thats probably more than the budget for some of these eps.

What in the flying hell are they thinking trying to sell it for that much. No other info on it either on Amazon right now, meaning you don't know what you're getting other than a Log Horizon DVD. I must assume that it's printed on gold and includes all of the current LNs to balance out the cost.

I was looking up anime DVD's and there it was. I wonder why 3 is at the end though.

EDIT: alright this shit is getting insane (the hell is going on, no I haven't seen this nor want to)

My guess is it's volume 3, at least based on the amazon.co.jp listings for bluray copies of the series.

Volume 1, 2 (on preorder), and 3, which isn't available yet. Each volume is cheaper too, though some physical media is really expensive in Japan to begin with. Mostly movies, anime, and music.

Why would amazon list 3 and not 1 or 2? And since has amazon.com listed an anime release so soon as it ends (it's about to) in japan? I don't remember this EVER happening.

Can someone tell me when this show gets good? I've watched the first few episodes and so far it really just isn't catching my interest. There are no stakes, nothing is important and no one is that upset about anything. Also there is no foreplay or anything. Seriously I know adaptations from light novels aren't easy but this show is really just boring the crap out of me.

The stakes do get raised eventually, though in a different way than in say, Sword Art Online.

The pacing doesn't really pick up though, and a lot of time is spent on politics and world building, so the show just may not be for you.

have you ever messed with mmos? I can't see this interesting anyone that hasn't dabbled in mmos before

That isn't an american release. If you look in the extra info it says "Import".

It is a product release for the Japanese version that somehow ended up on the USA Amazon website.

Those are not the only ones. But Imagine someone getting it.

Funny enough the 3rd volume doesn't even have a price on the Amazon.jp store, even though all the others including the volumes after it have a price.

The prices for the blu-rays are crazy but not as bat shit insane as that price on the american site. The Blu-rays are $60 each on sale, with about 4 episodes each.

I'll ride it out a bit longer. I'm definitely into the world building and politics stuff its just that the first few episodes are utterly devoid of content so it didn't leave a good impression

I was a top 3 druid doing end game raids before I finally had the good sense to quit. I played a bit of daoc, et and lots of UO but wow was my drug of code for about 2 years. I loved .hack//sign and just completely binge watched SAO so I have no problems with MMO's haha. That's why I was so disappointed because it really doesn't take a lot to get me excited about MMO shows or games.

I'll throw down a few more episodes and see whether I'm feeling it or not.

There's actually a huge plot hole in the current arc.
If you remember, People of the land cannot gain levels. Lenessia mentions they can have job classes though (mentions her kingdom's summoners). When we first met Rudy, he was turned down by 3 adventurers for being too low level. When he introduced himself to the noob group, he was level 23. He managed to equip the lvl 25 mage glove(?) before he became an adventurer. When he respawns in the cathedral, his level was shown to be 25.

Based on information from wiki if i'm not wrong, it's possible for people of the land to gain level, though at slower rate and no respawn, can someone confirm this?

Correct.
In the LN this was why Rudi was training so much harder to keep up, but still falling behind in leveling.

Log Horizon 21

Great episode, but who the hell was that
all knowing lady?
New arc starting with 3 episodes left? ARGH. This will end in a cliffhanger :(

Rudy was amazing again haha.

So I watched the first four episodes, and I found them kind of generic. There wasn't really any tension since nothing could happen to the characters, and all the female characters are really annoying.
What were they even trying to do to Serara? Why should we give a shit? Can she stop being so annoying? Why should we care about what they do to AI characters?

Should I keep on watching, does it get more interesting/different or if I didn't like it thus far I'm not likely to change my mind?

Episode 21:

Lot of shipping in this one. Serena and that cat guy is weird, cause she's like... ten. And he's a cat. Which makes her a furry. And now theres apparently a love triangle with Shiroe. And Crusty is in love with his sister. Ok.

Some interesting plot points in this episode, like that woman who knew what Shiroe did and the magic in the west. Interested to see where that goes.

Rudy being shown as a dog continues to make me laugh.

Also, only 3 episodes left? That makes me sad. Probably wont be a season 2 so no clousure...

Log Horizon Episode 21:

So we end the arc with a grand ball and not going to lie, kind of wanted to see the Goblin King die in a grand battle but I am willing to bet the budget was just not there for it. At any rate, yea, this was pretty much ship tease porn and also a decent example of how to use your time skips to move along the plot. We also see the seeds for the next arc being planted as the West is beckoning. It really doesn't feel like we only have three episodes left.

ugh there's seriously only 3 episodes left? How are the sales for this series? We need a second season after the book gets further along

I completely agree with that. This feels much more like a good ongoing anime with a few light episodes inbetween heavier arcs. I also am worried
for Shiroe and the growing group of adventurers who are becoming untrusting of both him and the Round Table. Not sure if we will get to the point of a coop by the adventures or not, but I could see it being one of the major plot arcs in the future.

I like the building the west as well. I think I got so attached to the story that I completely forgot that there is a massive world out there with tons more people playing than the few in Eastern Japan. I think I like that too, since even in the MMO, their world is just one small part and there is so much more to explore outside the confines of the current region they reside.

Can this show not end in a few weeks please?

Ep. 21:

So much shipping!

Also, it would be good to hear more about what is going on in the other adventuring cities.

I am going to miss this show, but then GoT will be right around the corner. So, I wouldn't have as much time to appreciate it.

Was gonna give Shiroe shit that he needs to step up and give some attention to his girl but he redeemed himself in the end.

I wish the opening song was less completely garbage.

Legit question: What don't you like about it? It gets me pumped for every episode and I find it be one of the better openings for any anime in recent history.

Maybe you just aren't living in the DATABASE? Wow...

Terrible, cheesy lyrics, annoying singing. Not catchy at all.

Login you damned ones? Come on.

Truthfact.

I really wish we could get an anime that is about being stuck in an mmorpg that doesn't have all the crap like crushes and little kids. I hate how the newbies are all kids.

A few things: this anime's plot does go along very slowly and there's not a lot of action (though there's some).

Now, since this is quite spoilerish a few things bout your specific gripes will be tagged. Regarding Serara
they mention later in the story that some crimes (that they may or may not be doing to Serara) are much more serious when the victims can't even die to escape their suffering

As for the AI characters
they are very much real people native to the world, who feel pain and suffer (and can die from it) One on the main characters right now is actually an "NPC" but not even player characters can tell the difference

The "PvP" fight coming up is one of the better pieces in the show so if you don't like the action from that and the story doesn't grab you by the double digit episodes or so it just may not be for you.

Episode 20

So was this Shiroe's first 'shonen bullshit magic' move in regards to him reviving RHC? If so, impressive.

Episode 21

Everyone in this fucking anime is cuter than fuck and yet they look like normal people

nice cooldown episode. Everyone being dolled up was awesome. Isuzu and Rudy are goddamn adorable.

It is kinda new, but at the same time they set it up really well, so
I don't think it's deus ex machina really.

Probably just not for you, I enjoy the show a lot, and I like it much more than Sword Art Online. I love the politics and tactics, and the technical aspects of being like an MMO.

It's funny how everyone seems to be OK with being in a videogame. Of course it makes a difference that the characters don't die in real life like they do in SAO, but there doesn't seem to be any mention of trying to find a way home. Then again, since they're all mmorpg players maybe they perfer to be trapped in a game?

Well, what can they do? Where would they start?

Their primary goals were making life in the game better. Actually figuring out why they are there is a secondary priority, to be dealt with after they have some infrastructure up and running and better understand the mechanics of the world they are in.

For the same reason why you always set up shelter first when you're lost in the wilderness, you don't know how long you're gonna be lost nor how to get back to civilization, so you take care of survival first so you don't die prematurely. Not a perfect analogy since you don't die in real life, but there are fates worse than death.

So where is this going? Can someone just spoil where this next part is going with Akatsuki, Minori, and Shiroe?
