I've heard plenty of people say, even a review somewhere, that Living Dead is the weakest. Everyone seems to vastly differing song preferences, besides Teen Idle which is pretty universally praised as the best.

And you'll be really happy to hear that Power & Control is going to be the next single!! It'll be out on July 9th! It's a decent choice as a summer song. Since there are no bad songs, she can't really go wrong with single choices. Except Homewrecker... That needs to remain an album title. But I think Bubblegum Bitch would've been a better 2nd single.

Ehhh... There's a video of Marina singing Starring Role on Koko Pop and the announcer says that she is singing her next single taken from Electra Heart. Maybe it was a misunderstanding... Cuz there are press-release looking article stating P&C as the next. Maybe she just changed her mind. *shrug*

I honestly have no idea which songs would do better on the charts. They are all great, sooooo, how do you choose? I think she should release Lonely Hearts Club as a single somewhere down the road... I just can't wait to see more videos from this era! Primadonna video is so well done, I have no doubt they will have a really cool video for Power & Control to match. Maybe some choreography??

I'd say Lies, Starring Role, Teen Idle and the first 30 seconds of State of Dreaming are my favorite parts of the album.

But pretty much all the tracks vary from okay to great.

I also echo the thought that Living Dead and Hypocrates are the weakest tracks on the album. Hypocrates is just all around too sappy and sweet for me. Living Dead could be good but I'm annoyed by the repetition of words: "living dead dead dead, only alive live live, when I pretend tend tend, that I have died died died".

Electra Heart is officially (sorta) on its way to debuting at #1 in the UK! I'm so happy for Marina!

Marina Diamandis, AKA Marina And The Diamonds, looks set to score her first Number 1 album on Sunday according to the Official Charts Company&#8217;s latest sales data.

The half Welsh / half Greek singer&#8217;s second album, Electra Heart, has a comfortable lead on its closest competitor &#8211; Lana Del Rey&#8217;s Born To Die (Number 2) - and looks set to topple Jack White from the summit of the Official Albums Chart.

She outsold all the other new albums for the week including Jack White, Norah Jones and Marilyn Manson!

Is this really not available for purchase from the US?

We'll have to wait 'til July. I'm thinking cuz she hasn't really done much promo in the US yet. If Electra Heart came out in the US the same time as in the UK, it wouldn't even crack the top 100. Marina is still relatively unknown over here.

Funny cuz Starring Role and Lies are somewhere near the bottom for me. I've always loved Living Dead, and they definitely perfected it in the final version. Loooove the lyrics and the way she sings it more than anything.

How idiotic can the music industry get? It's 2012. Complete albums are up for download on the Internet the instant they are released (if they don't get leaked sooner). Why in the world would they go out of their way to give people a reason to not pay for the music? I can understand a delayed physical release, but digital? It just doesn't make sense.

The Electra Heart campaign has been run extremely smoothly over the past few months, so I think there's probably a good reason for the gap... I'm just gonna have faith that they have something up their sleeves. Like TV and magazine articles and radio play in the US prior to release. She hasn't done practically anything the US just yet. I'd love to see her get a spot on SNL. With a number 1 album in the UK, I think she deserves it!

The fans have to resort to either paying way too much for a physical copy that'll take weeks to deliver, or downloading it illegally. But if they really are fans, I doubt they'll lose interest by the time July rolls around. I'll buy one for myself and probably a few more just to gift to friends I have that like Marina. It is a bit fucked up. I wish I could just give her my money now. lol

Born to Die and Electra Heart ARE the best albums of 2012 so far. And yet, the critics do not like either... What's the deal?

I'm so disappointed with this album. I actually had to stop listening it halfway through because I was getting tired.

It feels like the only song that's up to The Family Jewels' level is "Primadonna". Most of the rest feels like filler - not actually bad, but not particularly interesting either. I guess I like the lyrics in "Teen Idle", which seems to be a fan-favorite, but the song does absolutely nothing for me.

I was expecting to be blown away by this, but what I ended up with was an uninspired, diluted version of her debut album. Meh.

... And then I got to the Deluxe edition bonus tracks. Why the hell aren't these in the regular edition of the album? All four of them are better than any of the songs in the regular listing, with the exception of "Primadonna". "Buy the Stars" is amazing.

I don't understand Marina at all. But, yeah. I guess I'll just add "Primadonna", "Buy the Stars", "Sex Yeah", "Radioactive", and "Lonely Hearts Club" to my The Family Jewels playlist and be done with it.

The album reminds me of Chumbawamba's Tubthumper. Don't ask why. And I mean the deep tracks from that album, not Tubthumping.

Good stuff overall though. Primadonna still the standout hit though.

I would've liked to see "Lonely Hearts Club" replace "Homewrecker" on the standard edition. The others, while great songs, I think belong on the deluxe version. Only because I couldn't see any other songs from the standard edition not being there. I guess it couldn't hurt if Sex Yeah was just ADDED to the tracklisting.

I would actually LOVE to see her fuck with the tracklisting a bit for the American version. Something like this:

Yes. It took me at least 5 listens to truly appreciate Teen Idle. But some reviewers are calling the song horrible, so maybe it's just not your cup of tea.

so i gave electra heart a break for a bit and this week i came back to it.

damn, what a fucking great album.

now that i've been away from it for a bit, the tracklist bothers me a lot lot less. lies > homewrecker > starring role > state of dreaming is great. primadonna is still a bit worn out to me, but those 4 go great together. hypocrates is almost starting to grow on me. ew!

Yeah, it's pretty fucking dumb. Noel did it for his most release last year but it was a few week delay and it was done so that he could do a press tour/some warmup gigs/etc. in the UK and then do them in the US as well when it actually came out. I get the concept but it really doesn't work very well.. entertainment is a global thing now due to the proliferation of Twitter and Facebook and people talking about things with others on a worldwide scale.

A few weeks is arguably acceptable but months is just asinine and absurd. I did listen to part of the album and really liked what I heard.. my fiancee is loving it. I pretty much only listen to stuff via rdio streaming these days though so I won't really get into this for another 2 months. Bubblegum Bitch was kind of meh to me but Primadonna is an absolute jam.
