King's Game: Origin 1- 8

Follows the typical death type game plot well with the suspense of an isolated village in the 1970's or so and some force at work killing off the villagers if they dont do what it says. The lead is really entertaining and one to relate too while surrounding by at least som good friends Yuuji. I have a feeling one of the femChars is responsible for whats going on at least and even more suspicious how they keep focusing in on one of the two (why so always over him so much) while the other love interest is too busy in the shadows and mysterious and comes from a line of witches.

The beheading needs explaining for there didn't seem to be any sharp objects...except the papers and I cant imagine how something like that would fully slice through her neck.

Banana Fish vol 1-2
I read the first volume long time ago and sorta dropped it, but now I really wanna go through this. It's classified as a shoujo manga, but it's essentially an action mystery manga about organized crime set in New York. So far the story just been concerned mostly with Ash and some of the tragic things he had to endure which surprisingly he is handling pretty well. Not sure if it's part of his character to create a strong barrier to hide how he feels which will be explored later or just bad writing, hopefully it's the former. The Banana FIsh drug subplot is pretty interesting so far although whatever explanation behind the mystery of the drug better be worth it cause so far there has been some considerable build up and this better not be an Urasawa-like disappointment when the reveal happens.

The whole plan in this 3rd level is going to fiery places, from from a man that breaks hearts to getting it mended by another to even cute Cerberus, its just fun and intense all around. The origin story was compelling and finally established why Cerebrus is so important in this present time. Hope everything comes together soon.

Actually skipped a bit around while reading this, but it wasn't too bad, apart from an art style that while to my liking, feels kinda out of place for the type of story.
It does work for those lesbian sex scenes though.
First volume ended right after Saki and Maria are done with their sexy time and the group is taking shelter in Squealer's colony.

The way Reiko is disposed of pissed me off.

Wow, she's 10. Welp, not like that stops most mangaka! Let's get this started, it's loli time!

Can't wait for the inevitable yaoi prison arc. :lol

RaButa
A light-hearted 4-panel manga about a fat school delinquent and a cute, shy girl. Kinda cute and the art is reminiscent of YOKO.

The Beauty and the Hambeast
A realistic and heavy story about a fat loser and a beautiful slut. It's a stark contrast to RaButa but also quite good.

Still baffling decision to take this story and make a porn adaptation out of it. It's mostly wasted talent that should be drawing doujins instead and it just clashes with the source material.

Magical Gunslinger Kurohime v1-5
Uh, so will this ever get not terribly boring? So far it's like a poor man's Trigun with super boring MCs and villains, uninspired fights, slap stick scenes which only use one shtick and no story to speak of.

I think those are her guns she's holding cause with how bad that art looks, it could be her legs and that raises a whole bunch of questions.

So...

I know this is part of the Anime thread but I guess it has some merit here

I know a lot of Toriko readers don't watch the anime (myself included) since it feels low budget, has no real violence compared to the manga and has extra random things/characters that are not canon... but apparently the anime is ending.
Currently they are in a PG version of the food tournament arc and are drastically changing the outcome of the battles

- An example being the Toriko vs Starjun battle

For me I say good riddance since the anime was awful especially later on... but sadly no Toriko anime may effect the series popularity

What on earth is she wearing? "My first bondage" gear? They adapted intellectual source material into this? Smh

I wouldn't call it porn, but I'm baffled more by the fact this was licensed and not the novel. Yeah, translating more words costs more and novels sell less, but still... I would have wanted the novel more.

Yuri only... :( Oh well still hot so will read.

I cant believe it left out the other compelling characters, Satoru and Shun :(

There very well might be some yaoi scenes. As I said I skipped around (because I already know the story from the anime, so it was just a look at certain parts more than the whole thing).

It more or less stays the same. You get more indepth reasons for Kurohime's fight against the Gods and why she's like that, more transformations, a romance plot and lots of fanservice.
For me it was an enjoyable read (strong, assholish female lead that's a beauty too), but I can see how it can feel boring.

It's basically a whole new story that occasionally touches on 'big' plot points. Basically it'll go from A to B, but everything in between is completely different with more sex.

Kurohime herself is quite ok actually but Zero is one boring and shoehorned MC, so far he's basically just a plot device for her transformations. Ah well, I'll a break from this and might come back later.

Oh god that whole manga was a troll. I suggest not wasting your time with it.

I read it from beginning to end. So much BS plot twists and Zero gets worse over time, especially later on when you find out the stupid crap going on in the background with certain characters.

It still baffles me at some of the choices the author makes near the end of the manga. At least the art is good and the weapons are nicely designed which is the only good things I can say about this series imo.

Huh, now I'm pending between outright dropping this or giving it the Air Gear treatment i.e. skimping through the pages.

Drop it and read something else that is good, it's not worth the time investment. Or you can do what I did and just jump to the last 3 volumes lol

Tama with her hair letdown > Chitose Ponytail > Tama Twintail.

Tama flashbacks with Pukey and Chitose/Roka were ace. The former two are quickly becoming faves.

Poor Takao. Hope she gets that princess carry in the future.

Least she helped Kazama out when he needed it and it was a cute to see her reaction to his remark.

Josei, shoujo ai, drama.
What a lovely piece this was. I personally like depressing atmospheres, so this was excellent for me. This is a story about self-abuse, self-identity, and love. The main character struggles with depression, low self-confidence, and suicidal tendencies, and seeing her growth is both sad and hopeful. The relationship between the two girls is very tasteful, and it serves as a backdrop for the development for them. Through their reliance, they recognize traits in themselves that are counter-balanced by their significant other. I really liked that stupid romance tropes were absent: you won't find a love triangle, misunderstandings, or unrealistic drama between the two.
Perhaps I'm just feeling melancholy, but this was a beautiful, short manga to finish my evening with (this was supposed to post 6 hours ago).
