You know, 7 Seeds would actually be a great collective reading experience. All those moments, those feelings ... I can't imagine what it must be like to read it with in a group. Just the flashbacks alone, man. Molester Man would look like a joke compared to it, and that was already pretty great.
It'd be interesting to say the least. 7 Seeds is the only manga to make me straight up cry like a man baby.

I actually do like Natsu quite a bit. Her developement is slow but when it does happen it is satisfying. Not everyone can be fearless pro-survivalists.
The only characters I can't stand are Ango and Ryo; they both feel like stock shoujo bad boys and everything they do feels pander-y as hell. They come complete with pseudo-homosexual relationships and everything. Every single scene involving them and Shigeru makes me roll my eyes so hard.
Every other Summer A character is better than them, even Nijiko.

It's not about whether she is a pro-survivalist or not (that would be more fitting when talking about Natsu), but it's really like Keasby said, she is really lucky. HUGE STORY SPOILERS:
She got in, because of her father, he trained her, everyone likes her, she can't do anything wrong, but when she does it's no biggie, everyone is going to protect her and when she gets Amaraki's dogs killed, it's almost shrugged off

More like he's a bit too perfect. E: I mean, we're talking about his companions for years, decades even. Not human being would react like that. Even if it's not her fault, there always a huge amount of (irrational) anger, because she caused it after all.

Fuck, I really should have been watching the Ayakashi arc that covered this story instead of reading the manga thinking it's different material. There were some interesting looking pages, but they just don't compare to the anime. I found the whole thing very confusing especially when most of the people had the same face, and I'm still not sure of the ending. However, the story was good enough so I will definitely watch the anime version of it, maybe things will be much clearer.

Now that's funny, because i put the manga on my list just yesterday. I saw Mononoke about two years ago, I think, and it's probably one of my favorite anime. The art style, the story and the setting were very appealing and I wondered how it would come over in the manga.
