Mass Effect 3 SPOILER THREAD: LOTS OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE

It was probably just biotics, but it still looked silly when he'd have his hand out with a fireball swirling out from it.

So that's what that was. I was wondering why everyone just stopped just because put his hand up. LOL

I was hoping for more chats with TIM though (besides him gloating).

Seems fitting for St. Patty's Day.

Nah man, to be completely fair ME3 is a great game. Most people here just hate the conclusion, but man what a ride. I really enjoyed it and it is the only video game ever that has pulled real emotion from me through some of the scenes. This is a top tier game for sure.

I think that for anyone invested in the series it should absolutely be played. The high points for the game are really high and if you ignore the ending there is some merit to what Bioware does right. Some of the gameplay is cool, some events are emotional, the main missions are very well done, you get to have your 1on1s with most of the characters you care about and all in all it is a great universe to explore. Design and atmosphere is top notch overall and a sci-fi nut wet dream.

One of my favorite parts is having a conversation with Eve as a female Shepard. Asking why she chose to be a shaman and her struggles with it, to be experimented on and her views on what the Krogan's destiny should be if the genophage is cured. It is not pretending to be some overthought bullshit about genocide and feminism, but an honest voice of what her role is both as a female and a leader of sorts while remaining true to the fiction and the background of the krogan you know, and one that you can ultimately sympathize with.

When Mass effect is doing these sort of things it shines, when you see the effect of excessive focus testing on gameplay (turret sequences!) and characters (like Chobot) you just want to fucking die.

lol my Shep was black as well, but you have to understand that , that scene was intended for a white dude shepard. I guess it was a nice touch though. Anderson dying really did touch me a bit. I felt like I really did lose a friend. Little touches like that is what makes this game so special and why I guess we are all so passionate about the ending.

I think because he was one of the characters who always had your back since day one, him and Garrus, and maybe Liara?

Right up to that point anyway I thought the final mission on Earth was great, then they ruined things a bit. Shepard and Anderson dying, but knowing that Earth was saved would have been okay, then they could have shown how things in the world changed based on your decisions over the course of the 3 games, how the rest of the characters were getting on with life.

not his fault you dont know how your own ftc works bro

its not a class action lawsuit or something

Probably because I have better things to do then suing a game's company because I didn't think the ending was as awesome as they said. You might think this is not a waste of time, I accept your opinion.
Edit: damnit, not suing, filling a complain.

ok, so.. are we just going to pretend we don't notice that someone named Shepard, you know, like the dead guy who got screwed into killing himself for no good reason, apparently likes the game as a whole?

just asking.

I had the same thought.

I want some answers from Shepard
- Was it all a dream?
- Why were you such a pussy when Starchild showed up?
- Speaking of... how bout that Tali?

What does he say instead? The singing made that scene so emotional.

I started humming the tune about 2.5 seconds before Mordin sung, and then I got choked up when he did it.

Here you go with the suing again. They're the place you would go to if a company promised you five years of warranty on your new game console and replacements no questions asked free of charge if your console broke, and the console broke after four years and they wouldn't honour it. It's not really applicable to this situation but it's not entirely misaimed either.

Two questions:

1. Is Kaidan gay, or can FemShep also romance him?

2. Is there any way for Thane to live? Because the leaked script provided for that.

Femshep can absolutely romance him in both ME1 and now. Crazy underwear sex is offered in ME3. Probably because ME1 offered crazy nude glipses of sex with the same character.

edited before you posted. ;D

I wish there was a point where you had to make big decisions and actually be a leader like in ME2's ending. Someone had to maintain the barrier, somebody had to go on a suicide mission. You were making life and death decisions that a military commander would make everyday in war. You flip back and forth highlighting their names because once you hit that button you've changed something. I never really got to be that tactical except to tell one of my teammates to repair a broken thingamabob.

I read you have to not talk to Thane on the citadel and Kirrahe needs to be alive, but I'm not sure.

Edit:They made gave the Virmire Survivors same sex romances? Neat, I thought it would be just the new NPCs.

Oh right, I forgot. He's a Biowaresexual. blah. Well, it's in the future, maybe there are more bisexuals or humans are just more comfortable with pansexuality? Like with Kelly Chambers.

I guess its like Schrodinger's Cat. They're both gay and straight until you collapse the possibilities into one outcome based on your action. Or bisexuality is the ultimate evolution of human sexuality.

It's still worth it to start with the series and go through the trilogy even despite the terrible ending right?
Since you are in the spoiler thread, the ending is horrific, but I would say the journey is worth it just for all the amazing scenes you are going to come across. You'll get hours of enjoyment from the series. The ending was a total let down to me, but some people can deal with it. I say go for it.

So do they explain why Legion dies from uploading data? Just finished Rannoch and thought getting peace between the Quarians and Geth kept everyone alive.

i don't like it when they make heroes suck to make villains look good (i.e. worfing)

just like they did with kai leng

They didn't though. When Shepard fails to beat him it's because of other factors, like him having a GUNSHIP covering him. Kai Leng only does well when he's got the entire cerberus army backing him up.

Just completed it and after reading all the whining about the horrible ending I was prepared for the worst. To be honest I can't see why everyone is making such a fuss. Sure, it could've been better, but it wasn't that bad. All in all Mass Effect 3 was an amazing game with a lot of memorable sequences (especially the last part in London).

nah that's pretty much exactly what they did. they honestly thought that they were making kai leng look badass by beating a sick thane (or kirrahe) and using a gunship to "beat" shepard and steal the VI

What does he say instead? The singing made that scene so emotional.

"Ah, classic bypass. Standard fail safes. Excellent work. Yes, yes."
*Temperature now within acceptable range. Dispersal Commencing*
"Genophage cured. Krogan free. New beginning. For all of us."
*BOOM*

I was never bothered by Kai Leng. Probably because any character compared to vent kid automatically became amazing. Seriously. That freaking kid probably had more screen time than Kai Leng.

Well, he only does well in cutscenes, like at the end of the Thessia fight where he throws Liara at your other squadmate. Or when he kills Thane because Shepard and his entire squad can't be arsed to shoot a melee-based swordsman. I still find it mind-boggling that Bioware didn't even try to make it more believable by giving him an invisibility cloak or making him super fast or something.

I wonder if they intended to make him look like the douchiest guy in the universe so that players would hate his guts tremendously.

The singing made everything so much better. :\

Mordin's death, Thane's death and the ending are the best scenes of the game. Hell, probably the best scenes this gen.

Yep, no singing on my play through.

Yeah. I missed out on the singing on my first run because the character I imported didn't talk to much of anyone in ME2. I was more focused on going through the missions so I skipped out on all the between mission dialogues.
