Not gonna lie, I don't think anyone else would want to watch that more than once.
I've watched AtS about 4 1/2 times since the original broadcast, my most watched S6 episode after The End.

It got progressively worse with each viewing.

I thought watching it multiple times would somehow numb me to the glaring faults that you and others have described. But honestly, it just magnified all the missteps exponentially. Embarrassing was an apt description. Sadly, time and reflection doesn't improve a damn thing in this episode's case. The truth hurts, mang.

I watched it only a second time, and this did hold true. I've been scared to watch it since. :(

I remember liking AtS more a week after if first aired. I was able to get rid of that incredible dismantlement and just watch it as it was.

It's not the worst episode of the show, but it's a major, major fumble, no doubt. All the worst things about the show, rolled up into one episode, with some new bad stuff to boot.

as soon as the magic cave light appeared, I was like,

"No..........no.............the writers can't be THIS FUCKING STUPID!!!!"

Seriously, magic cave light, mystical flowers and woodland creatures is the "mystery" of the show.

I may as well not have bothered watching.

The character based ending was emotional and fulfilling though, I just don't like it when a deus ex machina gets pulled out of a writers arse, I also didn't like the introduction of "magic" into the show, so much of the earlier series are based on blowing your mind with character or Sciency based twists, that when they started pulling magic out of their arse in the later series, it really cheapened the show.

:( Poor Locke. It's still not right what happened to him. The picture above with MiB taking off the mask reminded me of it.

Yeah, I have trouble moving on sometimes :-P

Sorry dude I was exaggerating, Although there are pretty flowers in the Magical Light scene
I knew you were exaggerating >_>

I've seen very few lost shirts that I like, unfortunately. I kind of like that one, but it's really busy.

I couldn't imagine it getting any worse if i watched it again.:(

Not really gonna read the thread cause of spoilers, but...

On Season 2, episode 13 (The Long Con).

Ana Lucia can die in a fire. The worst character on the show, and that's saying something ( MAAAAAA BAAAAAAAAAAAAAABIES!)

I'm going to avoid spoilers of course, but I really think they fucked up Ana Lucia's character. They usually show why a character is 'lost' in their lives, why they are who they are, and they show reasons why she might be a bitch, but they don't show anything predating it to prove she was once nice.

I also heard Michelle Rodriquez wanted a softer roles than one she's typecasted in.

She killed Shannon in one of the first few episodes and is the biggest bitch on the island! All-in-all, season two has been slightly disappointing. There have been some great episode (Orientation, ...And Found, Abandoned, The Other 48 Days, The 23rd Pslam, The Long Con), but overall a lot weaker than the first season.

Oh well, this is going to be a long Lost night :lol

Yeah, season 2 is weaker for sure, I think season 4 is up there with season 1, hang in there, a lot of incredible TV to come.

Watching Ab Aeterno for the hell of it. Good god damn, this episode. Soo fuckin good.

RICHARD: You wanna know a secret, Jack? Something I've known a long, long time. You're dead.

HURLEY: You mean that figuratively right?

RICHARD: No, I mean literally. We are all dead, every single one of us. And this, this, all this, it's not what you think it is. We're not on an island, we never were. We're in Hell. So, I'm not interested in what Jacob said. In fact, maybe it's time to stop listening to him, and we started listening to someone else, and that's exactly what I'm gonna do.

Epic spoilers.

I come into this thread after a post, control+f my username and then go from there. This post just happens to be at the bottom. Don't worry, wouldn't be the first time I've been in one of these threads before. :lol

Also, Maternity Leave is so much better than Raised by Another.

First time you see Alex I believe, the beginning of something beautiful.

Just watched the finale for at least the 20th time. So Amazing. I want the final song The End to be played at my wedding when I'm older. Seems perfect.

I was never a hadcore lost guy... I kinda faded in and out. Watched all of Season 1 and all of Season 6, but I'm pretty sure there is one season (4? 5? not sure...) that I missed entirely. Rather than watch it myself I would just ask my wife what happened. Her response was usually "I'm not even sure" :lol

Anyway, been eying the Blu Ray collection but goddamn... $195 on Amazon is too much.

What are the odds we get a Blu Ray collection without the game board, ankh, and other BS with a lowered price? I'd pounce on a ~$150 set that dropped the fluff...

The second half of season 2 is much better than the first half.

Also i love the ending to maternity leave.

Its the beginning of the second best dynamic in the show

Locke and Henry Gale

Season 1-4: Amazing show
Season 5-6: .......

that about sums it up. in retrospect, it would've been great if the show ended after season 4 and the island left most of its mysteries unanswered. the disappearance of the island being one of the last scenes would've been great. still, season 5 had ''the life and death of jeremy bentham'' and some other great episodes, i'm sure, so it hasn't been a complete waste of time.

''across the sea'' is just about the worst lost has ever gotten.

Season 6 is the best season

Ive watched every episode 10 times minimum rewatched the show twice since it ended.

Season 6 is easily one of the best seasons.

Objectively, most definitely not. I think that goes 4>3>1>2>5=6 or so. But I think you could make a subjective case for it if you wanted to.

Gonna be rewatching these soon. I will say that Locke standing up for the first time is absolute cinematic fucking magic. Definitely one of my top 5 moments on TV.

I watched the pilot again last month with a friend. Whatever my misgivings about the tragedy that was Season 6 (loved it like my firstborn all through the end of the fifth season), the pilot might be the best pilot I've ever seen in my life. Just such an intoxicatingly brilliant and engrossing two hours.

I agree that overall season 5 was kind of ho-hum except for the awesome finale.
But I cannot get behind the season 6 hate. Blows my fucking mind apart.

I personally hated it because they spent so much time trying hard not to answer stuff that it came off pretty forced.

I'm the exact opposite :lol Absolutely adore season 5.. though, I am a time travel nerd.

Wouldn't say I *hate* season 6, but overall I find it to be a huge misstep. Especially in retrospect and on re-watch... I feel like the writers made so many strange (and poor) decisions about how to spend the season's time. (Temple? Characters 'switching' camps? The highly repetitive and drawn-out sideways and it's "clues"?... all a colossal waste of time IMHO)

Anyway, trying to list problems that are unrelated to the quality of the big mythological "revelations", which I also found disappointing :( :P

Still love and appreciate the show overall, but season 6 was ultimately a let-down for me personally. Oh well, can't expect perfection, especially with the show being such a complex and enormous undertaking for the people involved.

Edit: At least S6 gave us Ab Aeterno ;)

I still haven't re-watched since it finished, going to leave it a year or so, and I really want to watch it with someone that has never seen it before so that I can watch their reactions.

I used to do that a lot when I was in college/uni. I've re-watched seasons 1, 2 and 3 a lot because I would often introduce the show to new people and watch it with them. Watching certain scenes or seeing certain pictures from the show often chokes me up a little bit inside...feels like I was there on the island with them for the journey :(

Anyway I haven't bought the box set yet because I hear the UK version was gimped compared to the US version, am I going to have to import?!
