Yeah I understand that, but I can shoot one guy in the head = 200 points, then restart, shoot him again in the head = 100 points. And this is the first guy I will shoot.Ehm.. multipliers?

Dear God yes. Just give me any mode besides multiplayer versus that doesn't have cut-scenes, fill it with enemies, cue up the music, and let me replay it to my heart's content. The actual shooting feel, movement weight and raw gun porn is just so damn good.
Pretty please Rockstar. Even Red Dead Redemption had gang hideouts and the like.
Words
Does anyone else think the gunplay is somewhat weak? Most, if not all guns don't feel powerful at all.
There is no better gunplay to me currently.
Same..there hasnt been in years.
Yep. Most other games feel weak as hell to me now. There is no better gunplay to me currently.
Sounds good to me.Yeah well we could mass email r* at the max payne feedback emal adress.
Anyhow, slowmo wasn't very good/usable in Max Payne 3 -- it almost felt out of place, but not quite. Maybe this is cause of the realistic physics system or something, and the jumping sideways/slowmo jump wasn't properly adjusted. I just played through MP3 and I rarely used the jumping option, cause it wasn't as much fun to use (The feel of it wasn't quite right. Some of the issues I had with it was as follows; getting back up was a chore, accidentally hitting a minor item, and the lack of total control over the mode.)
Nope. Slow mo in MP3 is fantastic. I used it almost exclusively in parts - diving from one cover to the next. It pretty much defines this game and is easily one of the strongest parts it.
Oops, my bad. Yeah his work here is just so grounded. One would hope that no actor could fake that
What other work does he do? Does anyone know?
Oddly enough, I just played through and beat FEAR over the weekend, and it was indeed awesome. Any shooter I play after these two has a high bar to reach.Word. More fun shooting stuff in this game than anything since FEAR in 2005. Criticizing the gunplay in this is one complaint I truly do not understand. I was restarting checkpoints just to play through shootouts again. RESTARTING CHECKPOINTS BECAUSE IT FELT SO GOOD SHOOTING FOOLS. Not one game in recent years I can say that about.
I can't understand why anyone would play this game like any other third person shooter, sitting behind cover all the time, totally boring.
Max Payne is supposed to be played using shoot dodge majority of the time, otherwise where is the fun? Diving over shit and taking out a bunch of guys with a bullet for each never gets old. Diving down a set of stairs is fun as he'll as well.
Okay, lol I just figured out tonight that slo-dive can be used EVEN IF your bullet-time meter is empty
...yeah, Can't believe I got all the way to Ch.4 without realizing that and playing this like it was ol' school MP1/2
Yep. I play to what the game gives me. The game provides a cover system and more weaponry than just SMGs to dual wield, and they all work out.People should play the game exactly like they want to.

I might be an odd man out in this bunch but I try to use it all. I'll hang behind cover if its too hectic, picking up some adrenaline along the way, maybe do some blind-fire if needed, then either roll to another cover position and unleash hell in bullet-time, or jump-dodge into a farther cover position if I can live with the delay in getting back up or have bullet time juice to use when trying to stand. I also mix up my weapons quite a bit but prefer the rifles and shotties unless I'm in cramped conditions or being surrounded - then its balls to the walls dual wielding, heavy slow-mo usage, but with a lot more risk.
There is no one right way to play this game. Have fun.
People should play the game exactly like they want to.
No shit. But personally I feel your not gonna get the whole experience if you play that way. Shootdodge/bullettime is the crux of the gameplay and to underuse such a core feature is baffling to me.People should play the game exactly like they want to.
They should. But please don't bitch in this thread that it's just another third person cover shooter.
I was using shoot dodging quite a bit all the way through some of the final moments of the game. You can't use it whenever you feel like it, but its always a powerful move.Shoot dodging was rendered useless in the second part of the game. A shame.
Oh, wow. This multiplayer has a bunch of stuff to do. Only played a few matches, but it looks good.
James McCaffery's work in this is just stellar. I love the way he says 'have a nice day' to the creeper in the club.
Deathmatch in bronco's office and tdm in hoboken is sooooo good. Free aim only

Multi is a ton of fun. Way more depth than I ever thought.
A couple of things I learned as I played and helped along the way:
* You can dodge-jump even without adrenaline saved up. Yeah, like many others here I didn't realize this until pretty far into the game. D'oh!
* Only dodge jump if you're prepared to lie on the floor for a bit afterwards. Meaning don't just jump straight into enemies unless you are definitely taking them all down in that one jump, otherwise you'll look like an idiot lying on the floor while bad guys open fire on you at close range. I try to keep some bullet time ready to go after a dodge jump so I can spend it when getting up - minimizes the drawbacks of dodge jumping in the first place and lets you clean up any guys you may have missed.
* Remember that you gain adrenaline/bullet time when taking fire in cover. So if its too hectic don't feel bad about hanging back for a bit. All that incoming gunfire is just charging up the madness you're about to unleash.
* Popping pain pills manually heals more than waiting on last stand to do the trick. So I make sure to pop pills at about 50% damage, but I always keep one pill unused just for insurance.
* Stealth can make a difference. Some reviews got this wrong. I've seen encounters play out differently from avoiding some enemies and letting them pass as well as taking out a group of dudes at once with a silenced weapon without raising the alarm. These opportunities are few and far between though.
I had no idea. Very nice.*When you know there's a weapon you need in the middle of a firefight, mash Y as you're running close to it and you'll automatically roll and pick it up at the same time! If you're out in the open when this happens, remember that you can launch out of the roll with a shootdodge!
Good stuff. You Americuns gotta wait too!Surprised there's no word in here, about the PC version getting pushed back a few days. US release is now the same day, as the UK one.
Was really hoping to unlock this one early. =S

Goddamnit. Well at least it's coming out on a Friday, gives me a little bit of Saturday and most of Sunday to play.Surprised there's no word in here, about the PC version getting pushed back a few days. US release is now the same day, as the UK one.
Was really hoping to unlock this one early. Now I actually have to wait until our release date. =S

Also, something I didn't notice until my second playthrough is that you can just plain go prone anytime you want without shoot-dodging. Tap once to crouch, and then hold that same button to go prone. I had no use for this at all, but hey, the more you know right?
Count me in as a rolling fool too. Not sure how often it's saved my ass, but its looked cool every time, and that counts for a lot.
