They shouldn't be letting crazy people who commit violent acts walk away before trial at all. Being able to walk free because you made enough money from your drug dealing or robbery etc seems like a really shitty system.

You are wrong. 1.3 million troops vs 80-100 million citizens with guns. We absolutely can do shit unless the government decides to go scorched earth and absolutely destroy the country for a pyrrhic victory. It wouldn't be a functioning government you can't govern by force unless your ok with America being governed like North Korea.

Hilarious that you think we could amass 80-100 million fighters. The population of the US is around 340 million. What percentage of that is elderly and children? Now subtract out the tens of millions of young/middle aged men and women that I guarantee you would bend the knee because they're either too afraid to fight, or they agree and support the government.

The rebels wouldn't just be fighting the government. They'd be fighting the government, plus the citizens that oppose them. If the government were smart, they'd have the loyalists do most of the work for them.

Maybe, maybe not but if I am ever in a WalMart or wherever if a shooting breaks out I will try to find the safest room for my wife and I to hide in and if the shooter enters I will be able to defend myself because I carry everywhere I go

I do not need to last 5 minutes against army. I need to last long enough against other criminals and burglars. Open carry around would make a lot of criminals think twice before trying to do something. If every migrant was aware that a person might carry a gun, they would try to think twice before trying to rob somebody. There are reasons why blue cities are crime ridden shit holes.

NK scenario is not possible in USA. The country is too big for that and governors have enough independent powers to fight against the federal government if really necessary.

Yeah - what I am saying that cash bail is a massively flawed system where a pedophile who molested kids can walk back onto the streets because his gang or parents or whatever can front the money but some guy who swiped someones wallet can be stuck in jail for weeks while still technically innocent.

Now go through those and how many are violent criminal incidents that just happen to have been at a school? Most are direct violence between people that know each other that could happen anywhere, and likely with any kind weapon.

The term "school shooting" is weaponized to create a fear of guns by bringing up thoughts of tragedies like the Parkland shooting and Columbine where innocent children are murdered indiscriminately when the vast majority are nothing like those.

You all do realize that the Military is full of many people that would defect as well. Not too many would be fond of killing their own brothers and sisters. Has history taught you nothing?

Also, the issue has and always will be a mental health issue. I've worked in those facilities, there are far too many people let out on the street that need to be put away for life unfortunately. But hey, here's some anti depression meds, good luck out there buddy!

There are also WAY too many guns out there in this country that we know of (let alone that we are not aware of) for any sort of confiscation to work, and like others, I will not surrender mine either. I've been on this earth long enough to see what that road leads to.

It is pretty clear that "banning guns" or "gun confiscation" do not mean taking them away from criminals, illegals, people with mental issues or etc. but from american citizens and specifically republicans. Democrats have conditioned their own voting base to be against guns ownership for adequate people. But if it is a person with some deviation - "they need to protect themselves" etc. etc.

You don't have to be able to defeat the hypothetical oppressive government at conventional war for being armed to prove effective at preserving your rights. Oppressing a disarmed citizenry costs absolutely nothing and can be done on a whim (as we are seeing across the disarmed parts of the West); oppressing an armed citizenry is a very different prospect and would likely cost more than can be gained. This is why they disarm first, and then oppress.

The ATF here in the US tries to overstep their powers

I have triggered a STRAW check on weapons I have purchased since I purchased more than one at a time 100% legally and obviously registered but had ATF show up at my house "needing to check to see if I still owned the guns"

How did that end up? Asked to see a search warrant? Take them down to police station at your convenience? I can see many ways where you showing your possession of your own firearms ends with you in a bodybag.

My driveway is gated so they buzzed the house and I did ask if they had a warrant and the lady said they could get one easy and I told them I would be home all day

She kept being pushy so I literally told her to fuck off and bring the paper and if they came onto my property without one they would be treated as trespassers, never heard from them again

No way they were checking my firearms
