Nobody's disputing his records or that he is a great swimmer, as said before, it's HIS WORK ETHIC AND ATTITUDE TOWARD THE GAME WHICH IS REFLECTED IN HOW HE ACTS He could act like a wacko for all I care if he'd just shown some more tenacity and enthusiasm for the competition this year. That's just who he is. He a talented as fuck, bland ass dude who smokes pot and play videogames. That's who Michael Phelps is. Clary was copping pleas last year when he was beasting that he didn't try as hard....and still kicked ass. He never was a hyped guy outside of his Goku moment last year and that was pretty much it.

Also it's pretty hard to be hype when you aren't winning. Not sure what you are looking for him to do. You want him to be pissed and rage (then people would call him a poor loser)...you want him to be hyped for second place (then people would still say he's satisfied with mediocrity...which IMO silver is not.).

Could he have trained harder? Yep. Is some of his losses due to laziness and him expecting to just show up and win? Probably...but this doesn't seem to be something new.

If you want to watch gymnastics (or any of the really popular events) on TV then you have to watch it tape delayed. But all of it streamed live on NBC's website, so many of us have already seen it.

I honestly don't remember NBC being this shitty back in 08 during coverage. I don't see ESPN covering this because they are so in love with american football that everything in the world takes a backseat.
