Alright folks, the game was fun for a week but Ive now reached the point where Im watching a movie of people comboing me and Im just about done with the game.

I had but but watching myself getting comboed for half a match isnt fun. Gonna return the game for now, Ill pick it up if Capcom ever does a game+DLC bundle for cheap down the road.

Ask me about the moon landing or the temperature at which jet fuel burns. You may be surprised at what you learn.

Doesn't help much. People have some nasty setups with Zero/Spidey/Gamora/Ultron and those lil fuckers move too quick.

That stuff isnt good for my blood pressure. I was having fun with low level people like myself but I reached the intermediate point where people do double the damage I do in combos.

It was fun while it lasted, fantastic gameplay.

Long combos are fun. /s. If a combo takes more than 5 seconds, barring cinematics, it ceases to qualify as a combo, and instead becomes an exhibition.

Ain't nobody got time for quarter circle jerk porn.

In case anyone doesnt know combo scaling is dependent on whether you start with a light or heavy, a heavy start will give you much more damage. It also affects the hit stun.

Also I think I might have played Marn on PS4 last night. Username was MarnHQ I believe.

He was 15th rank but he styled hard on me with Dante and someone else. I got whooped so hard by Dante I forgot who the second character was.

welcome to marvel

Death comes for vs all, Soji Seta.

It seemed to come a lot faster in MvC in the past.

MvC:I ToDs are like a Master's Course in foreplay.

If you are getting bopped when you counter switch, it's time to figure out a better time to switch out or what to do when you switch out. And why would marn kick around 15th rank? Weird of him to smurf.

I don't even blame you honestly. This is the only fighting where I actually get pissed off. Characters like Dante and Jedah can go fuck themselves. It sucks getting touched by Dante and watching yourself get comboed for a good 15 seconds. It just take one single fuckup for that to happen and it sucks. I know I just have to learn how to deal with it but I can't help just getting mad. I HOPE WE NEVER GET A DMC5!

That last part is a dirty lie but fuck Dante.

JACKPOT. I WIN AGAIN.

Low level players are a great way to experiment with your mixups. =)

Edit:^id think higher level ones would be better since you could find the flaws a lot quicker than a dude willing to take it

MVC is hold dat the game. But man it makes you play perfectly in response. And there are a ton of defensive options. As much as I like sfv that shit is sorely missed therr

Obviously I could lab it up for hours on end for my own ToD combos or practice some nasty setups but I got other games to play.

Just my noob opinion but I think this game's too combo heavy, just like MvC3. I like combos in fighters but not the "put the controller down for 15 seconds and watch" combos.

All MvC games are like this.

I dont remember MvC1 and MvC2 being this combo heavy but I used to play those in the Arcades with locals mostly.

Do you think it's more so because you're just sour about the game in general?

MVC1 was definitely combo heavy, but like you said, you mostly played with locals. That game had uncombos.

1 and 2 were pretty nuts at high level. And like someone else said, characters died way faster. I played the first games with locals and destroyed people... Then when I got older and played people who had learned legit combos I got bopped lol. It's all part of the learning process. Learn from losses to become a better player. Defense is key in this game.

I'm not really sour about the game. Its not the game its me, its time for me to step up and learn actual non day 0 combos. Despite all my negativity prelaunch, I really ended up enjoying MvC:I gameplay wise, it feels like the best playing MvC yet. Total blast to play. Characters are a lot of fun, even the returning ones.

Ive just hit the brick wall where I need to step my game up to avoid getting demolished and I dont want to invest that time when I have a backlog to get through.

That's understandable. Oh, well. At least you enjoyed it.

Gaf brehs, are ya'll going the Character Pass route? Or individual?

I was thinking of individual, but it would be cheaper with the CP. Not sure what I wanna do right now, tbh.

Most likely individual unless I find I want to play at least 3 or 4 of the DLC chars. I’m definitely interested in all of them except for Black Widow, but even if she’s fun to play I’m down.

Individual can't stand the capcom side minus x zero and sigma.

but i was told this game was ugliest thing ever made

(granted being able to disable CA and pump up the IQ helps)

These are nice.
Especially the one's that are just touched up in-game shots. Like damn.

This definitely shows that it's more of what they did in game than the graphics itself. Or at least on a larger scale than we though.

These are all in-game graphics..

Those shots on DeadEndThrills are great. Yeah they're touched up and such. But a lot of them aren't even done so much. Like they're practically just the game on Super High with a different camera angle. Capcom should've been doing more stuff like this when early talk of the game was ugly was starting to get far across. Along with perhaps adding some of these filters to the game itself rather than cranking Chromatic Aberration like it'd fix all the faults.

I mean yeah that's what I mean. No CA and High IQ does wonders here.

DET is a talented person. Nobody in the actual industry takes screenshots like him.

Capcom's problem is that they marketed this game with story mode, which is beyond salvation no matter what shots they use.

Yeah. While I like that as a feature.
In this case after playing it. I'd have dropped it so fast to improve everything else.

Capcom will be showing off new MvCI and SFV content next week at NYCC.
Here's hoping that by "latest content" they don't mean let's just repeat the Monster Hunter trailer.

It's amazing what some camera hacks, IQ boost and DoF will do for a screenshot.
Which one is it now?
Probably the new one? What kind of "gotcha!" is this? Ryce had a (pessimistic) prediction and then he posts a news story that may or may not contradict his older prediction.

Great! Sigma and Zeku footage, maybe?

Doesn't actually say they'll show anything new. Just the "latest content". Which could very well just be MonHun footage. Given the way things have been handled so far...

Heck they could show off Menat for SFV and they still wouldn't have lied. :p
