Lords of the Fallen |OT| Not that one. The other one.

How are the bosses now? The initial reviews said they were too easy which was a let down to hear.
They haven't made anything in the harder since launch, just easier. This game is a lot like Demon's Souls, where getting to the bosses is the hardest part of the game, and even that they've toned down significantly. They did add in options to add back difficulty and even remove bonfire equivalents, but nothing really changes the bosses.

They offer a fair challenge. If they feel too easy, you can fight with a lower-level weapon(how much you struggle on the way to the boss gives you a clue). Difficulty varies depending on the character level too.

This game is a lot like Demon's Souls
Yeah, I can say it's similar, especially in terms of boss difficulty.

I felt the same way when I first played it. Enemies were coming from everywhere and combat was floaty. It was like an mmo at that time. I deleted it after the first boss.

I gave it another shot after the 1.7 patch, and I've been playing it non stop for nearly 40 hours. With its atmosphere, world, bosses, music, and gameplay, it's an amazing game, 9/10. It definitely deserves another chance.

It also has a last second perfect block mechanic like Sekiro, and after doing it 2-3 times, you get a chance to perform a critical attack. I think all souls games should have this.

Btw Lies of P was also great. I used to think it was the best soulslike outside of From, but as a whole Lotf appealed to me more.
I went back to this, installed it last night. Tried it today. I'm shocked. They seriously made it feel like a legit Souls game in terms of character control. It feels much better than before. That's crazy.

I've been playing this now as well after finishing Elden Ring. Honestly, its rock solid so far. The combat is good and works well mechanically. As soon as I get the last two endings in Elden Ring, I'm going to focus on nothing but this game. Apparently it also has seamless co-op, which sounds amazing. Maybe some GAF'ers want to link up some time? Xbox here.

I agree. To me LotF feels like a Dark Souls 2.5, a serviceable middle ground. My biggest complaint was getting the Radiance ending, so anticlimactic. Never doing that again. Gotta replay it to get see the other two endings.

That's a lot of improvements. I can't believe 'More feminine features' is in a features improvement video in the year of our lord 2025.
I liked the game when I initially played it. I couldn't get past the boss on what I remember was some bridge. Rage quit and never went back to finish. Maybe I'll try again.

This is an amazing update that so many other games should be doing ...improving the way the game actually plays. If a game has a glaring fake with its combat for example the devs should, if they really care about their game, want to fix those kinda things...all too often that never happens ....for example they spoke about the auto targeting being fixed...thats great! I can think of quite a few games where the targeting jumps back and forth to different enemies when you're trying to focus on just one guy

Redownloaded it last week having not played it since I finished it on base PS5. Looks gorgeous and runs near perfect on Pro, latest update sounds like a winner, might just do a second playthrough for one of the other endings 👌

Edit: I will add that having recently gotten the Platinum trophy for Khazan the combat in Lords doesn't feel nearly as satisfying/impactful, hopefully this update added some "oomph".

Posting this in the OT as well.

Redownloaded it. It does feel way better. The movement is more grounded and solid feeling over the somewhat floatiness of it before. Also, I forgot about the modifiers that you can activate. Random enemies, random loot, pre upgraded loot based on the level you are, etc. Having a fun time starting a new game. The jump button is so nice.

Might have to dive back into this. I played through 1.0 and enjoyed it, but a few bosses and the Radiance ending left me pretty jaded, and I didn't enjoy how they handled the "bonfires" in NG+.

This update looks great though. Curious to how movement and combat feels as I didn't have many complaints with it before other than randomly flying off ledges due to comboing too close with basic attacks.
