Has anyone else noticed that in some of the set pieces the enemies don't stop spawning until you advance to a certain area?

Really? I tried and didn't get it. Guess I made the wrong choices.

That'll be useful for the playthrough with my final choices then, wanted to use the Paragon choice to get everyone's loyalty.

It was an option for me at the end of his mission. I saved the miners, and he flipped out when his enemy got away. The piller fell on his leg and I was able to paragon talk him into getting over his shit and doing things my way. The squad status screen says he is loyal.

awe man...
one of my "hoes" kelly is dead....wtf bioware....

anyways...bout to finish this game...to those who have finished this game....all the upgrades that you get through probing for platinum and element zero etc.....you keep those when you do a new game+ correct? I don't have to re-probe all this shit again do I? cause if so...then [Jack voice]: "Fuck that."

Ditto. I wonder if I get XP for killing indefinitely. I tried that for a while during a side-mission, but when it was over it said I only gained 125 xp : /

It goes away a little after you
meet her on horizon and she tells you how pissed she is about you joining cerberus

im joker

That was such a great segment
when you're controlling Joker during the Collector attack on the Normandy.

So creepy watching the place you've called home for 25 hours being invaded by giant bugs. It's also very eerie afterwards making your way through the Normandy with no one there... not seeing Kelly at her post, or the guys in the mess hall making fun of the cooking.

I know. lol. I caught it after my double post. Was supposed to be this.

So has anyone else noticed that after you beat the game
you can call your love interest into your cabin?
I thought it was a nice touch and made things seem like they actually mean something this time around.

IIRC, you keep them, yes. Dunno for sure, went with a different character for the 2nd time through.

If you romanced someone in ME1, then romance someone in ME2, you turn the LI from ME1's picture facedown.

Really? I tried talking to Miranda afterwards, and she said the whole "I'll come around when it's quiet" line again.

You have to do it from your cabin. It's on the desk by your private terminal. You'll see it.

Man just beat the and holy shit the last hour or so of the game is fucking epic. One question though
Why were the Collectors building a human reaper?
.

Whatever race used to feed it is what it resembles iirc.

the whole sequence was awesome and funny ("shit shit shit.....what the shit" ahh joker cracks me up) until the end...then it was kinda sad...and yea...I agree completely about the eerie-ness afterwards

thanks...if you had to redo all that shit on a newgame+....ugh...would have been a horrible design decision.

So new reapers are built from genetic material of other races? Does that mean there are Prothean reapers? One other thing that bothered me was that I gained Samara's loyalty but she still died in the end. Are their other factors besides loyalty that decide whether they live or die?

Something I forgot to mention.

Poor Kelly, that bitch melted.

Something similar happened to me, Mordin died at the end and I had his loyalty. I didn't send him on any of the missions, I guess he died while the big group was guarding my back at the very end. As Shepard and Co. were escaping the place, Shepard called Joker and Joker said that they had received all the survivors, then it quickly flashed to an image of Mordin's corpse. Crazy stuff. Replayed it and had him in my party for the final battle and he lived.

is there any way to tell if you missed any side quests? I've done all I can find but I don't want to miss any!

If all the galaxies are at 100% and you'd done all the N7 "anomaly" quests, then you have those covered.

The only way to be sure you've done all the planetary sidequests is to be thorough or have a guide.

I guess it depends what mission you send them on. I sent Mordin to escort the crew and he survived.

Ah that sucks. Ran into 1 in the
Archangel mission where it seemed enemies kept respawning until you shut that door (found it rather challenging to get to that side of the room to close it when you got a warehouse full of goons and more keep coming in if you aren't fast)
. Really was hoping that was the only segment of infinite respawn; only frustrating part of the game in my 10 hours or so of play.

No. There are no prothean reapers because they didn't or couldn't use them to make one. So protheans became collectors.

Alright I had
Legion, Thane, and Mordin
bite the dust on the last mission. Somebody care to explain what I did wrong? Here's who I chose
for the roles
:
Legion for the specialist
Zaeed for the first strike team
Jack for the biotic field
Garrus for escort
Thane for second strike team (they said a diversion so that's why I chose him)
Mordin was just dead for no reason when the mission was over
I rolled with Miranda and Grunt and I had everyone loyal also.

Did anybody else laugh when
Shepard was trying to get Legion's name? Shep: "What do I call you?" Legion: "Geth". Shep: "No, what do I call you as an individual?" Legion: "Geth".
:lol

Mordin's loyalty mission was excellent. It did a great job fleshing out an already interesting character. So far, I definitely feel like he's the best new character in Mass Effect 2, although I haven't recruited everyone yet.

Jack's was pretty good as well.
You know things are messed up when you take Zaeed along and he's talking about how messed up it all is. I felt like Jack was fleshed out really well by seeing all of the elements of her past from a different perspective.

So how do you romance Kelly? I talked to her after every mission but it didn't go anywhere.

You can't, she'll only dance for you but not actually fuck. There'll be an option in your cabin to call her up after the game ends.
You have to make sure she doesn't die at the collector base by going there immediately after the crew gets captured though

Did anyone find out which was the real observer on Illium?

I'm having a hard time importing my character from ME1 to ME2. I even booted ME from my last save to fight the last fight and went through the credits thinking that would help and I still get nothing appearing on ME2.

Any help?

None of them, there was an option for this

Level 28, need 95 EXP to turn 29.

I did everything except go through the relay, do you get EXP after that?

Wow that "set core affinity to 1 then back to 2 immediately" trick really works on the PC version. Just went from the Normandy taking 40 sec+ to load to under 5 seconds. :D

Kinda curious why switching the core affinity for a second fixes the problem but I'm very grateful there's such an easy solution to fix it.

Unless I missed it in this massive thread, but I dont recall anyone mentioning the photo frame on your desk in the commanders quarters?

It is the little things that is amazing about Mass Effect 2. If you are not sure what I am talking about, in your quarters on the Normandy, there is a picture frame in-between the computer that shows achievements (another little neat things) and the personal computer that has your messages.

Depending on who you romanced in ME1, it displays the picture of the person in a photo frame. I thought that was very cool and indeed neat that they added something so subtle, yet says alot about the love they have for the ME universe.

And for those that do not have an import character or if you did not do the romance sub-plot in the first game, there is nothing on the desk, not even an empty picture frame. Again, something that those that did not play the first would not notice that it was ever there or those that did play ME1 and did not romance someone.

There are so many little things like that sprinkled around the game. So who is in your picture frame or do you even have a picture frame at all?

is ME1 and ME2 okay for rpg noobs like me?

You will be fine. ME1 had more RPG type elements, a massive inventory system, ability to add special items to your armor guns etc. ME2 streamlines these things. Out of the 2, ME2 would be the more friendly for a new person to RPGS, but honestly, ME1 is pretty easy to get into as well.

Both are great games and ME1 was one of my all time favourite games, have not beat ME2, but so far it is great.

Well I just finished it

I finished it up with Zaeed and Jacob dead, I'm a happy man cause they were the two characters I hated the most. So I got all of the rest of my crew ready for Mass Effect 3, So awesome. By the way, did anybody finish the game and got in some way their Sheperd dead ?

Thanks Bioware. You got my vote for 2010 GOTY. Made the right call to buy an elite for 239$ CDN.

so awesome. Will replay when I'm done with my personal work(aka. animations)

did every misson (loyalty/scanning/return items etc)up to going through the omega 4 relay...im like 1% or 2% from 100% paragon...its like a tiny sliver.
Miranda is the only one i dont have loyalty for after losing it FML
. we'll see how this goes :lol

Question: I'm at the point where
I can go get the FTL Drive (I think it's called that?), but I'm getting all my crew members and loyalty missions finished first. Is it possible to entirely miss Legion? I don't want to get the drive (dunno if it's the point-of-no-return... point) if I'm missing out on something significant.

I was under the impression that if you lose loyalty after completing a loyalty mission, you just needed to use your paragon conversation skills to bring it back up. If not, really seems like a pain to keep everyone loyal for the final mission. But I guess it is supposed to be difficult.
