That's the strategy I use. Hell, if you play like me, you use that strategy on every character!
I use four major strategies with Skrull:
1) Random Meteor Smash spam.
2) Use my above average yomi skills for Elastic Slam.
3) Orbital Grudge if opponent tries to rush me.
4) Jump, air dash, charge j.S cross-up.
I'm always looking for air throws too - love air throws with Skrull.
If you just do Meteor Smash, X Factor, command grab... it catches anyone off guard.
It's not even off-guard, it's pretty much unstoppable. Meteor Smash is -21 on block, Elastic Slam is 21 frames startup - they pretty much can't stop it unless they are looking for it and throw you out.
I'm gonna actually try and get my ass to Evo for sure next year and compete.
Just gotta figure out transportation stuff. D:
Just don't get in a fight!
The hitstun decay is terrible for her and her launcher is so bad that I don't think it's possible to use a gong combo midscreen unless you've got XF activated.
I'm no expert on Hsien-ko, but I can't do them mid-screen, and I've never seen them done.
I do feel bad for folks like Dormammu if they don't have proper DHC and THC partners. They should let us assign what hypers we want for characters prematch as an option. That'd be interesting lol.
Well, he's really meant to be in second order. Dormammu's best DHCs are characters like Wolverine, C. Viper, and Spider-man. You can DHC from any of these guys to Stalking Flare, and it bounces your opponent perfectly enough for Dormammu to get 3 Dark spells charged. Basically, use the time to charge 1D2C (meteor shower), which gives you enough time to charge 2 Dark Spells every time you use it, and Dormammu comes in with a ton of screen control and potential for building meter.
Aside from other beamers, the only really good THC for Dormammu is Million Dollars, because it takes so long to complete that Dormammu recovers from Chaotic Flame with enough time to Mass Change next to his opponent and combo off of Million Dollars.
If anything, Dormammu's biggest shortcoming in terms of DHCs is that he's not very good at punishing assists. Yes, Chaotic Flame comes out very fast, but it doesn't reach past full-screen, and it pushes opponents past that mark. So if you catch an assist with Shinkuu Hadoken and then DHC into Chaotic Flame, Chaotic Flame will whiff. Similarly, Chaotic Flame (XFC) Chaotic Flame will whiff unless you cancel it very early, or if your opponent is in a corner.
After 6 months of playing, I've finally come to accept that Dormammu should just plain not be used on point, and I'm much more satisfied when using him.
does doctor strange teleport in the comics?
Yes. Basically, if you can think of it Dr. Strange can do it. He's like a "good" version of Dormammu. He has so many powers Capcom can make him do whatever the heck they want.
He can even turn people into objects.
