List of PS5 Pro enhanced games

Not expecting additional Pro support for the RE games at all, but also don't think they need it as they finally offer a flawless 60fps experience in RT mode on this console.
Yeah, they're amazing with no patch needed. Finally a way to get rid of those awful screen space reflections that ruined image quality at a locked framerate now.

I really hope they will do the same with outlaws

What's wrong with Outlaws? And this is terrible because what are they fixing? Sorry, our PSSR implementation is crap so you have the option on Pro to play base PS5 mode. Why don't they just fix it instead of doing this? Obviously there is some major issue with it that they have no idea how to solve. I mean Sony is probably to blame for lack of support probably, PSSR probably came in very hot.

Just tried Ragnarok for the first time, and all I can say is that I'm shocked by the IQ. I thought I was impressed with TLOU, my first and only PSSR game played until now, because of the sharpness settings used by the game, but here the image is neutral and the options allow for TAA comparisons on the fly.. the difference is night and fucking day, and this is an entirely hyperbole-free statement. Especially in motion where the clarity when using PSSR I can only describe as staggering.

I honestly can't believe what I'm seeing. Had to force myself to even start a NG+ to try the Patch out as I'm not really a big fan of this game, but with it looking like this it's legitimately hard to stop. Those wolves looking at me once arrived home looked real and right there in front of me. This is amazing.

Do Spider-Man games offer this level of PSSR implementation? Or any other game?

PS5 Pro
  • In addition to the 'Quality (60FPS)' mode, the three base PS5 options of 'Quality', 'Performance' and 'Balanced' are now selectable graphics options
  • An 'Upscaler Type' toggle has been added allowing you to use either PSSR or FSR
Also, we're aware of ongoing issues regarding foliage flickering on PS5 Pro and crashes occurring when entering Mirogana City for some Luna and GeForce Now players. We are currently investigating these issues and are working hard to fix them as soon as we possibly can. Thanks for your understanding.

Hitman getting pro patched. Fuck yeah I can start part 3.

Outlaws patch is interesting. So where to begin. OK FSR 3 gives a crisper image and I prefer it over PSSR. However the lighting related flicker issues and shimmering is now definitely engine side and not PSSR. As I've now been able to try all the 3 original modes and Pro mode whilst switching between FSR3 and PSSR - the issues persist across ALL modes. Fidelity wise, ignoring the shimmering/flicker, is actually OK now. But the game simply needs more work. And the issues for me are still too distracting.

Once they fix the foliage lighting flickering though, I reckon it'll be good to fully jump in.

Hopefully someone can report on Avatar.

This is how I felt when I loaded up Spiderman 2, after finishing Miles Morales on my base PS5. And I know that Spidey 2 looks better than MM just by default, but it looks so sharp and amazing on PS5 Pro.

Forbidden West sounds like what you're describing. It's fucking clean looking. And I remember what it looked like on the base PS5.

Will try Ragnarok as that was next on my list.

I think Horizon 2 is the most wow out of all of them, the PSSR 60fps mode is just bonkers, how in the world are they doing that kind of fidelity at butter smooth 60-90fps is beyond me

Is it time for guerilla to start selling decima to more third party companies? It's already running on Xbox so becomes more viable for third parties.

Looks I'll have to buy SM2 after all, sooner or later. Used.
Downloading SM Remastered now as the PSSR implementation shouldn't differ much.

I did try Forbidden West (Burning Shores) for a few minutes, and I agree, image is immaculate. Not using PSSR though, and that's what it surprised me about Ragnarok being so insanely razor sharp and clean.

Another great game to try on Pro is Alan Wake 2 in 30fps quality mode, that game's visual quality is on another level as well. highly, highly recommended

I lost interest early in Ragnarock and stopped playing.
Now that I have a PS5 Pro, I'm going to give it another go. The problem is, I forgot how to play and am getting my ass handed to me.
I thought of starting a new game to re-learn but wow, the first hour is such a downer full of unskippable long cutscenes about death and loss.
I'm going to back to my original save and lower the difficulty until I click with the combat again.
And, by the way, it does look amazing.

The problem is "worse" is very subjective. For many of those games, they can be worse in some aspects but better in others so it's not an overall downgrade. Jedi Survivor for example is still better in my opinion even with the issues introduced while DF insists it's worse. It's hard to make an objective list.
Df is out of their damn minds with Jedi Survivor. It looks so much better now. AW2 in quality mode has worse artifacting than original. Black Ops 6 STILL has bad artifacting that was supposed to be fixed in last patch. Avatar and SW Outlaws look worse than base PS5 quality modes. SH2 im undecided on whether it looks worse or better.

These are the most problematic games so far.

Wow….Star Wars Outlaws fucked up their FSR3 implementation badly. If I have FSR3 upscaler turned on, I get horrible color banding across the entire skybox (no other settings are changed, just upscaler - TV and HDR settings are calibrated properly). With PSSR, this issue doesn’t happen at all. I’ll take PSSR over this shit any day.

FSR3:

PSSR:

I did some testing with the FSR3 implementation in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, and the FSR3 color banding issue isn’t happening there, isolating it only to Outlaws (same developer, game engine). How bizarre.

Wait until you get to NYC (dark place) and subsequently start spending time in indoor environments ...the image quality goes to shit and the aliasing/artifacting becomes worse than it ever was on base PS5.

The Pro does handle outdoor areas better now but my goodness, the game needs work still between the shimmering and how noisy certain RT reflections are ...i dont know if they'll ever be able to fix this game

Added Warhammer 40000: Rogue Trader, Atomfall and Sniper Elite: Resistance
I can't tell a damn difference between Rogue Trader now and before patch ...anyone know what was done? Did this game always have 2 modes? On Pro you have Fidelity mode which looks good but the same as I remember it. It also has a Performance mode which looks quite a bit blurrier than Quality running at 60.

Im thinking this is a dud.

The scenes with Atreus dog and the scene with the little bear cubs both made me cry damn it all!

Radical, I have 65 hours logged so trust mate when I say that the patch is disappointing.
Performance now is on par with the game running on base hardware (and we all know how it ran on the PS5).

Basically:
- better IQ
- same performance as on base PS5
- worse performance compared to the unpatched version on the Pro

Just wait and see for the eventual DF analysis 😉

Is not that bad…

Is not that bad…

Rad, not gonna go over the same things mate since that didn't go well the last time.
I'm just going to mention this : finished the new "obelisk" co-op missions a few minutes ago and during the last phase where you have to kill the sorcerer, the framerate tanked to the low 30s and it was like playing in slow-mo between all the explosions, FX, enemy respawns etc.

This is why I said in another thread that this game's performance problems are more nuanced that simply watching a performance comparison video and calling it a day.
King Dazzar King Dazzar also suggested that it might be some kind of online lag fuckery but, I don't think that's the case since you can see why the engine is getting stressed.

Anyway, it is what it is 😉

It´s not on the last patch man. It´s the next one, it's still for certification. BO6

FF7 Rebirth, Stellar Blade, Space Marine 2 all have phenomenal PSSR implementation.

Another game where pssr struggle to deliver better results than base ps5

I mean, out of all the problematic Pro versions/patches, Darktide ain't one of those since it still looks good (res-wise) and performs well, plus, compared to something like Space Marine 2, game's so hectic and fast that those DF 4x zooms or whatever the fook aren't really applicable since you won't be noticing them when playing the game.

The graininess...I'll give you that but it's mostly noticeable when you're inside the spaceship (?) when not doing missions.

It's an A-OK update compared to SH2Re/AW2/Avatar etc etc.

Any PS4/5 exclusive game in physical format I should get? I do mean, exclusive and physical because I'd still get them on PC if they're available there unless they really suck on PC (Jedi Survivor).

I have:

Bloodborne
Demon's Souls Remake
GOW PC
GOWR PS4/PS5
Rift Apart PC
Spider-Man/Remastered PS4/PC
The Order 1886
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves PC
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection
Gran Turismo 7
Horizon Zero Dawn/Remastered PS4/PC

inFAMOUS SS

On the shopping list: Astro Bot

Not really interested in HFW or Spider-Man 2. Might get them when they're super cheap, but they aren't right now.

Any news on Helldivers 2? That's the one game I'm really waiting for b/c I want to earn my stuff on Playstation instead of PC (I have it on both) and it looks so good on PC compared to base PS5. After playing Space Marine 2 on Pro and it looking SO damn good with the Pro patch, HD2 is gonna look and play amazing when it finally comes but it would be cool if we got a date or release window so I can stop checking every week.

PS5 & PS5 Pro Support and Optimization
  • PS5 Pro now supports PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). By enabling it, you can achieve a high-definition visual experience by selecting either Quality Mode or Balanced Mode in Settings.
  • The system supports 120 Hz Output. When enabled in Balanced Mode, it maintains a stable 40 FPS output. If you encounter any visual anomalies, you can turn it off in PS5 Settings.
  • Various scenes and boss fights have been optimized for better game performance.
  • The stability of frame rates and visual clarity in both Balanced Mode and Quality Mode have been enhanced.
  • The input response speed has been improved in Performance Mode.

Seems like someone told them 45 fps wasn't it.

LFC mode at 40 is the answer, though it's strange that there isn't a 60 fps performance mode.
So you’ll now apologize for saying I had an agenda when I said the game wouldn’t be much improved without a patch? Hint: it wasn’t.

LOL... you haven't even played the game, nor do you have any knowledge if this is the last patch for the game.

It seems like they probably have a lot of work to do, but it's better that they get something out sooner rather than later.
