It's his loyalty quest. Zaeer doesn't have a recruitment quest. You literally just go to Omega and he's near the entrance, and he's like "sup bitches, Illusion Man hired me".

The character kind of seems shortchanged relative to the others, unfortunately. He's great, and I've been using him ever since I got him, but he has no recruitment quest like most of the others and you also can't engage in any dialogue with him on the ship (or much of anywhere else after you do his loyalty quest).

That hurts his character development a lot, especially when you look at how deeply you can delve into the backstories of your other crew members. There's a lot of potentially interesting stuff they could have done with Zaeer. Guess they ran out of time.
That's disappointing, especially since I had hopes of a Shale-quality character.

You could try ATI Tray Tools - version 1.6.9.1464 is the newest. It may be worth trying.

Is it compatible with Windows 7?

Edit: I tried installing it and it just says it won't run because it's an unsigned driver. Hmm.

Well I thought Kelly and I had something going but now I find out she wants to fuck
Garrus
. I want this crazy bitch off my ship before she wakes me up in my cabin with tentacle porn videos. If it were up to me I'd blow her out of the goddamn air lock and nuke her from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

She's such a tease. She has the hots for both Garrus and my female Shepard.

Beat the game already:

+ Controls are MUCH better than ME1
+ More variety in environments
+ No inventory annoyances
+ More character background/less filler
+ "Go for the optics, go for the optics!" :lol

-/+ Lack of Mako: actual use in ME1 sucked, but exploration factor was fun
-/+ Ammo system: I've never run out of ammo, but I can see why people like the ammo system from ME1

- Overarching story was not as good as ME1: no "OMG" moment like the conversation with Sovereign
- Lack of equipment
- Mission Complete Screen
- No XP per kill
- 90% of skills are useless until defenses are stripped. What is this, a Baldurs Gate 2 mage battle?

non spoiler impressions for the first hour or so:

On the game:
Amazing. What a way to start the sequel.
I don't know how often ME2 will reference choices made in part 1, but it did irritate me that none of my choices were reflected because i played with a new character(beat part 1 on 360, playing ME2 on PC). It irked me enough that I've downloaded a save that matched the closest to my playthrough on my 360 char, I'll be trying that out later today. Other than that, just a tad disappointed at the graphics a bit. Character armor looks a bit dated but the faces look great. Wish the hair looked less than a glued on helmet though. Voice acting so far I like better than the original, especially Miranda. One thing I liked about part 1 was that I never had to worry about running out of ammo, but I guess I'll have to keep an eye out for it in this sequel.

Cerebus Network:
Didn't know I had to have an EA account to log on to the cerebus network and I hate it. This stuff should really be transparent. Not worried about the bonus content for now, so I won't even bother with this section until later.

On the Prima Guide Book:
This guide book looks a bit smaller than the ME1 guide, I hope it's not because of less content but because it's better organized. I haven't really looked at the pages other than the initial character stats because I don't want to be spoiled by mistake.

Should be easy but people (including myself) have experienced issues...

By paramour i assume you mean paragon? When you import, you'll be given a number of paragon/renegade points to start with -- this will make it easier to choose paragon/renegade options... it's not black and white though, you can do both. Towards the end of ME2, I had an almost full paragon bar and a 50%+ full renegade bar.

Thanks! And yeah, Paragon.....I obviously haven't played ME1 in a long time :lol

Do any of the weapons import too?

Has anyone done the anomaly with the MSV Estevanico
It's the one with the crashed freighter and you have to run around the crashed ship while it's teetering on a cliff.
I'm pretty sure I know where to go but Shepard can't fucking drop down 2 inches on to a smaller piece of wreckage. I've looked all around and this seems to be the only way to go.
Am I missing something, it's getting very annoying.

EDIT: nvm figured it out.
You have to shoot the loose tiles. Don't know why I didn't see that before

Will drop pants for Sony.

Just check my C.E packaging again and there is definitely no ME Redemption #1 comic book included? (Bought from GameStop)

It should be with the artbook in the cerberus case.

There's a piece you have to shoot and make fall to advance... it's kinda swaying and a distinct piece of metal.

Oh man, did they really have to do that to Garrus? Hey scars are scars and I can deal with that, but it just looks like half his face is gone.

I hope they start the preload soon in Europe, otherwise the download tomorrow is going to be terrible.

Also, going by the storepage the game unlocks at 5am on Friday. Stupid.

When you're an Astrophysicist you really can't look at this game as anything to be immersed in... hell they can't even get Kepler's laws of elliptical motion incoorporated correctly... every planet's orbit is a circle, they all rotate at the same angle... there isn't a single binary star system to explore...

If I were to look at the game as you do I'd pick-apart every dam aspect of it... I know I'm playing a video-game and that's fine with me.
Hah, the truth is I do pick apart every aspect of a video game :lol . Truth is that I've always wanted to be involved in video game design (not to mention I've done Human-Computer Interaction design in the real world), so I am always obsessing over design choices that game designers make.

So.. If I start a new game without a imported save the game will just make the ME1 story choices for me? There's like no flashback scene where you can choose what choices you want to make?

Don't get your hopes up too high. It's a pretty disappointing encounter, at least so far.

I agree with this, although I don't know if the intention was to make it so. I can understand if they want to make your encounters with your crew 2 years later seem stressful, but it felt during my playthrough that they almost went out of their way to make me dislike Liara.

First Assassin's Creed 2 now Mass Effect 2. Two of my favorite games of recent memory. I'm pretty proud of Canadian developers right about now!
Same but I'm ashamed of their exclusive DLC choices (as far as I know, if you are in Canada theres no way to have every single piece of DLC that has been released for either game; AC2 had some exclusive tombs for US retailers; ME2 has some exclusive DLC which are redeemed through codes on American Dr. Pepper bottle caps)

Dammit! Just finished my ME 1 playthrough on the PC and missed level 50 by 7k exp. I hope I still get something for that!

Correct. I was under the impression that they were going to allow for some of the major choices to be made, but they pick preset choices for everything. Definitely a perk of importing.

You can enable his helmet graphic right (the one in his first cut scene where he was sniping was sick)? I honestly don't know but I agree his face looks gross.

Ok, I was planning on re-playing Mass Effect 1 anyway.

I do not avoid women, GAF, but I do deny them my essence.
Yeah, the mission complete screen is completely tacky. So out of place.

So are those stupid messages informing you of your progress on meaningless statistics.

I want to be immersed in a story. I honestly don't give a shit about how many things I've hacked, or how many heads I've shot. So dumb.

edit: I hate what they've done to the game with this stuff. It really hinders the game's direction imo. It becomes less about being an awesomely presented space opera, and becomes just another game. It feels regressive.

Think it was a joke reference to Garrus' face being so messed up on the PC version of Mass Effect?

Well.. this is weird. I'm almost completely sure I deleted all my ME1 saves (don't remember why) but apparantly ME2 still found my completed save from like 3 years ago. It has all the choices I want. But... with the imported save, can I still change my appearance and class?

I have only ever owned a Sony console for my entire gaming life... 15 years... i really think this game might make it a console seller for me. Is it really easy to just pick up and play and not have to play the previous games ? Really on the fence here and moreso than any other game has it pushed me to get a backup console.

Yes. The game does a great job at bringing you up to speed. All codex entries from the last game are included, if you want to know every last detail about the game universe.

People are complaining about a mission complete screen!??

*eyes roll out of head*
It feels really regressive. A lot of the game does. They focus to much on accessibility and gamey-ness, and it comes at the cost of immersion. All that superfluous information is bad design, imo. Of course, the gameplay also has similar issues.

Keep in mind that I'm one of those people that LOVED Far Cry 2.

I personally can't recommend skipping the first game. It's just a great story and honestly, playing ME2 to me makes me giddy with how much of a true sequel it is. I have been waiting to see more of this story for a couple of years now; it's like watching a hyped/long awaited sequel to a movie.

If you're that opposed to playing the first one, I guess wikipedia the game for the story then jump into the second game. At the very least you're playing a great game and experiencing this great saga, but I just can't recommend doing that based on my experience.

Not really looking into it for the combat part, more the immersion possibilities of the story and the detail. Maybe I should just buy a used 360 to play this since I think the time would be worth the expense.
