brandonh83 said:I won't disagree, I'll just throw in that if you are indeed right (and there's seriously solid evidence there) that the flash sideways being a result of Jughead is sort of "how" the island created that reality for them. I don't want to call it purgatory either because that's sort of a negative word, isn't it? But it was clear to me that they wanted us to think that it is a type of afterlife or whatever you want to call it. Christian telling Jack that they're about to "move on," Christian opening the doors to the church and the heavy light coming through as we intercut with Jack dying, and so on.
I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying, not in a way at least. I agree that it was probably caused by Jughead, but that's the way the island created the flash sideways for them. That's just what I think. In the end I kind of think we're both on the spot in a combination of ways :lol
Oh, I thought they were editing it in the episode.. awesomeSolo said:That has nothing to do with The End, bro. Its completely separate.
I'll watch it now... Not sure why I thought that, The end is too perfect to mess with.BenjaminBirdie said:I doubt it will be edited in. I'm sure it'll be a stand alone short. It would undermine the entire show if it ended with 14 minutes of the Giacchino cue from when Hurley made the sign on Randy's lawn out of gnomes.
:lol

That's how I imagine it. Tons of camera winking and fourth-wall breakage.Solo said:It will probably just be exposition that answers some of the lingering questions.

Seriously. The show served up the most perfect resolution for these two characters. Endless possibilities.gdt5016 said:That. Is. Awesome.

Fox really delivered the whole episode. Jack breaking down after realizing he was dead was the closest I came to losing it.neoism said:You know looking back and thinking about Foxy's performance... it was sooo fucking good. Definitely his best of the series. I really hope he wins an Emmy. I've always believed his acting, it seems like he isn't recognized by his acting for some reason. Shame too, because he seems like a pretty good dude. I do think Terry and Micheal are the best actors on TV,but he did so good in the finale. Has he won any awards for his role as Jack?

brandonh83 said:So what's this I'm hearing about the additional footage on the DVD/BR? Will it be incorporated into the home video version of The End?
gdt5016 said:No.
It's totally separate.
brandonh83 said:Probably for the better. People would be like well why wasn't this on there to begin with?
Heh, nice.cyclonekruse said:Awhile back we were debating the necessity of having the final scene be in a church rather than in the Lamp Post Dharma station that was presumably below.
Upon rewatching those closing moments, I get why it had to be the church. All the characters sitting in the pews facing forward mirrors the first moments that (most of) these characters were together: their ride on 815. I can't fathom why I didn't notice that earlier. It was a nice touch.
I also enjoyed the shoulder pat that Christian gave Jack. A fitting expression of the pride that he had for Jack but failed to show and also a throwback to S1 where he did the shoulder pat to get Jack to sign off on the pregnant girl's death. This time, however, there was no ulterior motive. Just genuine pride.
In another S1 episode, when Jack is getting married, Christian mentions that Jack's problem is that he can't "let go." Ho-ly shit.
The references to previous seasons packed into this one (albeit extremely long) episode is mind-numbing.
Yeah, they won't pull a Lucas on this one.gdt5016 said:Yeah.
