This keep being one of the better shojo I'm reading at the moment. Between the silly facial expressions everyone makes (as shown up there), the way the interactions between the characters are handled and the whole idiocy of the premise it manages to stay fresh and funny while moving the plot forward, building the characters steadily and creating interesting situations.
I see that the scanlations have really picked up the pace since I last looked and are even getting close to the last volume. Given how the official release in Italy has been coming out slowly, resisting the urge to check scans is gonna be hard.

Though the agile titan with the unlimited dash core thing is pretty fun in its own way.

I don't actually understand Eizan's goal here. There was some kind of feud with Soma, but he's mostly helping him get farther so far. Perhaps he just wants to build up his reputation so he can have a Shokugeki with him with his Elite 10 seat on the line? Is there a prize involved in the tournament? I could validly see Soma actually getting on the E10 by beating him since he's literally the lowest ranked guy in the E10 who isn't Erina.

But in any case, Alice is about to get Worfed.

I'm just suspecting maybe he wants Soma to win so he can take it from him in a Shokugeki. If he just wanted him expelled, it would be a matter of just demanding it in a battle (which Soma wouldn't turn down.) Its also possible he just wants him to win so that his reputation will go up and then he'll try and force Soma to be his underling (which is supposedly his gimmick.) In any case, as long as we don't go back to "Soma gets expelled if he loses!" its fine.

Seems he's trying to gauge his abilities by pushing people he thinks are stronger than Soma and if they win against him he can act as Soma isn't worth his time plus fulfill his promise of crushing Soma's progress? Plus with his connections he might be trying to do it without getting his hands dirty (all of a sudden some random mook is in the finals and we know jack shit about him)

But we all know Soma is the MC so he's gonna have some plot armor to help with that.

At worst she'll get beaten in a fuzzy way that won't actually "prove" anything, similar to Hayama winning last time. It's still way too early in the manga to start drawing powerlevel lines.

About the dude, we don't actually know anything about his motivations or goals besides "that dude's kinda annoying" so who knows what's going on. But I agree that if the way to get into the E10 is by a shokugeki with one of them, he's going down. I'm also guessing whenever he does, it'll be after Erina passed him (or proved her superiority to him in a roundabout way).

We're still clueless about this whole scenario. Is this tournament to replace the graduating E10s? Is it going to involve unseating the current ones? Are there gonna be more than one in the tournament who can get in? How the hell did Erina get in before this tournament? Will there be more chances after this tournament aside from waiting a year? Is there even an equivalent tournament for the second years or is this the last chance (outside of E10s betting their status in a fight)?

Man I'm still waiting for Soma's Doujima to happen. If it ends up being Erina that would just be silly. Isshiki could do it though.

As far as I can tell, that is considered a valid way to get onto the Elite 10 (since Isshiki did sort of imply he could challenge him if he had adequate compensation), but obviously some of them just graduate, so I guess you get...appointed? (or they have a tournament?) Perhaps you can't simply "leapfrog" a particular person, either. I wouldn't be surprised that beating Seat 9 doesn't make you Seat 9, it makes you Seat 10 and Seat 9 just gets booted.

I don't think so, in terms of a second year tournament. All of the people we've seen in it are first years, so I don't think its an open event.

I'd like to read any of the nuances of the story the anime may have missed and if the mysteries are more complex in written form.

And if there's any romance :3
