Man of Steel - Official Trailer #2

I still want to get the Hot Toys Christopher Reeve figure but they put a giant seam on the back of the costume. Granted the cape will cover it most of the time, but it's a huge blemish on a toy that's supposed to be photo-accurate.

Most of them don't even have all of the props. Hopefully the specific retailer won't run out of exclusive Kryptonite medallions!

I'm breaking mine... I can't help it (but only for the movie Masters). At least I can use my nephew as an excuse lol

"I'm waiting for hottoys to show off their MoS range"

That's what I'm waiting for. I hope their Cavill Supes is as perfect as the Reeve one.

This movie is gonna break my bank account.

those hot toys figures are impressive, but got damn are they expensive. Never could bring myself to justify the money.

They'll probably release Jor-El first and then Superman given they've teased the former and probably learned from past lines that releasing b-tier characters after the big guy doesn't do as well, case in point being Odin.

I will agree though their Chris Reeve Superman is sublime. Wish I had the dough to pick him up as every shot I see of it shows just how impressive it is:

So... new trailer in two weeks.

( :,'

Maybe. Hopefully.

Warner Bros. CinemaCon presentation is then which they'll expectedly debut a new trailer with and/or finished scenes since it's their big "Summer preview and Beyond" show. So they could do what Disney is doing and debut the trailer after the presentation which would then mean it'll be attached with Oblivion or wait a couple of weeks and debut it with Iron Man 3.

Of course WB's movie 42 is released next Friday and they could debut a trailer with that, which if they do we'll probably find out this week when it gets classified. Other than that there's the MTV Movie Awards next weekend...

^^ I'm not into action figures, but that Chris Reeve's one is amazing!
Chris is still the iconic Superman (on film) to me. Is going to be difficult to top him.

Yea they are, but I couldn't help myself with the Reeve one. It's so impressive in person and the face is so life like... it's kinda freaky. I still have mine in it's box lol Hell the box itself it came in is awesome.

Simo, you're most likely right in regards to release. Plus I'm sure they want the extra time to really nail down Cavill's image like they did with Reeve.

Loving the designs for all the costumes. Really can't wait to see Zod on the big screen in that armor!

So I posted this over on SHH and mainly it was a discussion about when the next piece of marketing or trailer will hit and most think WB won't release anything until after Iron Man 3 or at least they'll attach a new trailer with IM3 but the week of April 14th to the 19th just seems right to me. It all started with the actress playing Supes birth mother, Lara, stating on her FB page the trailer was coming April 16th. Why April 16th? Well CinemaCon, formerly ShoWest, is going on that week in Vegas and on the 16th Warner Bros, is having their 2 hour presentation to showcase their summer slate and beyond with no doubt new footage/trailer for MOS.

So I was looking at stuff online last night and found an article talking about Superman's 75th Anniversary and then I see the date....Action Comics #1 was published on April 18th, 1938. Well then I remembered what Warner Bros. and Peter Jackson did to celebrate The Hobbit's 75th anniversary last year which was a week long celebration, or Tolkien Week, and debuted new stills and a trailer among other activities.

Could WB do the same thing? Possibly get the ball rolling at the MTV Movie Awards with something that Sunday the 14th and then roll out those much rumoured character posters throughout the week with new stills and then finally a trailer released online, say Wednesday, with the CinemaCon presentation and then having the trailer attached on the big screen and IMAX with Oblivion that Friday on the 19th? Could be the reason WB has been quiet regarding publicity for the film.

Then this morning CapedWonder.com, a reliable Superman fanpage dedicated to the Chris Reeve movies, posted this on their FB page...
My WB contact just watched the upcoming 3 minute 'Man of Steel' trailer. He is liking Henry Cavill more and more. Here's what he could share with me: "I saw the trailer projected in one of the big rooms with full 5.1 sound. The music was great, but may be specific to the trailer, I don’t know. It teases more of his childhood and his trying to hide from mankind, taking different jobs, etc. Also some General Zod shots. I’m sure you’ll see it soon."

"It's not an 'S'. Where I’m from it’s a symbol of hope."
is a line from the trailer.

I hope Michael Shannon kills it as Zod.

He seemed like he doesnt give a fuck about the character and universe in some early interviews - I hope this doesnt translate to a bored phoned-in performance.

I have only bought the Reeve Superman at full price. The few others I have I waited for ebay prices to drop.

Why would you need armor? Superman is in tights. zzz

Superman has spent most of his entire life soaking up the sun. The sun also effects different kryptonians differently so powers develop slower or in slightly different ways

Jor-El has an Assault Rifle, eh? They are trying to make this a realistic entry ? Those suits look like Batsuit on steroids.

The Kryptonians don't have powers on their home world (or most worlds). Makes sense that they'd have armor and weapons.

I love this line.

More stuff/canon from Birthright.

Give me this f-ing trailer! arghhh

Dude never phones in his performances, last thing I would worry about is Shannon.

Even if he does phone it in, he'll still be menacing. He just has that type of face lol.

I heard it has something to do with the sun/power stuff.
not sure about it but spoiler tagged it just in case.

Ok, well I'm glad Faora isn't in a metal bikini.

Returns suit is downright offensive to me now lols, cape is too small, S symbol is way small too, underwear above pants is silly in this times etc.

"Look, that was daunting," Zimmer confessed. "Seriously. He's the greatest film composer out there, without a doubt, and it happens to be one of his iconic pieces of music, so I spent three months just procrastinating and not even getting a start on the thing, because I was so intimidated: 'Oh my God, I'm following in John Williams' footsteps.'"

Zimmer. <3

from superherohype

lulz the source for that is CNN, who is owned by Time Warner the same parent company who owns Warner Bros, and they use a fan-manip in their article.

What.

Here's the original for reference:

Heres CNN's article too which is Zimmer talking about his work on the score, and yes they've since removed that image to replace it with the official still of Superman in handcuffs lol
http://edition.cnn.com/2013/04/05/showbiz/zimmer-man-of-steel/
Coming off three Dark Knight films directed by Christopher Nolan ("Batman Begins," "The Dark Knight," and "The Dark Knight Rises"), Zimmer also didn't want to do "another really dark" superhero movie. "Everything's tinged with irony and sarcasm and bitterness and darkness these days," he said. But this Superman is something lighter, he said, "celebrating everything that was good and fine about America," such as small towns "where people don't lock their doors, neighbors get together, and families are families."

"What was important for Superman was the simple fact that none of us pay much attention to the Midwest," Zimmer said. "I know America mainly by the big cities, but if you go into the Midwest, there is a people there and there is a country there. And I thought it was important that the decent folk, simple folk be the heart of the story, and a character who is guileless, who isn't complicated in the sort of flawed way our Dark Knight is, and isn't political in any way. He's just striving to become a better part of humanity."

Sounds dark, and possibly gritty.

Agreed. About to grit this shit right the fuck up.

lol at them using the spiked hair photo.

Can't wait to hear the score.

Yeah it's pretty fucking bad, but I imagine in the future someone is going to make an updated version of Reeves' Superman suit, and we'll all be laughing at how shiny and ugly Cavill's suit was in comparison.

realism heh. Can't wait for them to give a very logical scientific explanation on how Superman gained his powers...if he even has them in this movie. Hancock 2

What are you talking about?

The trailer had aliens, spaceships and cities blowing up. Do people think Supes has been nerfed because of Nolan or something? Thats idiotic.
