terrible on an OLED(unless you're using Samsung gaming motion plus to save the day) because of how quick the pixel response time is, it's very jarring especially if the game has no motion blur.

They need to design new tech that uses the positives of all the different TV's and make them have a sexy perfect TV baby.

The quick response time is a benefit of OLED not a downside so no new tech is going to change. I hear what you're getting at though, but that's a bit like saying they should make 1080P TVs because not everything can output at 4k.

I was more getting at because sample and hold is so shit, it's a negative for oled at low fps because of how instant they are

You need 4K to better appreciate the Pro but that OLED thing is nonsense. The different technologies of televisions have their advantages and their weak points. To me Bravia 9 this year is THE SHIT to have and it’s not OLED.
I'm on a 27' 1440p monitor and the difference is huge. Supersampling from 4k to 1440p is just superb, the image is so clean and crisp it can burn your eyeballs in.

I never said otherwise. I said differences are already noticeable on Portal, which is a 1080p LCD screen.
This was in relation to people saying you need an OLED to be able to see differences.

So no idea why you would tell me to "stop making up shit" ?

That wasn't the point and it also isn't the same.

The qn90 what? A or b or c?

I tested an lg oled that was 9k vs mini led which is what i have now. Both 2023 models as thats when i bought it.
Had both delivered to my house and sent the oled back.

In my living room oled doesnr work.
I dont game in my basement .
Mind you i am on 85 inch and not on a 27 monitor

Lol oled my ass. You think i didnt do my research after spending north of 5k on a new tv?

The only genius here must be you with your weak comments.

This particular game?
Not mentioning jedi survivor that is pro patched?

Get out of here and pick on someone else.

At least i have a high end tv and a pro. Unlike you
5k$ is big oled territory.
Anyway - Oled is still king. We don't need to argue semantics

twice the input lag of an oled
Could not tell for the life of me honestly.
GAmes are very responsive and i dont need more.

To me it was more about color and brightness .

If i would play in a darker enviroment i would have went with the more expensive oled .

Now lets leave the tv wars for a different thread.

We were talking about motion clarity at a given fps, not a brightness debate. Ofcourse an led gets brighter, and will be better in a bright room compared to oled. It isn't just brightness though, most oleds have a gloss coating for more punch which will show every single piece of glare/direct lighting that heads its way

So what exactly is happening here? I just tried the game on PC with FSR and looks exactly like the one in the video. PSSR not working? Or PSSR only working with Frame Gen on?

yeah. no clue. but i do know on ps5 pro, when you turn on frame gen, the weird flickering goes away and it's much clearer than on ps5 in performance mode. allows me to turn on RT too.

And as i said there is no issue in motion clarity.
Quake 1 and 2 tomb raider and many other that support 120fps are butter smooth and zero ghosting or pixel crawl or what ever else you can throw at it.
And 30fps also works fine.

The way i see it, oled became this overhyped tech that is a decade old and ever since mini led tvs got way better than they were.
The new sony tv's that are not oled and shit all over oled.

Maybe people here should check out the latest qled or nled tvs .

And again my entry starts at 85 inch. At that size you are also looking at way more money for an oled but you dont get that much better picture quality to justify the price.

I needed an all rounder tv and oled aint it.

Moving on

It's like saying that you can see big difference between PS4 and PS4 Pro on 720p screen.

There will be some differences (like some obvious ones when gfx settings are different) but all games are downsampling from 4k buffer, no matter internal res or shit like that you get downsampled image. On small 1080p screen vast majority of PS5 games should look pristine.

REAL difference between Pro and PS5 can only be seen on big 4k screen, I don't think it has to be OLED (lol, what a requirement) but good quality screen for sure. PSSR was made to make good looking image on 4k and 8k screens.
Eh, I’m able to the differences on a 4K 27” monitor just fine.

You are close to a monitor and it's... 4k.

Small 1080p screen when image is downsampled from 4k output?
I’m just proving your bit about the size of the screen wrong. Had you just said 4K, I would have agreed.

I tried the Crew Motorfest free trial in its performance mode. Its a massive improvement. I tried it months ago and found it blurry. As others have already said, its now much improved on Pro. I personally wont be staying with it as I prefer Forza Horizon. But its an interesting alternative on PS5 Pro.
Good to hear. I got it recently just to try out because I didn't want another sim racer because GT gets all my time and it was cheap. Nice to mess around with while waiting for the GT patch.

Regarding D4, some folks may have suspected that the Enhanced mode is now just the default Performance mode for Pro. I can at least confirm so far that none of the "Enhanced" features from that 30fps mode (RT Shadows or RT Reflections) are present in the Performance mode. The 60+FPS performance mode has the same graphical settings as before. The Enhanced 30fps mode appears to have higher quality RT Shadow and RT Reflections as per Blizzards official communication.

Conclusion so far is that whatever enhancements Blizzard included for their "Pro" support are only reflected in the 30fps mode. Performance mode users (likely 95% of console players) may see an improvement in IQ but for me it's not insanely noticeable from base PS5 and it's still not as sharp as the 30fps Enhanced mode.

So yeah, Blizzard seems to have just Enhanced a mode that nobody was even using...
Diablo 3 was fucking 60fps on the nintendo switch. What idiot plays modern diablo at 30?

Cool! It used dynamic scaling .. do i guess yes
Wait, what do you mean? Is it running well on world tour mode and matches using resolution mode?
Someone reported it’s running at 120fps on Reddit and I swear it’s looking and running better to me load times are better and the image seems sharper to me. It’s not patched but the AI scaling might be working since it had an uncapped frame rate: again I’m not a graphics whore technical guy so I really don’t know but I was very underwhelmed with it visually at launch and haven’t played it much since.

I have to say this is the most frustrating console purchase experience I’ve ever had.

This thing is forcing me to buy an Ethernet cable and make my living room look stupid running this wire.

The WiFi is completely fucked on this console compared to original digital ps5.

I’ve run out of ideas. :/

No. I don’t think I will.

Router/modem I have both have worked fine and I paid for expensive ones.

Every device in my home has for tier WiFi speeds and the cable connected is 1000mbs.

0 issues with connectivity on anything.

I’m convinced I got a defunked console with a bad WiFi card or something because no one else is talking about this.

Sorry to hear that. I am using a cable since I was sick of ps5 terrible wifi before....

Exchange it. I would try redoing everything wifi and internet related from scratch if you did a restore from your PS5

It’s weird because I’ve tried:

Manual dns
Turning off ip6 or whatever
Other trouble shooting online

Restarting the console just a bit ago fixed it.

I also noticed when I booted it up from last night it made me redo HDR settings and disabled the settings I had enabled for display like the resolution, VRR etc.

I don’t recall prior PS5 updates undoing my settings?

As far as games I did try BG3 and getting more into it again and it does seem almost on par with my pc visuals maxed out.

Wifi 7 doesnt work properly on the pro.
I use ethernet as well cuz i only get 30 to 70mbs with wifi where as my old ps5 i got 700 plus download ans around 30 upload.

This console launch is half ass and thats a fact.
Thank you! This and it’ll just flat out drop a connection for me. Completely loop in errors and I have to force restart it or wait it out until it decides to want to work to download something.

Seems exchanging it won’t solve this.

Absolutely insane to launch a digital only console and screw up the internet part.

So odd, it's been the exact opposite for me. I'm now getting 1GB download with WiFi when with the launch ps5 I could barely get 400mbps.

Most of it seems to be download related errors to lock me out of downloading.

I just got DQ3 HD, had to restart pro after it couldn’t stop the loop of errors.

Finished downloading finally to hit play , and now it can’t start the game. Says restart your ps5 or delete and reinstall.

Seriously Sony should offer fucking refunds.

I want my OG ps5 digital back. This thing can sick my dick.
