Have you listened to Living Dead? It was recently added to the OP. It's the demo version that was leaked early last year. It is her best song lyrically and melodically, in my opinion.

just listened to it. Sounds like a mid-table eurovision song. I like the melody in the verse but the chorus doesn't deliver on that promise imo.

I thought the same thing after I heard it for the first time. After I came back to it though, I fell in love. It's definitely a grower.

I'll give it another chance in that case because I was initially cold on radioactive as well..now one of my favourites.

Exactly. My initial reaction to Radioactive was very "meh" as well. I still think Charli XCX made the superior song about nuclear love... But not by much.

Loved her first album and saw her live a bunch of times. She is also insanley gorgeous.
I kind of drifted away after awhile though but this is the first ive heard of her since the oh my god song came out.

She went abit nuts with "America" and everythign relating to it I feel.

What’s all this nonsense about I Am Not A Robot being rubbish? It’s bloody great. There’s been some brilliant remixes of it too – the Clock Opera one being particularly fantastic.

Really looking forward to Electra Heart. Homewrecker’s my favourite of the new tracks so far.

Her voice is flawless! She has great control over her voice. And so much emotion oozing out of this rendition.

I can't see it actually being a dubstep track. Maybe some elements of it but....

either way, excited for the studio version.

Not a huge fan of dubstep (IE. what we got in Hold It Against Me or the incredibly disappointing Gang Bang) but I cannot wait for Lies - it sounds delicious, at least based on what I've already heard.

I don't really like dubstep either, but Lies will be no more dubstep than Primadonna. People use the term dubstep to describe songs that are maybe "dubstep inspired" at most, and definitely don't fall into the dubstep genre. I guess you could call it dubstep lite, or dubstep for the masses.

It's so nice to see that other people listen to Marina, nobody I know IRL has ever heard of her or is willing to give her a chance, plus my wife can't stand her for some reason. Anyways I'm shocked at how amazing this album is sounding so far and mad props to the OP for keeping all this Marina Goodness in one easy to access place.

Question, I don't know if I can wait till July for this to drop anyone have any experience using a UK iTunes account is it doable in the US? or am I going to have to shell out the extra cash to import the physical disk?

Also are the listed bonus tracks only going to be available on the deluxe edition or via iTunes? I need me some radioactive

It's a pretty good track, and it isn't I Am Not A Robot levels of skippable, but it just doesn't grab me like other EH tracks have.

I just want Lies and the studio version of Living Dead :(

Marina was in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge yesterday and decided to cover "Boyfriend" by Justin Bieber.

There's now better quality clips of ALL 16 songs from the deluxe version.

Also, a shelved demo from Electra Heart has surfaced called Miss Y. I like it.

The finished version of Sex, Yeah is fucking brilliant. I was a bit thrown off after hearing the 15 second clip on Amazon because I thought that they completely changed it from the demo version. But then I realized that the demo version was actually missing a chorus. The chorus is great, and the music is more danceable.

edit: HQ demo version 2 of another Electra Heart reject (sadly, because it's one of her best songs), Scab & Plaster, has also surfaced today. Contains extra lyrics and a brand new instrumental.

Sooo... I've been listening to this video of Lies on youtube.


Now having heard the song on some soundcloud link, it seems the youtube one is higher pitched than the normal one..? Happens often with youtube videos, to fool the copyright censors.

However, I prefer the higher pitched Lies than the original one. Funny how that goes...

This will be good news to you then. That leak is NOT the final version of the song. If you listen to the clip on Amazon, there is an extra dancey synth in the chorus that is missing from the leak!

Yeah, her voice is in a higher pitch in that version. She kinda sounds like Rihanna's cousin. I find it kind of annoying seeing as how I love the deepness of M's voice.

Teen Idle took a couple listens to really grow on me, but I absolutely love it.

Also, throughout all this, Marina's writing stays really great. I thought it might take a nosedive with really simple stuff like Homewrecker and Primadonna, but Teen Idle, Power & Control, Living Dead, and Valley of the Dolls (and most of the rest of the album) are amazingly written. She's still got that brutal honesty from The Family Jewels, thankfully.

I think I'll do a track-by-track review or something tomorrow.
