That was awesome. GB celebrating like it won gold, China was like it came in last place, and the American that won gold seemed like he was celebrating winning a PS3 in a contest or something.

Do you think they have Tom Hammond and his bad eyejob record commentary for old events? Cause I don't think they are on TV.

Saying that, some of the dives today though made me wince. I mean if you flipped into the corner of the platform you'd definitely kill yourself.
Not the olympics, but a Russian diver died after doing just that. I wonder if banning inward dives was ever considered.

People were joking that NBC would do this... didn't think it would actually happen though wow O_O

Not to toot my own horn, but I nailed it. My sister and I went to watch the Campaign, and I come home to see my dad watching diving. I asked him how much of the volleyball match they showed, and he said "I haven't seen any". I rolled my eyes in disgust. Just extra coverage of the diving competition like I expected. I would have paid big money to get the BBC's coverage on my television. The online stream offered by NBC was a buffering joke.

edit: hey look they are going to show some points of the volleyball game

Men's 4x100 was amazing. Didn't think for a second Bailey would beat Bolt, but watching them shoulder to shoulder coming down the last 100m way ahead of everyone else was awesome.

I'm not really sure why everyone likes Bolt. I mean I get that he has a bit of a personality, but in between calling himself a legend and taking shots at Carl Lewis, you'd think people would be like, "Hey. You. Shut up."

I knew Bolt was going to take it. What got me was how Blake utterly destroyed the little lead the US had.

edit: Carl needs to stfu with the swiftness. Bolt wasn't out of line for calling him out.

Lewis accused him and a lot of runners as juicers.

Yeah, I went from liking him to having too much of his self promotional antics somewhere between the 100m and 4x100m finals.

Really proud of the USA this games.. won a number of golds in events that in recent years we have struggled to do well in. I do wish we had a government-sponsored system in place so we could focus on some of the fringe events and not just concede them but what can ya do.

Fantastic to see a man from the US win a diving gold again.. been a lifetime for many of the athletes!

Lewis started it with his comments that reeks of jealousy

Nothing wrong with calling yourself a legend when that's exactly what you are. I don't see what the problem is. It's not like he talks shit about other sprinters.

Hah... show some of the first set of the volleyball match, talk about Mitt Romney for a bit, then say "Yeah..the US won the first game, lost the 2nd and 3rd, here's the 4th game, let's start it with the score at 19 to 13"

Bolt talks, but he also has evidence of being the best. No other sprinter has won the 100/200 double in back to back Olympics. He is the greatest sprinter of all time.

I don't like or dislike him based on anything he says off the track, he's just a phenomenal athlete on the track and it's exciting to watch him race.

If they werent willing to show them lose then show it fucking live. NBC fucking sucks.

Seriously. Was really looking forward to the match. Instead I get an additional 2 hours of bs to watch. They could've easily shown it on one of their three cable networks where they ran out of stuff to show and had to replay the men's soccer match twice. There they at least showed the bronze medal match in it's entirety.

They showed the first few points of the first set ( the one that USA won ) then the last 5 or so points of the 4th set. That's it. Maybe 10-15 minutes of coverage of that gold medal match was shown. I hope NBC never gets out of their 4th place hole

I don't care it's the only gold we win at these Olympics, this was huge. The biggest accomplishment Mexico's football has ever achieved. These guys went through a lot in order to get here. So much criticism after that awful Copa América performance by pundits who didn't understand the disadvantage they had been forced to play with.

I'm so proud of these guys. Mier, Aquino, Fabián, Herrera, Reyes, and Chatón are surely gonna leave for Europe soon. Corona and Oribe could still play in one of the top leagues, but I doubt they will be called considering their age. More importantly, this makes everyone so hopeful for the future: this is the base of the team that will play in Russia 2018. Add to them the guys who just won the last u-17 World Cup and a few of the guys like Guardado and Chicharito who will be veterans in 2022... I'm so ecstatic for what will come.

This is a country that has gone through so much bloodshed these past six years. You have no idea how much this means for us. A gold, against Brazil, in Wembley, in the sport we all love. So big.

As for the cherry on the cake, Mexico also won bronze in Tae Kwon Do today! We've surpassed Sydney as our best olympic showing outside of home soil on the medal count. Too bad we couldn't secure a second gold to overcome it in the ranking. Still, certainly a lot better than the two/three medals people foresaw before the competition began.
Where's Regulus Tera?

Congratulations man :D
I'M SO FUCKING DRUNK I NEVER DRINK

This Olympics just went by fast, holy crap. 3 weeks in the bag already.

There's Sochi coming up for the 2014 Winter Olympics, then next thing you know, we're in Rio for 2016.

Congrats on the gold Regulus, it was in exciting match.

It pains me to say as a proud patriotic American, but I'm starting to enjoy watching soccer. :(

If your talking about the men I should slap you.

And I am so glad to slightly rub in the USA Medal win to non-Americans doing trash talk outside of GAF. They made for a great games.

lol @ NBC trolling Brazil an hour back...Brazilians win Volleyball gold followed by Brazilians lose soccer match.

Anyhow, I've tuned out this second week after following the first week closely. That's how it always goes with me. Second half isn't nearly as good but I'm pumped for the Marathon in 5 hours. NBC will be airing it live at 5am Central. =)

lol@ people hating on Bolt.

When you're the fastest human recorded in our species' history you can talk as much shit as you fucking like. Period.

I don't see anyone hating on Jordan or Ali. And they talked mad shit.....

Exactly

And Lewis didn't diss or accuse Bolt, he dissed and accused Jamaica as a WHOLE.

That's worth more than what Bolt said

Lewis did diss and go right at Bolt:

Lewis had also questioned Bolt's actual sprint record, saying,"I'm still working with the fact that he dropped from 10-flat to 9.6 sec in one year. I think there are some issues. I'm proud of America right now because we have the best random and most comprehensive drug-testing program."

Asked before the London Games what he thought of Bolt, Lewis added: "It's just... interesting. I watch the results like everyone else and wait... for time to tell."

I'd prefer if Bolt kept it cute regardless of the circumstances, but he does indeed have ALL the receipts necessary to talk shit. His senior sporting career has been practically infallible.
