Im disappointed in you, Zeliard. Locke woulda scoured the galaxy for those charts!

I know, but Im asking if these areas just have planets to scan, or if they have any planets with sidequests on them.

They have sidequests in them.

It's just like four charts, though. In the whole game. The emptiness of the shops and how they rarely if ever restock is probably going to be filled with DLC, I guess.

I bet it'll involve the Hammerhead DLC

Planets with side quests and to scan.

Illium was also the last place I went to in my game since I just recruited Samara (who I should have probably gotten sooner). Missed those damn star charts, though.

So I'm an infiltrator and I love using the sniper rifle and incinerate.

But I rarely touch cloaking, should I use it more? How do I make it most effective?

I only used it when I was facing certain death so I could make it safely to cover, or to sprint behind some asshole shooting at my guys and melee him to death.

It becomes really effective when you upgrade all the way to assassination cloak. It allows you to get a headshot more easily because enemies won't duck into cover just from seeing you. The damage bonus is significant later on, and sometimes I'll use it to break through barriers and shields even though it's not the most efficient.

I think the longer duration can actually hurt, because you can't regenerate health during the cloak. However, you can use it to find a safe spot to heal.

Occasionally I used it to get more damage on a single shot, or to get an enemy to stop focusing on me, but it's not that useful.

They made it seem like you'd be sneaking behind enemy lines or something, but in reality that's completely impractical.

Really? You can get a massive damage bonus for sniping while cloaked
(Assassin's Cloak or something)
. That coupled with the +10% headshot visor and fully upgraded Disruptor ammo, I can take out a
Scion
or a
Harbinger
in a single round of attacks on Veteran. Overload + Concussive Shot + Cloaked snipe = good night!

Also, cloak is a really good way of pulling your ass out of the fire. Enemies stop firing at you instantly. It's quicker than healing.

I wish there were more times when it'd be more practical to flank. In certain battles I've been able to stick my two teammates on one side of the level, as I go around the back, but many of the encounters are designed to make that difficult or impossible.

The ones in Illiam involved
busting a kiosk owner for having illegal merchandise
. I'm guessing that if I warned her instead of turning her in I would have gotten a discount?

You can paragon her into giving you a discount, then screw her over in the same conversation. :lol That's what I did.

I just turned to level 27 and I'm pretty sure I didn't get a squad point? Am I just mistaken or at a certain point do I stop getting squad points? I've also noticed that my squad mates stopped getting points a few levels ago. They are all loyal so I don't know what the deal is.

I don't have the same drive to finish my second playthrough as I did in the first Mass Effect. Maybe because it's a longer game? Maybe because I have a job, school, and other shit going on now?

I dunno. But it's depressing. :(

I thought I'd scoured Illium. Wtf. Are they just at one of the shops?

Special shop. Kiosk next to the racist asari.

Bioware decided that the shitty declining-points levelling system in the first game wasn't shitty enough, so they implemented one in this game where your squadmates' best abilities aren't unlocked upfront, you have no idea when they'll suddenly just stop getting more points forever, and there's no way to respec your squadmates, thereby ensuring that almost everyone winds up specced badly unless you metagame and read up on it beforehand~

How far away to you need to be to safely use the cain? I've died every time I've tried to fire it, and the last time the target was a country mile away from me.

It shouldn't even kill you unless your shield's fully depleted. Tested it by firing at my foot on insanity and the most it did was fully deplete my shield and take out a sliver of health.

The point system they came up with is horrible. I ended my first game with points I couldn't spend on anything because I didn't have enough.

Complainers can say what they will about not liking the small increases in skill proficiencies from ME1, at least you could always spend the points you earned.

Just one more step backwards.

Really that's just an illusion. A lot of the abilities in the game are doing several things at once, they could have easily increased the number of skills you could put points into and how many levels per skill there are.

Cloak seemed really situational to me, though I didn't get it up to the final level.

Its just like the assassination power-up in the original. I never use it to 'sneak' or anything. Just activate it whenever you can to get the damage bonus on the sniper shot.

And the only bad part about the new stat system is that you cant rebuild squadmates if you fuck that up. You can rebuild your own, so theres no problem there, and unlike the bloated mess that Mass Effect's stat system was I feel every increase is a reward.

i only used it once on a vehichle :lol i was like ummm wtf......BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM ooooh lol

shoot it from behind cover

OMG that was so awesome. Ending was short but great. Nice cliffhanger.
Everyone lived,
and I felt I made the right decisions regarding
Cerberus and the Collector base
. I was disappointed that there wasn't more storytelling throughout the game, but I'll give it a break because it was such a well-done game with one of the greatest finales of all time. I'll just sort of look at it as the installment where you go around learning more about the actual universe, the politics, cultures, and so on.

Pretty amazing game. Would give it a 9.5 or something, as mentioned the lack of overall storytelling aside from the intro and conclusion keeps it from being perfect, but otherwise it rocked my world.

Now that I'm almost finished with ME2, the lack of exploration on uncharted worlds with the Mako is starting to feel like a serious loss. Just look at how goddam cool it was in ME1:

OK so I'm fucking trying to max out on Paragon and shit, at one point I got like 15 points followed by 7. I thought I would have maxed out by now but it barely moved, I'm just barely over the last square.

Any Help and suggestions?

Have you maxed out your specialist stats? You'll get a huge boost to your Paragon/Renegade meter when you do.

So that means either A: Everyone here is a fanfic fanatic or B: You're just a bit slow.

Hint:
It's not A.

In regards to saving the team achievement,
no one died on my team except that Kelly girl. And I didn't have one upgrade to the ship. But no one died on my team
so why can't didnt the achievement unlock?

EDIT: Nevermind, just did so.

Wait,
I have to upgrade my ship so no one would die? I know you need loyalty for you teammates to survive but I didn't about this.

okay fuck it, here's my ME2 comparison to ME1:

+way better framerate, better graphics
+characters are more interesting
+better inventory: armor, weapons, upgrades etc.
+armor color customization
+varied missions
+varied combat
+Collectors are cool as hell and fun to fight
+reunited with all ME1 characters
+Normandy is cooler

-less interesting plot
-lack of elevator loading
-not enough hacking minigames (only 2? wtf?)
-no vehicle
-no exploration
-no mission in our own solar system (like the Luna mission)
-more linear
-sex scenes are not very fun (besides Miranda in a bra)
-no FemShep lesbianism
