To be honest, without a consistent schedule outside of shounen manga, it's just harder to follow. Easier with licensed manga, of course, but it's completely random with unlicensed stuff. I also haven't found a good way to do some kind of update list without having to bite the bullet and go to Baka Updates.

Joking aside I don't hate GioGio, he's a alright MC not shit by any means. However his design is pretty out there including Part 5 cast compared to the earlier Parts. I wonder what was going through Araki's mind.

Fujoshi is still strong with Prince of Tennis.
That last arc felt super rushed though like she was told to just wrap it up already. Ramen guy comes out of nowhere that they hinted way back and it wasn't even a cool fight. Just because a manga gets extended past its natural concluding point doesn't mean the last arc doesn't mean the company can't tell them it's finally getting canned. A couple of weeks before the last chapter, there were rumors that it was getting axed anyways.
It could still probably just be really bad writing. Either way, those last set of chapters were really disappointing :/

Yeah, I can understand that. It doesn't help that a lot of the yuri stuff has rather hectic release schedules.

With that closure, I like Yui's character more than I initially did. It reminds me of how I felt with Haru when she was first introduced, but then grew to like the character more and more as they got chapters. It's just the knee-jerk reaction when they add to another one to the harem, but it worked. I still think the author has it when he's doing the non-comedic side of the series, I just wish he didn't have to drag it out so much.

Sunny volumes 1-2
After watching the Ping Pong anime (masterpiece) I decided to finally start reading the Sunny volumes I had laying around.
Since the beginning that sad and pathetic mood was set up pretty well.
The story follows the daily life of these kids and young boys/girls that have been abandoned by their families.
That feeling of abandon is conveyed really well: just by looking at how certain characters act and react, their inner turmoils, their insecurities, their love/hate for those mothers and fathers that discarded them easily come to light.
Despite the sadness and pathetic mood at the base, the story is able to lift up the reader's spirit, letting them forget that sadness for just a moment, exactly like those kids.
Volume 2 ends on a pretty sad note, with Haruo coming back from his 3 days stay with his mother. I found that to be one of the saddest moments of the two books. The feeling of rejection from the mother, telling her son to stop calling her mom but to call her by her name and buying him a ton of nivea, giving the impression he wouldn't have seen her ever again... and then seeing Haruo trying to play the good and understanding son because he wants to be accepted by his mother, he doesn't want to go back to the institute, yet once the train departs and he's getting away from his mother, his sadness, his internal hurting starts to be less oppressive and he gets to express that turmoil i nthe only way he's able to, acting like a little smartass bully.
The story feels realistic and it hits feelings in all sort of ways. I'll be waiting for the next volumes to come out here.
