Madden [RENDERED] Next Gen is ON

What's the point of complaining or saying you're disappointed, it's not like you can actually buy another NFL game anyway? It's not like there will ever be another NFL game with better graphics or animation. They could release the next gen Madden with Genesis graphics and it would still probably sell a million copies. We should just probably be thankful that there is any improvement at all.

No one cares about SSX, NHL! NHL!

what are you insane? SSX series is the best EA series ever......while EA's NHL series is basically pinball on ice. EA NHL could have the best graphics ever and still be shit if the gameplay is the same.

Seconded. Though Tricky is my favorite SSX, if SSX4 is more like SSX3 I will be VERY dissapointed.

All I want to see from the Nike ad in Madden 360 is the glowing jersey after an awesome play by a superstar. It wouldn't be hard to pull off at all. It could be done this gen.

Honest opinion...nevermind the technical elements (high poly count, self shadowing, asstastic lighting effect around the silouette of the player), I think that the whole art DIRECTION is in the wrong direction if the designers are looking at nailing realistic looking visuals.

Then again, it's really hard to compare against realistic pics because very few games are played at night with that kind of weather.

There was no detail on the players...and I think that will be the biggest difference between the actual game and this "artist's rendition". The real version will have more detail.

That could be, the guy that wrote an artical on it said that the ingame graphics will be better, maybe he was talkin about the detail

I watched the commercial 3 more times on DVR and each time I liked it a little more. McNabb's throwing animation was horrible, and TO's dive looked like somebody dressed up a manquin and threw it off of a bridge. If that's corrected, I'd be very happy with the graphics if that's how they turn out.

What concerns me more is the play selection system that they showed. The menu system they showed had the plays sorted by "3rd and Long" rather than by formation. That seems like catering to the newbs, those of us who already know what plays to run on 3rd and long will want to select plays by formation. Hopefully you can customize the interface.

Oh I wouldn't worry about that at all. I'm sure there will be an option to call plays by either type or by formation.

The two biggest areas of concern are the player models and the animation. Animation wise, it looks no better than current gen football games. There were still awkward transitional animations where players looked robotic. Player models lack detail. For next-gen I was expecting more in the way of muscle definition, facial expression, etc.

I've just come to accept that this is merely a mockup and I have put my hope in the fact that it WILL look better (though how much better has not been revealed).

I hope EA focuses on getting Bill Parcells's likeness licensed for this year so they can render his front butt in stunning Xbox 360 glory. That's what should have been in the commercial.

Imagine.....
