Just got this email as well for my standard copy. I can't cancel due to being a prime member and saving that $10 from preorders.

I didn't have any intention of cancelling, but its good to know that because I am a prime member as well, that I can't cancel. Thanks for that.

I guess I'll be picking up Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 on my way home.

get some go again
don't know why they changed so much of the design when they nearly had it perfect with the sfxt pad. changing something just for the sake of change is dumb.

any reviews for the fight sticks yet? This is the first time Im buying fight sticks, preordered the Tes+ and TE2, but not sure if I want to keep both. Are fight sticks good for reselling or do they worth nothing after a few months?

The sticks are pretty similar to the previous versions with the plexi issue resolved, a few new buttons added and some minor build quality upgrades so you're not going to see much of a difference in impressions.

From what I have seen they seem to keep thier value pretty well. If you don't actually need two I'd probably just pick one or the other.

nothing substantial, gonna have to wait for a few weeks to get some solid reviews rather than unboxing hype

Quick question, apologies if it has been asked and answered before: do any of these newest Mad Catz products (like the Alpha etc) work on PC's as well out of the box
like when using emulators
? Or will I have to toy around with custom software and drivers?

I don't believe so (at least for SFV on PC) but Markman posted full details about each from MadCatz website quite a few pages back.

BTW how are you liking your Alpha?

I've never used a fightstick before, but I want to buy one for SFV. I've always used the dual shock for fighters. I'm looking at the Mad Catz WWE All Stars Brawl Stick, the Mad Catz SXT Cross Arcade Fightstick Pro or the Mad Catz Street Fighter IV Arcade Fightstick Tournament Edition 2. I would appreciate any help with choosing a great fightstick that is durable and good value for money.

How do these compare to the SFV Arcade Fightstick Alpha?

Avoid wwe stick, other two are great
See if you can find used!

So you're telling me that a usb stick won't work on PC natively, for SFV or any other official or unofficial PC fighting game? Jeez, I honestly had not expected that. That does dampen my enthusiasm quite a bit to be honest, but maybe there will be a work around at some point. I supose it is due to drivers then? (I'll look up Markman's post as well.)

As for the Alpha itself: I haven't managed to play a game with it yet (but plan to try out USFIV, SFV and Skullgirls with it today), but just based on first impressions holding the stick so to speak, I think I'll be happy with it. All of its components including its case feel solid despite the light weight and size wise it's perfect for someone like me who has little room for storing stuff. I think it will be best to use it while supporting it with a table or something (for which it has special pads underneath to prevent slipping and sliding), though depending on your sitting position it might also work fine to just put in on your lap too. I'll probably post some more impressions later (but please keep in mind that my only experiences using sticks have been the NES Advantage and the official Dreamcast stick so far).

There's little or no distribution rights for Madcatz fightsticks here in Singapore from what I heard. Might be getting a Hori Pro V. Hayabusa for my first fightstick.

The Madcatz SFV sticks are direct input only. They're plug and play with any PC fighting game that supports direct input controllers, such as Street Fighter IV. Plenty of PC fighting games support direct input controllers. At launch the PC version of SFV will only support X-Input controllers, but Capcom has mentioned that they are working on a patch to allow Direct Input controllers in SFV on PC, and madcatz has mentioned that they are working on a patch or drivers to enable X-Input in their SFV sticks.

I can buy the SXT Fightstick Pro new for $90 USD. Is that a good deal?

Yes that's a perfect stick if you're just starting out. If you end up not liking the stick you can sell it fairly easily I'd bet.

Ive been using that stick since 2012/13, my joystick/spring is a little rough around the edges but can easily replace with a new joystick for cheap.

Ive upgraded to the Te2+ with custom mechanical buttons etc so I'm moving on and will be selling my SFxT stick soon.

Unless you can find a te or Te2 for a good deal I'd say hop on it.

I see. So it will work with emulated classic fighting games etc. then - assuming direct input equals what those older Saturn USB controllers have been supporting / using - but not yet with SFV until they patch in X-input support? I had no idea honestly, but thanks for the info.

Their official twitter also mentioned the following regarding their PS4 compatible sticks by the way, in April (2015): "@klabooe our PS4 sticks work with PC :)"

This tweet was mentioned here: http://gameidealist.com/news/mad-ca...d-ps3-arcade-fightstick-tournament-edition-2/

I'm actually not sure what I'm supposed to see in this image.

A few things have changed from the left to the right.
for one the L3/R3 are now tiny little black letters on black buttons not white outlines, the case itself isn't smooth but has a textured finish, all the buttons on the top panel look worse on the right one ect.

It's not a deal breaker and these things happen, I remember when amiibos were first announced they looked much nicer than what we ended up getting lol.. amiibo

It's just I was expecting the left one, which to me looks much nicer.

view the picture in it's full size not just the preview to get a better idea

Could your button issue be because they aren't high enough? Try replacing the plexi with one that has the buttons sit on top of it. That's what i'm doing.

The one on the left is a render, which is why it looks totally smooth instead of actually having any texture. Their actual product seems pretty accurate to me outside of the big L3/R3 pad printing on those buttons (though personally I prefer the look without that giant lettering).

The one without the rotating Dpad is much better than the DS4, OverDrives come out more often when playing GG Xrd, it also works great with KOF XIII. I hate the DS4 with passion and will never use it for fighters ever again.

Well I'm using DS4 analog to play but I'm not very good so... :p

Honestly, unless you have a preference for Sanwa parts or just like the form factor more I'd recommend the Hori over the Madcatz anyway.

Nothings wrong. Pic on the left is a professional pic with proper lighting and white balance. Pic on the right is some dude in his basement taking a pic with his cell phone.

Top one. I am going to get it this week as well.

From what I heard, the bottom one D-pad tends to break because of rotation. Plus, it looks like an abortion. I can understand the claw gameplay reasons, its how I used to play on PS1. But still, I could do that just as easily on Saturn.

Just tried out my Alpha stick for the first time with both USFIV and V on PS4. I have to say, other than being rusty on stick in general and liking its overall design still, I do get a slight feeling that some of the inputs don't come out as responsively as I would like.

Specifically all quarter circle motions to the left, like for Tatsu's when facing to the right, seem to work only half the times while similar motions to the right (for Hadokens and such) come out pretty much 100% of the time.

Again, maybe I'm just rusty (on that side of the controls) or have to get used to both games' input speed / buffer (or delay?) as well still, but knowing my luck, I might actually have received a slightly faulty stick...

I'll try it out some more later with Skullgirls as well and will report back. (Shame my PS3 died otherwise the best test for me in terms of move and input familiarity would be to play 3rd Strike OE...if moves would not come out immediately in that game, I'd be pretty certain something is off with the stick...)

So Madcatz FPP is crap, huh? A damn shame. I'm a pad player and now I'm lost...I guess I can go Hori, bUT I was looking forward to the analog option.

Just got my shipment confirmation from Amazon.com. Confirmed to ship and arrive Tuesday and they even refunded my 1 day shipping fee since it's considered release date delivery.

Anyone know off hand if those Saturn USB controllers that worked on PS3 will work on PS4 for SFV?

I'm going to guess the answer is yes, but they're going for close to $150 when you can find one on eBay. The versions you see on Amazon and elsewhere are knockoffs...avoid at all costs.

There's grease on his pad.

Let's just say it was because of his food that the dpad got stuck, it still happened after only 1 day.

Plus, people complaining about getting the wrong inputs also don't help. I really wanted it to be good, I'm a pad collector and I still felt the need to cancel my pre-order.

I'll either be using the new Hori pad or this baby with a Brook PS2 to PS4 converter:
